I got my 2010 Non-Legacy Megazord at Walmart for $20. It was THE ONLY one I ever saw for that price. After that I only ever saw the Legacy ones at Toys R Us for way more; $50 - $60 I think. Great video! Thanks for all the comparisons!
I bought my 2010 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 20th anniversary or the 20 years of Mighty Morphin from when Target had an exclusively for the first year cuz I looked around at Walmart that same couple of months I saw that and they didn't have any ironically about Mine For $20 well technically of course 1999 plus taxes so of course it was like just under $22 after the taxes but it was awesome I finally got around to a what they called it on the box the Dino Megazord what was originally named in the show I think Mighty Megazord because of Mighty Morphin title but they called it Dino Megazord as a re-release and a brand new sculpting different from the original 93 too bad they didn't use duplicates of the 93 would have been pretty nice or at least try to kept the same functionality of wheels and whatnot you know rolling capability it wouldn't have been impossible I think so they under the same budget that they sold it as could have worked out some really sturdy thick kind of wheels and sockets and stuff like that so that everything would work and still last a pretty long time under the same principle well perhaps I mean heck they could have probably sold it for the same amount of price but only cost of them a few cents more well theoretically for extra parts that kind of mimic a compact version of the original 93 Mighty Morphin Megazord you know Rolling Wheels and stuff like that for the Triceratops and savory tiger for example but that's just a theory. anyone think I'm way off base that thought?
I had the 1993 Deluxe version. I also had the Dragonzord and the Titanus to make up the Ultrazord. I think I still have it somewhere in my mom's house. I've lost most of the small removable parts. I wish I've taken good care of those figures, but I Had a ton of fun playing with those.
I hope if they do they at least announce a Lightning Collection/Collector aimed line so people can know to wait for something better instead of just getting these.
Note: The legacy and 2010 molds are the same, And the original megazord toy was based off the combining model used in the show. Making it the most accurate in that regard.
Yeah, I know, but since the Legacy had die-cast I didn't think it was completely fair to compare it to this offering. It's more alike with the 2010 version in that regard.
I ordered a decal kit for this and I highly , highly, recommended it !! Its like 25$ bucks but way worth it ! Its unbelievable how good the decals make it look
Just bought this version at Wal-Mart. Fulfilled my dream I've had since 1993. I've only ever owned the Super Zeo Megazord and the Lost Galaxy bonus Megazord's. If only they'd release a version of the Dragonzord. Count yourself lucky for your collection sir.
My Walmart had these at slightly cheaper prices, which lead me to buy it and accompany my Legacy one. I'm glad that I got all 3 sets in one go (wish I could say the same for the Beast Morphers Zord distribution in stores, even if I like those more than this set of Zords)
I decided to pick these up, since they're affordable. The latch to unfold the Mastodon was so tight, that I snapped off one of the legs trying to open it. I ended up needing to use a butter knife to pry it open. I was able to use crazy glue to reattach the leg, but it was still pretty aggravating.
@@JTMitchell87 Yeah, it's lame. But the glue held well enough for me to assemble the Megazord, and since it's just for display, it doesn't really matter. But the thing is, this toy is rated 4+. I feel bad for any young child who has trouble with this, especially since they would be playing with it.
BTW in Japan during Zyuranger's run the Guardian Beasts aka the dino zords were also sold separately in 1992, & just like the Hasbro releases the Sabertooth Tiger & Triceratops were sold together, while the Mastodon & Pterodactyl along with the cannons sold together, & lastly the T-Rex with the power sword in addition to the set and Amazon has the full set on their site.
The 2010 Megazord was a true budget release, and it retailed for $19.99 - $29.99 depending on where you found it and at what time during the release window. Worth every single penny for what you get. This...thing...though. I can see the potential in its design when combined, but this thing is not a budget release. The individual zords are literally 3 M&M's away from being Happy Meal toys. Yes, the Megazord itself has a little bit better articulation than the 2010 release, but the extreme lack of detail and WAAYYY-too-hollow design are awful. But I get it. It's for kids and not necessarily adult collectors, which is why it's basically "if the Soul of Chogokin Megazord was a Happy Meal toy". Thank you for this great review, though, good sir.
It certainly does. I have a playlist of stickers made by Reprolabels/ToyHax that features the zords I've re-stickered. ru-vid.com/group/PLF6153F5C5F5F70A8
@@JTMitchell87 yeah you should go check out LETS VOlTRONs channel he got his hands on a box set probably won’t be available in stores very often as myself I was going to wait until it came out but I just decided to order each of the lions very good figure.
@@JTMitchell87 i'd say the entire Ultimate Daizyujin minipla is more worth it than the Chigokin one, despite some compromises, it give you everything for a lower price and less space taken
I can see them doing one unless they skip to only doing collector aimed zords. They already have this Megazord so it shouldn't be hard to do at least a Dragonzord to go with it.
I have This Megazord when my brother got me an early birthday present alongside with a transformer figure. Also, you have this Megazord with a Legacy Dragonzord and Titanus to make the Ultrazord
I thought I had done a video over the Legacy long ago, but it doesn't look like it... Whoops... I don't know if I'll do one for the Legacy, but the SOC? Maaaaybe? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The short answer: Both. The complex answer, from what I recall: The Legacy first came out in 2013, but in 2015 it was re-released. The "new" version had the stickers already applied (where I think the original didn't?) and had alterations to the sword handle and the legs being sturdier. I'm 90% sure mine is the 2015 one because I don't have issues with the sword fitting into the hands and mine doesn't topple over easily.
So basically couldn't tell by the box? There are some differences with the 2013 and the 2015 box. And yes since you said there's no flaws, then you're lucky you bought the 2015 version.
Well you got your wish. Hasbro is doing a Dino Megazord aimed squarely at collectors. Individual zords, REALLY good articulation and feels in some ways just one step down from the Soul Of Chogokin Daizyujin.
I have the exact same issue with the mammoths once arm click being wayy to tight to the point where I feel like I'll break it, idk why that'd be a consistent problem
When the Legacy Megazord is released here in the Philippines, If I am not mistaken, it was around P5,000-6,000 PHP which if you convert to USD it is around $100USD-120USD. It is very expensive here in the Philippines. Also, the Legacy Thunder Megazord, it was retailed around 10,000 PHP- 15,000 PHP ($200USD-$300USD) if I am not mistaken and that's a lot of money. I am so eager to get one myself but I have no money at the time for I am only a high school student and that kind of money is almost the same as my tuition fee so I feel bad about that. Now that I can afford to purchase one, the availability is impossible and the price is doubled, HAHA I wish I had the money at that time to purchase one. Hasbro released a lower quality version last 2020 and the price is not reasonable at first time it was released. For 1 pack of zord it cost 1000 PHP ($20USD) which is 3000PHP ($60USD) for the whole set. But now, I purchased it for half the price, 1 set for only 1400 PHP ($28USD) and I think it is a great buy! my son loves it and most of all I feel like I am 10 years old again. HAHA in fact I am the one that opened the package even though it was intended to be a birthday gift for my son. I do love it. The Hasbro Megazord is not a bad Megazord in my opinion. Coming from a non collector, it is a great buy. It brings nostalgia. I can't complain with the price I paid however there is still a lot more to improve for the product specially the hollowness and the lack of stickers. I have contacted a local dealer hear in the philippines for a decal set which cost 250PHP ($5USD), I think it is almost the same as BD 15 decals and it does bring out the best in the megazord. It is now detailed with the sticker set.
The only reason I have the SOC is because it was $150 on some Amazon sale a few years back. I'd have a hard time paying full retail price for it so I totally understand.
You can see that Hasbro doesn't quite get to the original because everything is pretty unstable and everything wobbles and is pretty loose. The Legacy Megazord also looks a bit more powerful than the original. The old megazord from then looked a lot more powerful than the others.
This is the one you keep around for your son, daughter, niece, nephew, or younger cousins so they have something they can abuse and keep their hands off your SOC Megazord.
I used to have the original version as a kid. Im now 33 years old and looking for one one the same size as the original and colour and design. And we're to buy one from.
The 6 year old in me is saying “PASS” lol hopefully lightning collection does a Megazord under a $100 dollar budget and it’s bigger than the 93 version, Along with Dragonzord and Titanus
I think the best out of the vintage, 2010/Legacy and this one (for me) is the 2010/Legacy. I really like it's proportions and slightly stylized accents. While the newest one has some added articulation the body itself looks a little too straight to me. But hey, Megazord are basically bricks. That's part of the charm to me.
bruh the damn pteradactyl is taller than the mastodon now.......dino megazord legacy been ruined in my head man smh this cant be in any top tens no more
