I've started building another one of these legacy Hasegawa kits with raised panel lines. I figure these kits will give me a greater appreciation for the more recently tooled kits when the time comes to build them.
When I have seen that model kit, It brought me some memories when I played PC game F-15 on 386 PC, long time ago. Anyhow, keep it up, and don't give up, pal.
That is some old school modelling right there! LOL While the cockpits were still weak on those second generation Phantom kits, they still built up to good looking hard wing F-4E's. I miss going into the Yuzawaya shop in Yamato - close to Atsugi-Kitchi were I was stationed! Good luck & have fun!
@@stevethefishdotnet I left Carrier Air Wing 5 for the last time only a couple short weeks before the Tsunami Disaster. Between my time in the Marine Corps in Okinawa during the '80's and my time in VFA-192 & VFA-27 I had nearly 10 years total assigned to Japan. :-)
You certainly do gain an appreciation for the newer kit offerings by building these "legacy" Hasegawa kits, I have their old 1/72 A-6 Intruder re-boxed by Revell for the Flight of the Intruder movie, cockpit is seriously lacking but nice details everywhere else. You have more patience then me with those tiny ejection pull rings, I would have sprung for resin replacements! And if you want good 1/72 pilots, the ones found in old Monogram kits are quite nice. *Happy modeling!!!*
So I'm at mark 38:40 and could'nt help noticing the background noise. Classic meme! That guys laugh is hilarious and contagious!😅😅 I have to say the Phantom's "office" came out looking pretty good! I hope you don't take too long with this build. Looking forward to seeing the end results.
Somebody took the video of that guy cracking up (I assume it's Spanish) and subtitled it in terms of the Return of the Last Skywalker Rising or whatever the movie is called. Th subtitles had it so that he was laughing at how Kylo Ren kept getting his ass kicked by a stupid girl throughout all three movies.
hi greg nice old kit there , i dont do many planes, but if i was to do another it would be the phantom, its one of my faves. and ive sat in one, any way, still under the weather, so not much doing, have been trying to get the yuri done and working with some water cast resin, for a base on one of the okinu figs i did. any way looking good so hurry with the next one.
Speaking of the Yuri kit, I just saw that I have 16 minutes worth of video recorded on Kei. I haven't touched these kits since last summer, but I will put together a Kei video and upload it sometime soon.
hi greg, id been working on her gun and pinning her hand, when i noticed that something was rattling inside, i thought did i drop something inside when i filled it with plaster, anyway it was anoying me so removed her leg, to reveal that the plaster had not dried properly and had gone into lumps, which is weired after almost a year, so ended up having to get it all out, have now filled with resin instead, ill try and get a vid up over the weekend.
It just dawned on me while watching this; you kinda sound like Jeff Goldblum every now and then.😁 I'm wondering what similarities this kit and my Fujimi kit have in common?(As far as the molds are concerned).I have the "J" version used for testing purposes. VX-4 Vandy 1 scheme.
Well, I have Hasegawa's F-4 with updated tooling and it's far better, complete with pull rings on the ejection seats, cockpit interior decals, etc. I'm not familiar with the Fujimi kit. Jeff Goldblum? Hmm... Maybe?
@@stevethefishdotnet I'll have to to a review on it then. Have'nt done one in a while. Oh by the way, I tried that video editing program you recommended. (Shotcut). I like it but my outdated laptop (2011) just can't handle it. The videos play choppy which makes it hard to edit and that's when the program finally loads. I think this is the excuse for me to get a new laptop.😁
I learned how to come up with my own enchilada sauce! No more cans of chemical-laden sauce for me. Tastes great, too. Unfortunately, I am the only one in my family who likes enchiladas. I make them with cheese, chopped spinach, chopped olives, and taco meat. They're like Mexican pizzas, but my wife and kid don't like them. Nuts.
