I think he's more surprised that a 4th Hokage has already died. Hashirama hadn't died THAT long ago. Tsunade is in her 50's, and knew her as a kid. Hashirama and Tobirama knew Hiruzen as a kid, and Hiruzen died at around 70 years old. They had no idea when they previously fought Hiruzen that Minato was dead. So the first thing that would go through his mind would have to be that the 4th Hokage died in a very short ammount of time, despite already being dead.
Does he tough? His assumptions on the sharingan aren‘t really backed up. From all the guys who awakened the sharingan like obito, Sasuke or even Madara in this ep, they did it when they were forced in an extreme situation and not because they hated anyone in particular or were hellbent on revenge. I personally think his assumptions are more leaned towards the mangekyou sharingan and not the sharingan itself, that would make more sense. The MS is literally an eye you can just awaken when you experience the death of a close one, so the „loss of love which is replaced by even stronger hatred“ would make more sense in this case. But even then you have examples like Itachi who weren‘t consumed by hatred even though he awakened the MS, so it‘s not like a curse which you succumb to 100% of the time. It depends more on the person who wields it, how he ends up becoming upon awakening the MS and not a literal curse. For example a Sasuke wasn‘t consumed by hatred because he awakened the MS, the hatred was already there the MS just amplified it in the midst of combat like we saw in the 5KS arc. If the wielder of the MS don‘t hate, he won‘t turn psycho like ITACHI. But if he does hate, the MS will amplify that feeling to draw more power of his emotions like with Sasuke and Obito.

Tobirama said it, hatred toward yourself count too. Itachi got his sharingan because of obito who killed is teammate. Tobirama wasn't explaining the ms but the sharingan. The ms is just an evolution so it doesn't matter. It seems you missunderstood is explaination. The cursw isn't the eyes. The eyes are the seal to the curse. Uchiha are people whose emotion are way powerful than the rest either its love or hatred but because of that their emotion are sealed. Everytime they experience a traumatic experience that would gave them a ptsd or something would break the curse and liberated their inner feeling that will awaken the sharingan. Its just happen to hatred his what ultimately awaken most people sharingan so they hatred are boosted after. I know you probably don't like boruto but sarada unlock her sharingan by love and traumatic experience of having her father who she didn't really see almost killing her. She unlock her ms by love for boruto and by fear that he would die. Tobirama explanation isn't but isn't complete because he didn't know the other side of the curse and so is sasuke in boruto. Itachi did hate but that hatred was turned toward himself. He didn't necessarily hated somebody in general but something. He had to kill his clan and tortured his brother so he had to feel remorse and hatred and he himslef said it and because of that heavy burden he had to carry this feeling for years he had an ilness which ultimately killed him or would if sasuke wouldn't have killed him
It's not that Tobirama necessarily knew more. It's that some of the Uchiha completely accepted their lot in life, such as Madara, who willingly took the evolution of his Sharingan to the extreme and chose to fulfill what was written on the clan's stone tablet. Kagami, Shisui, and Itachi also probably understood the clan inside and out, which allowed them to broaden their perspectives. Fugaku, despite picking a different path, possibly did. Eventually, Sasuke will, too. At any rate, neither Tobirama nor the Uchiha knew the ugly truth about the stone tablet.

This is where it really hits home for me. What is a village? A village is a place where people come together to protect eachother in order to let their children grow up and not be sacrificed to the horrors of other humans. I really like this because it's a direct link to the viewer. We have society and government for the same reason. We as a people have been fighting and warring for thousands of years and now, today, we still have cities where we come together to live in our version of peace. Obviously we aren't even close to us all being happy in our "villages". We have governments and officials that act against our own interests, but this is why I love Naruto. The main theme is to get to know eachother to gain peace with eachother. ❤❤❤

dude you are overhating hashirama's father he was pretty normal for his days and the fact he was alive at that age means he was strong as f. hashirama was great and more thoughtful than anybody there that doesn't mean everybody else are evil .
People seem to forget how hashirama not only fought madara with FULL POWER nine tail and he even won against it yes full power minato sealed half in naruto and half in himself and died but madara and hashiram fought before minato was born 😂 so mf hashirama was taking on full power kurama + madara full power but ofc without rinnegan but still insanely impressive madara needed nine tails to be a match to hashirama , i bet even with rinnegan but without nine tails hashirama will win vs madara
Let's also not forget that there was some beast that hashirama couldn't seal, so he turned to the uzimaki clan head to help him, further showing how OP the uzimakis truly are
I actually really like the relationship between Hashirama and Tobirama. Hashirama lets Tobirama lecture, almost bully him a lot, because he knows that Tobirama is more logical, so he takes his words seriously. However, Tobirama also knows when to back down when Hashirama puts his foot down, showing that Hashirama is really the one with the final say at the end of the day.
Tobirama's explanation about the Sharingan is the correct one if I'm not mistaken cause it's the one that goes the most in-depth about the power of the Uchiha clan and it's never challenged after that cause it's toward the end of the manga so he's telling things how they are objectively. Other Uchihas thought they all needed to suffer to awake the mangekyo but it actually has never been the only way. It's beautiful and sad at the same time. It explains why Sasuke, Obito, Madara and the whole Uchiha clan seem to be so hateful. You can see Sasuke matured here cause he's no longer as impulsive after edo Itachi's death. He now waits to listen to others' perspectives to make his own choice with all the pieces of information in mind instead of just deciding to erase the whole village in an instant. He wants to understand why Itachi did what he did to honor his memory. Ashirama is truly a second goat. The world Madara and Ashirama lived in was truly hardcore, way worse than the present time in Naruto. It's moving to see they shared a common dream and they succeeded in forging the shinobi world through their efforts when their life seemed hopeless. We're entering in a flashback of a few episodes right now but it's definitely a necessary one to understand the full story of Madara, Ashirama and the origin of the Senju and Uchiha clans as well as the story of the shinobi world itself.
Yes it's explained by Kabuto. He implanted Ashirama cells in him to make him stronger and allow him to use Wood Style. He got the Rinnegan as a grandpa before dying though but it was after his fight against Ashirama.
i love their backstory its so in depth and well developed. and the fact, they shared a vision even tho they were enemies in disguise. but the only thing that mattered was having someone who got youre back is so awesome.

A Zetsu body is really the best body he could get so he no longer needs to take control of someone's body and he can potentially replicate them. On top of that they contain Ashirama cells so it's very valuable bodies.
If during the Battles of the Warring States Era, Tobirama was hiding when Madara received his brother's eyes. What does he think he can do when Sasuke also has the same advanced eyes that do not go blind. And besides, Tobirama’s teleportation has Amaterasu around him and Susanoo’s flight. He will spread Amaterasu across the field and that’s it, and then use Kirin and Amaterasu again on Edo Tobirama so that he does not recover. Overall, what I'm saying is that Sasuke has many ways to defeat Tobirama. And Tobirama only shows off in the presence of his Brother, so as not to disgrace his style.
Interestingly, the third one said that he forced Itachi to do that, but he took the blame on himself. He wasn't the one who passed the mission on to Itachi, we saw that in Itachi's own memories.

Tobirama may have sown the seeds of the downfall of the Uchiha but let's not forget that the major reaason people alienated and were suspicious of the Uchiha was the incident with the nine tailed fox which was cause by Obito. I honestly put the blame there and not with Tobirama. The coup d'etat would never have happened if the suspicions of the Uchiha releasing and controling it never came to fruition.
Yeah, but the reason why Obito did what he did is because he was manipulated by Madara, so in the end it was still caused by Madara and had nothing to do with Uchihas, they had no bearing on any of that

Orochimaru is legit one of the most dangerous and strongest characters in the Narutoverse. He is powerful not for his strength and whatnot, but for his sheer intellect and the amount of knowledge and information he had amassed. Even though he had been power crept now, but let's not forget that he is still a Kage level ninja, meaning he is someone who can go toe to toe with ninjas the likes of say the Mizukage or Raikage. Just this alone makes him legit powerful strength wise as well. Furthermore, he even defeated Gaara's father, a Kazekage no less, and he even schemed to nearly destroy Konoha. He even succeeded in killing 3rd Hokage, someone known as the Ninjutsu Professor for having mastered many ninjutsus in his lifetime. Orochimaru is definitely someone you don't want to make an enemy of.

This was by far one of my favorite moments as I loved the fact sasuke actually wanted to get all of the information he could before making a final decision and because it’s also the first time orochimaru stands behind sasuke as a master or sensei and helps sasuke achieve his goal.
The maximum that Tobirama can do. It's just to intimidate Sasuke with your aura, nothing more. With EMS And with completed Susanoo and other other techniques, he should have no problem defeating him. After all, this is not the same Sasuke whose eyes became blind during a day of battles.A completely healthy and self-aware guy. Complete Susanoo + combination of Amaterasu, lightning techniques and so on. Even Edo Tensei is countered by Amaterasu. If there are no absorption and sealing techniques.
you can never know this, the person who wins is who the author wants to win, judging abilities alone is pretty even before sasuke gets the rinnegan, but everything is irrelevant, you guys need to stop this stupid shit, if it was objective and "true to life" and what some ninjas could logically do, naruto, sasuke and literally almost the entire main cast would already be dead. (easy example - madara simply not obliterating the 5 kage for the sake of cool factor and plot)

The reason Hashirama, Madara, Tobirama and Hiruzen hold so much raw power (Similarly with Naruto and Sasuke as they are now) is due to how they grew up; in an era of constant war-explained in the next few episodes-where it was literally you fight and live, or you fight and you die. They literally had to force themselves to grow stronger in order to protect themselves.
Good thing hashirama was retconed to be god of shinobi and powered up after chunin arcs, otherwise minato was supposed to be strongest and hashirama just a previous leader, but now it created issue of hashirama cells lazy writing. Have a unsolvable problem, no problem! Hashirama cells.... XD
It’s crazy that Naruto already had the answer to what is a village, what is a shinobi long before sasuke. Naruto was actually asked the same question or it was a convo that lead to him saying a shinobi is one who endures. I forgot the exact episode and details but Naruto 100% said what Hashirama said some episodes ago.
There is a plot hole with the reanimation. Apparently in original naruto, the 3rd coffin that Orochimaru summoned during the battle with 3rd Hokage Hiruzen was supposed to be Minato. At the time, Minato was supposed to be the strongest Hokage among the 3 but was later recon to be 1st hokage. Also, orochimaru shouldn't be able summon Minato because he was sealed away in the reaper death seal. Can't call upon a soul that has been locked away.
yup, these are inconsistencies and plot holes in the story because it was not fully planned at a point. The story was changed and some things were retconned. The third coffin was initially supposed to be Minato, but it was later changed to be the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju. This change was likely made because Kishimoto wanted to make Hashirama a more important character in the story. As for Orochimaru being able to summon Minato, even though he was sealed away in the Reaper Death Seal, this is a plot hole that has never been fully explained. It is possible that Orochimaru was able to find a way to break the seal, or it is possible that the seal was not as strong as Minato thought it was. And, the reanimation jutsu is a powerful and versatile jutsu, but it is not without its flaws. There are a few inconsistencies and plot holes with the jutsu, but these do not detract from the overall enjoyment of the story.
