HasLab GI Joe Classified Series Dragonfly Delay 

😂😂😂Where are you getting 6 months from they said late summer EARLY fall so that ment sept/oct (I don’t know when you think summer ends and fall begins but you might wanna look at a calendar) and why do they need to compensate you because it was delayed (maybe you should go over your terms and conditions you agreed to when you purchased one) and when the dragon fly was announced last year no one there hiss tanks yet they were released in …….DECEMBER…..September 22nd is the last day of summer the dragon fly is delayed 2 months

@@George-de6hd i guess it's because at the beginning they said early summer that would make it a six month delay It wasn't until later they switched it to late summer or early fall Me personally I won't be giving them anymore haslab money until I receive my 2 dragonflies

Really had the same deal last year with the Hiss tank not arrving till months after paid for Dragon FLy

They really need to give something extra for something out of our control. They need to get this right and have a contingency plan for things that happen like this. A sign of good will is adding an unreleased figure for free with your order or giving you a voucher for $50-$60 worth towards free product. Make it good Hasbro.

Agreed! It's a setup they've done too often and it's an easy fix even if they don't get four out a year.

Like the Hiss tank was in hand when dragon Fly was funding thats right Hiss tank didnt ship until months after dragonfly funded and expect something different this year

Just two weeks ago they gave an update and everything was Go, none of this nonsense. So were they lying then? Why would there be a faulty product anyway, they certainly got enough time and money to do this up right. No excuses!

If this Vintage Collection HasLab doesn't fund, I imagine Hasbro will make some different choices at least on that front.

@@LylesFigureFiles Looking at those stretch goals - it doesn't look good any of them will be achieved and as we remembered from Giant-Man, Hasbro ALWAYS has a couple of thousand backers hidden during the campaign.

@@LylesFigureFiles The ironic thing about this, is that despite all the other brands struggling with their Haslab campaigns - GI Joe seemed to be the most secured. But not anymore.

That's not a bad fraction of the price though I don't want a bad QC-ridden HasLab on time.

The delay in itself isn't a big deal. Just wondering why do an unboxing and have folks waiting til the end of the year for it.

Oh yeah. Take the time to get it right. Just wait to get it right and out the door before hyping the next one.

Oh they for sure over compensate on those release dates. For example, Torch who was scheduled for a September release date now en route or available in some stores already.

It's getting that expected final surge and looks like funding won't be a problem. The rest of the tiers? That seems less secure.

So what's your humble opinion on using tooling that's tried and true to produce more gullwing variants? Maybe a translucent night ops, and solid color shattered glass? 🤔 _seems different enough to not step on the toes of the exclusivity of what was done for joecon and botcon._

We will always endeavour to put out products that will stimulate the collecting community and provide what most people want. Those exclusives were never litmus tested to know if they will work on a larger scale production, hence chosen as event exclusives.

@@LylesFigureFiles to be quite frank, I haven’t paid any attention to the HISS tank nor this Dragonfly in terms of their built and accessories. All I can say is production delays on a new tooling normally stems from the tooling itself having a variety of parts that needs to all come together and fit nicely I don’t see how production capacity will be the cause of delay as Hasbro is big enough to have any factory “make way” from whatever they have on the assembly line to fit it the production of Hasbro. But all these is just surmise.

I just found the whole wave of Doc, Torch, Jinx and Night Creeper at one of my local WMs two days ago……I pre-order everything in the Classified line but the distribution is so weird that I still look for them in the wild and then cancel the pre order if I get lucky and find them first

It's not the best business model for sure! Especially if folks start having problems with the first one.

I'm sure this has something to do with their stakeholders, but it sure feels like even if it's 13-18 months before putting the next HasLab up for order so we get one before the next one is up for pre-order.

I saw it coming when they did the unboxing for the dragonfly and said well we're still working out on King stuff like that they said the same thing when they finally unboxed the his tank

Right. I wouldn't be upset knowing what the delay was. We're all "adults" in this hobby and would understand that more than vague delay announcements.

Hasbro should require a nonrefundable 50% deposit, then the remainder of payment before shipping. Doing so puts both sides on the hook, not just the customer. When Hasbro makes these Haslabs, they dont just make the exact amount that was backed, they have to produce at least 10% more than what was backed to make up for broken/missing parts or lost shipments.

@@randomposter5665 I don't know, a nonrefundable deposit would complicate the whole thing without any real benefit for us the customers. Since I'm paying for it anyway, might as well pay up front, personally I prefer it. And it guarantees Hasbro won't cut corners with only half the budget available. I mean, look at the HISS, it's such a premium product, which got delayed to December as well, but quality was great. I actually expected a similar delay for the Dragonfly and doubted we would have delivery by Summer. Let them take their time, I wouldn't want to get it a few months earlier but with quality issues. I already have a lot of other Classified releases to keep me occupied in the meantime!

Every year there's folks that didn't back a project willing to pay higher after market prices for these HasLabs. Hasbro wouldn't be struggling to find folks interested in buying it when it was available.

I was probably going too far with the free figure. A $5 voucher for Pulse seems like a decent "apology."

That makes sense. I wish they would communicate stuff like that with us.

I mean that's just a basic business practice. Let your client base down, throw them a bone that ultimately doesn't cost you anything and encourages customers to come back and buy something else.

Again. I agree. I just got my hiss at a a small show and want to buy the hams and fire but, homie. The next haslab is about to start funding and I really want once a man and enforcer. God knows what else they may reveal. I’m whining. Still excited, though

That's why I'm thinking a voucher would work best. It's just a slip of paper and encourages future Pulse sales.

@@LylesFigureFiles yeah stopped getting line due to worrying when if Preorder would release on a bad week we all have them. Doing it this way allows me to just pay on the credit $25 week average without stressing when preorders drop. Stil have a bunch of hones to fill just when get around to it.

The minimal difference from the VAMP/Stinger and an upfront payment for the Dragonfly is certainly odd.

I dunno. I just wish we had one in hand before they "borrow" more money to pay for the next one.

Oh I get why they do it. Sideshow has more expensive items and they have no problem doing payment plans and they're far smaller than Hasbro.

@@LylesFigureFiles I normally don’t complain. It just feels like every major corporation is taking advantage of their supply and demand power as we are being smothered by this economy. I get it, Toys are not essential. But F man, if you’re are a hard working lower or middle class person, now even w/ your hobbies you can’t find an escape, we’re just permanent slaves to the grind.

That's not how business works. Those funds go towards production costs which are pretty significant. Not making excuses for Hasbro but this whole notion that companies leave revenue to sit still in some account to accumulate interest is just completely wrong.

@@tacticalcrusader3709 There is absolutely no reason for a multi-billion company to have 0 risk in this process. If you need to gauge demand you take non-refundable or refundable with penalty down payments. Afterwards you go into production. Once the item is ready to ship you charge the outstanding balance to the customer. If they cannot collect 100% of pre-orders, obviously that is already calculated into the equation against the true cost of production and potential profit margines. With such a large window of time they could produce the item in batches all the while banking interest on money they’ve already collected. Let’s be honest, they are not producing cars. The design has already been done, molds have already been created. All they need to do is go into production once the customer pays. Again O risk on their end!!!

@@kickflip800 Well I've worked on this side of the equation and moving straight to production after generating a prototype is not done as simply as pushing a button. There's a lot of leg work involved with getting production lines ready and materials in place for a large production run. The molds they do have at this stage are just for prototypes not mass scale. They don't invest into mass scale production preparation until the project is funded. There's a reason that they are a billion dollar company and its because they minimize their risks, including utilizing the crowd fund model.

Not sure if it's that simple that they don't care so much as in the event something doesn't come as promised, do something else to acknowledge a mess up.
