HASSE né près de Hambourg, il reçut la formation musicale de son père organiste de l'église de BERGEDORF. Il choisit la carrière lyrique, et entra dans la compagnie d'opéra du GANSEMARKT dirigé par Reinhard KEISER. Il est considéré comme l'un des maîtres de l'opéra séria italien au XVIIIe siècles. Merci pour ce chef-d'oeuvre de HASSE qui est Eternel sublime.

NB: In Hasse’s version of this aria the second person singular changes to third person singular! Jarba is not saying this to Didone but about her. Cadrà fra poco in cenere il suo nascente impero e ignota al passeggero Cartagine sarà. Se a lei del mio perdono meno è la morte acerba, non merita superba soccorso né pietà.
One reason that I am sharing recordings by Valer Barna-Sabadus and David Hansen is that they are reasonably successful in reaching the sopranist range with good tone, vocal focus, and enunciation, something rather rare for countertenors. A quarter of a century ago, Aris Christofellis was able to sing sopranist; however, one had to become used to his unusual sound (see Aris uploads on my channel.)
