Nice little fellas. Wouldn't open the lid on hatching day as they might get stuck if humidity falls. I stopped breeding button quails as they might pluck the feathers of joung finches that cannot fly properly yet. I still have one pair though which is quite tame. 🙂
I'm doing the exact same thing right now! My quail eggs are being incubated for a week right now. Hopefully I wil have the same cute chicks in about 2 weeks. So joyful to see the reaction of the children. ❤
King quail are so cute! I have a pair in my aviary. Am making things ready for breeding season in a few days now and I am hoping that they will hatch out some chicks this year :)

I was struggling, checking day and night to get my humidity up as my house is not insulated. I put the Styrofoam box and several blankets . I also put a big bucket of warm water to keep up humidity up but struggled to get to 60c today I am a mum of 4 babies so far.....rest are rolling around like crazy.

I too have button quails in incubator.. i have 2 with 10 eggs in each.. i was hoping to see the website you said would put for info and other stuff from garrie landry.. can you please supply that info if possible.. excited to see whats next.. thank you
How to kill quail eggs that’s to open the incubator before lockdown day has there shells are much more thicker than chicken eggs you should get 80% hatchling
First 2 weeks they should have a heat source even if the weather is warm. Place it in a location where they can access it if they’re cold and can move away from it when they’re hot. Once their bodies are fully feathered you can reduce the heat for them.
Thank you so much for your reply🙏🏻❤ Can i just place "5V heat pad" in one corner of the brooder for 1 week old chick? Or does it still require heat-lamp?
I don’t have specific temps that I keep them at. I place a heat lamp in their cage and let them adjust by moving closer to the heat lamp or further away to regulate their body temps.
