I've been following them since the early 90's. Rey still kickin' it out. Even played one of their songs at my wedding reception. Love this band.

I remember the first time I heard of these guys, it was when 'check your people' came out. I went into Backside records in Burbank and asked if I could have the downset poster they had on the wall. the guy I asked was James, I didn't know who he was. he said 'yeah, that's my band', and I was like 'yeah sure'. he pointed to the poster and said 'that's me'. I looked back at him and then back at the poster and I was like 'oh shit' lol. I'll never forget that.

Easily the best hip hop influenced hardcore band and it’s not even up for debate. Do We Speak A Dead Language will forever be one of my favorite hardcore records ever.

Saw Downset support Pantera in London in 1994. They played Anger twice. Fucking amazing.

This is the coolest band...EVER! The crowd coming on stage during Anger is...HISTORIC! Just amazing!

Still lovin Downset i saw this band supporting Pantera at Brixton Academy even managed to hang out with the bands at the pub after show and bought Rey a pint of Guinness he loved it ! one of the best gigs ever thanks guys .

Rey definitely out of gas here but still the greatest. There is something special about how the man holds the mic out to individuals in the crowd. Words are sacred to him.

I miss the mid 90"s and very early in 2000. Hatdcore had rules and the the scene was more tight. Hardcore was a lifestyle not a commercialized bunch of poseurs competing or talking about who has the sickest breakdown. The Nostalgic feeling i have right now. THANK YOU MEAN PETE FOR SHOWING ME THE WAY. YOU ARE LOVED AND ALWAYS REMEMBERED

Saw Downset in like 2001 at the Trocadero in Philly... Seeing this, 18 years later, I think I might ALMOST get it. Or at least be closer to understanding. Bravo.

Damn I didn't realize downset was still playing as of 14. Saw them at club babyhead in Providence RI back in 97, ran right into the singer mid-song on my way off the stage, I'll never forget that.
