It has to be more vibrant as is because the color will eventually wash out. It’s only that bright because it’s being sold and if it was immediately sold pastel then all those pastel colors will wash out even further, making it barely visible.
They are correct bro. It’s very pretty, but it’s just not pastel. That’s not “being a hater” that’s just being observant. Those are vibrant, bright colors, which is basically the opposite of pastel.
I have to agree with the comments. Just because it's slightly lighter than your darker one doesn't mean it's pastel. I suggest you looking up the definition of pastel. That's more neon than pastel
Him: it is pastel. EVERYBODY ELSE: it’s obviously not. The reason you get no complaints from paying customers is because they can see what they’re getting.
Bit it is pastel 😂 people are comparing it to extreme pastel or Oil pastel Oil pastels are this color but because of color theory it looks brighter on the black paper which it comes out more like this :)
@@ProGooberNo OP is right, pastel is a specific shade of colors made by mixing large quantities of white with your base colors. The hoodie looks great but it is by definition not pastel. Similar to the concept of “neon”, the word gets used colloquially and people forget it has an actual definition.
@@ProGoober I spent a traumatic semester with a professor obsessed with color theory, colors all have names based on how saturated and bright they are, pastel is an actual classification . These are strong colors
Paying customers are paying for what they see, not the mislabel as you say. That being said, if he did ACTUAL pastel, he might have a lot more customers.
I tried out a catchy negative hook and it’s evolved into me truly second guessing if this design is too bright. Customers can see what The Pastel Classic looks like before they buy it, I’m not trying to swindle anyone! So kinda baiting but not really.. 😅😅
@@JakesTieDye I’m glad you’re showing off your products to your customers so they can actually have an idea of what they’re getting. And it looks great! But people are right, it’s not pastel, the colors aren’t pale/soft enough to be defined as pastel. I mean I would recommend just changing the name of it. Otherwise, yeah it might get you attention and engagement, but I’m sure they’ll still be a handful of people who buy it assuming it’s what usual pastel looks like, and be upset that the product isn’t what they thought.
@@JakesTieDye you might need to reconsider. 😅I can't actually tell the difference from the quick photo at the start to the one at the end without pausing and checking
That ain’t pastel. It’s bright, but pastel is like bright and slightly desaturated Like this is yours: 💙 But this would be closer to pastel:🩵 (Note that the emoji colours aren’t perfect because the are a bit limited)
But are they wrong? 😜 You could call it 🌈 "Neon Rainbow" or "Light Rainbow" or "Bright Rainbow" if you want to be, you know, accurate. But hey, complaints like mine feed the algorithm. It's not really rage-bait, just mild-annoyance-bait 😛
To be fair to you, it is a little trickier to get a true pastel with tie dye since you have to balance the water to dye ratio, and the best way to keep it lasting longer is to soak it in a 1:1 solution of cold water and vinegar after its inital rinse
Yeah sure that's pastel and I'm the pope... In all seriousness, I'm an art student and I can 100 percent say that is not pastel. Better marketing for it would be listing it as something along the lines of "light rainbow"
Umm... yeah... no. That's not quite pastel. Make it a few degrees lighter/less saturated and it'll be more technically appropriate. Though I guess if the colors fade a bit from the first wash, you'd probably be in the ballpark anyway I don't think any customers are going to complain because *presumably* you've already shown them exactly what they are getting from the image, so they know exactly what they are getting -- if they complain that it 'isn't pastel' despite the preview showing it isn't pastel then complain about it... they're just a pain in the ass more than anything, and quite frankly... are going to have a hard time arguing that they should get a refund when there is evidence that they've been shown what they are supposed to get. And let's be real -- it's a really nice dye regardless of the naming
Looks amazing but yeah def not pastel, closest to pastel is the purple n even then its not exactly pastel. Do ya just legit not onow what pastel is? Or is this just bait? No hate just genuinely curious, again it does look great
it looks very vibrant on video, but also we haven’t seen the pastel rainbow and regular rainbow together in the same room, in the same lighting, in the same frame, so it makes it a lot harder to judge - especially with the way that the camera likely automatically adjusts its settings based on what’s in frame. to get a good idea of the difference between them we would need to see them in the same physical location, on camera together at the same time
It’s a very nice lighter version of the rainbow! Just… not exactly pastel idk like pastel are like very light, desaturated and whiter and that is just lighter rather than desaturated and whiter. Though I’m not trying to hate or anything just saying that it’s not really accurate specially when you compare it to what you find when you search up pastel.
I would say it’s maybe more neon instead of pastel, but still pretty. If most ppl are saying they want pastel and this isn’t it, maybe going even lighter and softer would bring in more customers? 🤔 that way you have this nice bright one and maybe one that’s lighter and more desaturated like everyone’s talking about. Just an idea!
pastel is an alright name for it as it is lighter compared to the other rainbow varieties but i think a more fitting description would be maybe bright rainbow? the colors are a lot more saturated than what most people associate with pastel but also its your buisness and you can name colorways in whatever manner you want! u rock!
The reason you don’t get complaints about it not being pastel is because they look at the picture on the website and see what it looks like. Now, if you simply put “pastel Tie-dye” with no picture and someone ordered it and got that, they probably would complain. Thats vibrant colors, not pastel colors
It actually looks more like neon than pastel! Much brighter than the original, which is not a characteristic of pastel colors. Pastel would be like powder blue, baby pink, butter yellow, etc.
Buddy, Nobody's A "Hater", If It's Not Pastel, Don't Call It Pastel. Nobody's Mad About The Colors Being Vibrant And Colorful, They're Mad Because You're Calling It Something Its Not, And Arguing About It Instead Of Just Taking It As Criticism, And Accepting The Facts
I have clothing that is pastel tie dye. It’s definitely possible, this is the complete opposite, it’s more neon. People who have already seen it and paid aren’t the customers you’re losing. It’s the people who actually want pastel tie dye and then see your samples and realize there’s not a single pastel colour there.
Gorgeous but people get vibrant (saturated) and shade confused all the time.. a color can be dark but not vibrant or have low saturation.. and vice versa ..
It reads as Bright. It’s not all the way to neon but it’s also not all the way down to pastel. Customers don’t complain cuz they can see what they’re getting. But I also own a tie dye tank that I made using pastel pink, pale lavender, & powder blue… it looks like cotton Candy & a cloud had a baby. Funnily, my lavender, rose, & sky blue created punchy colors like your pastel palette.
It's really really beautiful, If I had money I would check out your site and get some shirts for myself, my parents and my sibs, but it isn't pastel I promise xD
I think this would be considered 'bright rainbow" but you def should make a pastel rainbow with like "pink, peach, banana(light yellow), mint green, light blue, and lavender" i would totally buy that
You should definitely do this with pastel colours though, that'd be cool and i might actually wear something like that. It's just way too saturated in my opinion, Way too bright which would discourage mr from wearing it in public.
How to tell if something is pastel: is the red in the rainbow noticeably red or is it pink? If it’s pink, that’s pastel If you have a white dye, you could mix some actual pastel colours and that would be an extremely unique tye die to sell, I’ve never seen anyone genuinely make pastel tie dye to buy. Corner that market instead of lying to consumers about the colours on the top (Also that is literally the easiest tye die pattern to do, with the most common tie dye colours.. so bragging about it is a bit odd lol)
It's not pastel when you first are done with it, but as it is washed over and over again, it will eventually lighten and be more pastel. I have a shirt that I tie dyed that was super vibrant when I made it, but over the years that I've washed it, it has gone to a more pastel color.
Pastel is not a comparative label, it is a type. Pastel colors are "soft and delicate". If a color can be described as vibrant, then it is by definition not pastel. I would say that those colors are neon, and so you could call that the neon version of your classic rainbow. People aren't complaining because it's "too good", they're complaining because you don't know what you're talking about.
One thing I have to say is this It REALLY HARD TO GET A REAL PASTEL COLOR! I tried sooo many times and it never works. This is the closest you can get to a REAL pastel. Also, saying stuff like “ Just because it’s lighter doesn’t mean it’s pastel” can actually HURT PEOPLES FEELINGS so SOMETIMES it better to KEEP YOUR THOUGHTS TO YOURSELF.
Neon Pastels are still pastel. These are a smidge to saturated to be pastels in something like painting or coloured pencils, but for tie dye? And they didn’t muddle up and get messy? I like it but would rename it to neon pastel. Maybe try blush pink and sky blue for your next pastel project though? Something less saturated and make it a truer pastel.
Thats beautiful, but also, did i just have a stroke? How did you get all that yellow in that shirt with absolutely no yellow dye when u made it at the beginning of this vid?
I ain't no hater but i am an artist so js let me say THAT AIN'T PASTEL that is like a neon, neon is much different from pastel. Neon is like really bright colors, pastel is light and soft colors.
