i feel bad for cheetahs cause its hard enough out there but we humans want their fur too and only recently stopped hunting them like crazy...they look too good to be this weak....they may be fast but its not like they can't get tired or theres practical use for speed in your habitat when you want to stay home..running across the country is useless lol...unless you know how to survive...its like if a human moved every day..you would get tired and run out of food...you have to settle on a spot and just hunt there.....making running a useless tool cause it needs time to build up that 60-65 mills an hour speed...so it can be caught by bigger lions cause its not that much better of a jumper or runner at first

I think that boar with the tusks growing towards its head is one of the worst. Imagine the slow painful death, of a tusk growing into your forehead, slowly piercing your skin, then skull, then finally growing enough into the brain it causes death. That’s torture. Also, cephalopods (octopus, squid and cuddle fish) have a very short lifespan. Octopus and cuttlefish average natural lifespan is around two years. Recent studies say they are as smart as human children, older than two years old but younger than 5-10 years old. There is a good book about cephalopods called Other Minds, it’s not a difficult or long read but it’s very fascinating, I recommend it.

There are also other animals that got the short end of the stick when it comes to evolution. TierZoo made a bunch of tier list for animals and there are tons of F tiers. Atlas Pro also recently started a series of island biogeography that might help explain some of the theory.

@catbitmaster8216
@catbitmaster8216 2 года назад
@@princealigorna7468 That may be true, but tool use allows us to overcome our shortfall. While a few other animals have exhibited tool use, due to our opposable thumbs, we can use far more complex tools. Not only that, we are literally extreme omnivores of the animal world. Maybe only a few species can eat things we cannot, but then those species also tend to be more specialized, so in terms of our ability to digest a lot of things puts us in higher tier compared to the rest of the animal world.

Prince Aligorna Tool making immediately puts humans at the top by a _large_ margin. A simple sharp stick gives a single human enough power to 1v1 all mid-high tier species. And any other species that can still 1v1 humans in that scenario get trapped by humans' other claim to fame: their social abilities. An elephant can beat a human 1 on 1, but a group of humans can easily kill it through manipulating the environment, wearing it down, or simply swarming it with numbers. And it isn't like tool making is a holy grail that only a chosen few can do and pass down. Put any Joe Shmoe in the wilderness for a couple weeks, and chances are they'll be able to make primitive tools. It's to the point where if you strip a human of weapons and tools in a vs battle against, say, a tiger, you might as well strip the tiger of its teeth and claws to even the fight. Because at no point would a human go for more than a month in the wild without having some sort of weapon or tool.

For the sloth climbing down to take a sh*t thing, I think I've heard an explanation for that. I think because it only defecates once a week, all the sh*t it has accumulated in all that time comes out as one massive chunk due to it's diet. This causes it to be immensely painful, to the point where I think it actually either briefly passes out from the pain, or the pain causes it to lose it's grip since due to it being wracked with so much pain that it loses motor function during the sh*t taking process. So if this is true, the sloth HAS to descend from the tree, because trying to do it from the tree will more than likely cause it to fall from the tree, which could cause injury or death as well as making it an easy target for it's predators. Basically, taking a dump for them is an unavoidable risk they have to take, but saving their baby after it falls isn't.

The hyena pseudo is an elongated clitoris but it’s also the urethra and birth tract for a hyena. Female hyena’s have high testosterone levels from birth which is probably what causes this which is why I refer to them as the trans guys of the animal kingdom. They’re also larger and more dominant than males. While male hyena dominance is decided by who’s been in the clan the longest cause males leave their birth clan to join another, female dominance is more power based though I think age does play into it a bit but a lot of fights between sisters probably happen.

the fact you were trying to remeber at the beginning was that hippos and cetaceans ( whales, dolphins and porpoises) have a common ancestor and that hippos evolved from one line that, partially, returned to terrestrial life. Essentially dolphins and Hippos are coussins, distant ones but close enough in terms of evolution.

Apparently the reason sloths go through the trouble of descending to the ground to do its business is because, they have symbiotic parasites in their algae covered fur that are very important to their alimentation and camouflage, and also use the sloth's droppings for laying their eggs ; and if the sloth just pooped from the tree, the droppings would just scatter everywhere instead of being neatly laid right under its usual hanging spot, and the insects wouldn't be able to use them or find the sloth afterwards. So that's why. Also the sloth probably knows that by the time she gets down to get her baby it's probably dead from the fall already, or a nearby predator will have snatched it. So it's not worth it. Unlike entertaining the symbiotic relationship.

One of the biggest issues with Kiwis, and literally any animal native to New Zealand, is that they were totally isolated from the rest of the world. Even with Australia being right there, New Zealand had almost no mammals - save for some bat species. The animals that lived there had no real threat until humans started settling it. And then the introduction of all these new species decimated the ecosystem and nearly wiped out its native species. They're still causing problems to this day.
