I like my 95 but it has developed side to side slop in the barrel, I tighten it down and within 10 shots it's back. Probably going to need to find some super thin washers to shim it up.
I have never had a Hatsan metal spring fail, but plenty of gas rams fail. I would love to yank out the failed air pistons and put in metal springs. But that still takes $.
@@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 That's amazing Chuck!!! Sounds like a perfect day in South Dakota.... If I ever have an opportunity to visit I will definitely let you know 👍👍
@@airgunnostalgia4210 I would love to meet you and your family. I think that you would really enjoy it here. Our state is so vastly different. We have extremely flat areas, big rolling hills, small creeks and small rivers, the very big Missouri River, the Black Hills ⛰️ and Mount Rushmore of Western South Dakota.
@@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 Sounds incredible....my work has an office in Chicago so let's see what the future holds 👍 It's a 10hr drive but can be done ✅
@@airgunnostalgia4210 Going from Chicago to South Dakota will be an enormous break from being around many people to few people. Either leaving from Chicago very early in the morning or stopping at a motel along the way is a very good idea for 10 hours of driving.
For the price, you really can't go wrong. If you get a lemon 🍋 send it back and ask for a nother one. I do have some trigger modification video that makes a big difference in performance. 125 dollars at Airgun Depot is a great deal. Just remember to thoroughly clean the barrel, then do a pellet to bore test.😃 www.airgundepot.com/hatsan-model-95-air-rifle-turkish-walnut-stock.html#HC95022
My hatsan 95 in 25 is my backyard varmint plinker. Love it . Had it since it came out over three years now at least....alao i own cometa..hw..mountain air customs. Love my 95
Actually there is a theory of Turkey Neck aiming, where by leaning your head forward into your aim, it helps you be more accurate. I think it actually does help.
Chuck, you and I have experience shooting offhand @ 200 yards, and there is an idea in certain circles that there is little value in shooting from standing position without any type of support other than from our own body. Anyone serious in varmint control around the house or farm, really should begin taking some time to shooting airgun in standing offhand position. Sometimes, by the time you get into a prone or kneeling position to aim, that kritter is likely out of view or moved on. Semper Fi from Texas!
Great video as always. Great shooting in that wind. Been fighting it too long with lots of rain. That 95 is a great looking gun. There's still a lot of love out there for the 95. So temped to get a 95 Vortex QE. That rebuildable and adjustable gas ram is something I been wanting to play with for a while and the QE model looks a little cleaner on the end. Of course the price goes up with each option, but not much. Airgun Depot best not send me a 10% off code or I might not resist lol. Walnut stocks get me every time. I keep kicking around the stupid idea of a .30 caliber 135 vortex QE Carnivore , Like pellets are expensive enough lol. Only caliber I don't have in a springer and they really look nice too.
I like how you have the camera in back of the targets showing the spots and the distance you are shooting from That way some keyboard warrior can't call BS.
Offhand I just watch my 95 front site spin in circles. Too much gun for me to keep steady. Any squirrel would be very safe with me behind the trigger. Rested its pretty accurate. And thats with the crooked sites from the factory... But I like it even with its flaws. The stock alone is worth it. And its a nice heavy hitter. Still need to get a decent scope to see what it can do. Now my Crosman 362 pumper is a dream offhand and accurate. Handy little carbine kind of shooter. Outstanding shooting in that wind. 👍
It's David Geiger. Thanks for the informative video, Chuck. I agree on the comment about the availability of money right now. I got the two Stoeger S4000 22s to evaluate, but the trigger is so far forward in the trigger guard that I don't know if it is the right gun for us. I also got a Hatsan Airtact 22. I like it but it's so loud. It just has a muzzle brake and not a moderator. It also has a plastic breach block. Meh.
Thank you David, it's very good to hear from you. Too bad that other manufacturers are going with that plastic breach block. On my son's Stoeger S3000-C I removed the factory butt pad because it was too thick and made a new butt pad out of an old pare of Crocks. The Stoeger fits my boy much better now. 😃👍
Greetings from Norway i have owned several hatsan guns but its always big imperfections on them sadly and the gassram system has also failed on a couple of them i also got a few gamo guns but its to much plastic on them making them really flimsy so now im only shooting air arms and weihrauch yes they are a bit expensive but they last you a lifetime or more
@@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 Oh, I don't always expect an answer, but I do appreciate an answer on any channel to a question that cannot be deduced after watching the video. But lately I've also been having trouble getting my comments posted. Or they come much much later, with the result that I already had duplicate comments. I am now looking into the phenomenon further, a comment did not work, but I immediately posted it via PC without any problems. Maybe coincidence? In any case, all users should collectively ignore YT completely for a week or longer. Who do you think would win? But yes, sometimes I have those utopian ideas and in the meantime I know that dreams are a fraud.
Hi Chuck, great video and a good comparison between "The Beast" and your 95.. not much in it for accuracy in such windy conditions.. 👍👍great shooting at basically a moving target 😂🤣🤣 catch you on your next video adventure.. peace and love to you and your family from Wild Johnny 😂😂👍🤟✌️
offhand in hard wind.. i like the subject. it really put you to the test. i think for 25 yards its still good. maybe find a spot wehre the wind cant push your body around, and than try the same distance again. maybe use the car as a windblocker. you probably will see a big difference. it looks like alot of fun, to test that out...
Thank you! 😃👍 I like saving small pill bottles, that are around the size of a mouse. 🐁 They are a perfect practice for offhand work. Did not film yesterday, but did a little fishing and shooting the pill bottle with my boy. It's a fun little practice seeing how far out you can hit that little bottle. 😃👍
Chuck, I bought the same one from this rifle. The rifle reached me today. I don't have a crony device. I immediately thought of you. how many fps is the muzzle velocity with 18 grain pellets ? ( Mod 125 spring piston )
@@Laoveyn I don't really remember the last time I tested 18 grain pellets in my 125, because in the initial testing, the 125 didn't like them but they like the cheap Crosman Premier Hollow Point 14.3, initially I was getting up to 964 FPS with them. I'm guessing that the 18 grain pellets will be getting around 825 FPS. What's most important is the accuracy. Hopefully you have a good barrel. Hopefully your barrel block will fit tight and not fall after cocking it. Let me know how it performs for you. 😃👍
@@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 I made about 30 test shots today. There is no chronic problem with the rifle, I think. The only problem that bothers me is that although the rifle has just come out of the box, there are very few scratches on the trigger ( the seller said this is normal 🤷♂️ ). Other than that, I don't understand what you mean about the barrel block. My English is not very good. It would be great if you could tell me about this with a video. Thank you very much for your reply. You are a good man..
Great question.😃👍 Both of my Hatsan's like the Crosman Premiere Hollow Point 14.3 and Crosman Premier Ultra Magnum 14.3 pellets, but that might be different in different rifles.
i had hatsan 125 and sold it becaures too heavy and barrels are a piece of crap but i bought for power but now i got more powerfull 36 ft/lb gun in spring it has the copy of famous reKord trigger of hw its Artemis GR1600 w the rifiling is phenominal you should try it if you had a chance mine is in wood
I'm in the market for a budget brake barrel. Is this it? I don't care if it's Chinese I just want some accuracy and reliability. I'm new to the brake Barrel thing.
@@WCO3 You saw the accuracy from both rifles?😃👍 Hatsan is a Turkish company that produces good rifles. www.amazon.com/Hatsan-Rifle-Combo-Walnut-Stock/dp/B008DZHN1I?th=1&psc=1 The Diana 250 also looks like a winner. The Beeman Teton looks good but I don't know a whole lot about it. www.midwayusa.com/product/1015796369?pid=866795 Crosman is mostly a Chinese product but I have seen good reviews of the Crosman Optimus. www.amazon.com/CrosmanOptimus-Air-Rifle-22-Scope/dp/B0C8V4RKFW Ps, things to look for with your new rifle. 1. Clean your barrel 2. Use blue loc tight on all stock screws 3. Push a pellet through the barrel, if it free falls, send the rifle back. 4. Test lots of different pellets. 5. Use a light hold, and trigger control. Let me know what you decide and how it turns out.😃👍
@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 Thank you so much for your quick reply.. I'll definitely check out the links, still researching. I'm a total noob when it comes to break barrel. looking at a chinese beeman r2. Right now lol 😆
@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 I went down the crossman road chuck, Phantom and optimest. I'm not satisfied with the accuracy even after Tinkering. So i'm back at this video. I just Pull the trigger on a striker 1000x. God bless you Chuck 🙏
i hit a inch bulb holder at 50 meters and busted through aluminium fan blade of industiral exaustfan broken a mica insulator of electrical pole and hunting is exteame with 1600w all this sutf is far cry for hatsan 125 in my personal experience
