After getting it stuck, I went and picked up another 5 tons of gravel and then headed off to the car wash to clean the trailer from the Dodge getting all dirty from Mudding. You should get a wireless remote for your trailer. I haven't used my corded remote since I put a wireless one in my dump trailer. About $125 on eBay.

I know you posted this 6 years ago but I just came across it and if your truck had a flat bed on it I would accuse you of stealing my truck ;-) I have a '95 Super Duty with 7.3 powerstroke and 5 speed the same color and I even have the same droopy front fender. I do envy that your truck has a dump bed and I tried to have one put on my truck but with the inflation today the cost was prohibitive. It was actually just as cheap for me to buy a 7x12 dump trailer that had a heavier dump capacity so I went that route. Really enjoy your truck and trailer combo. I hope it is still giving you good service.

I just sold it yesterday actually, the engine went out on me. I believe one of the piston heads cracked so getting a different truck. It did well for the 10 years I owned it

You need recycled asphalt. The stuff they grind off the road with a cold planer. That will pack down nice in the back and it won't be dusty in summer.

Dude that F-SuperDuty is awesome, I used to own a 92 with a 7.3 IDI in it and it was an automatic. I had it as a project truck and I really regret selling it. Gotta love those early F450 trucks, they have a 15,000 lbs GVWR and the 10 lug wheels, just too cool in my opinion :)

I have a local tractor business and haul it (branson 3510) in my Snake river 6x12 Hyd dump trailer. It's rated for 12k. I'm guessing you had a shorter truck before..? I say this because of the length of the cord for the remote. It's about 6' too short. Mine is about 3' and I need 20' myself. Nice conversion for the truck to a dump bed, 4wd would certainly help.

To take care of the mud in the back. Raise the bed and pull the gate and back over them spreading them backward. And yes you need a wireless remote for sure makes life a lot easier

To do the job right. Get "road felt" then you can use any size rock and you won't lose the rock in the mud.

for a 15 ton you need a 3 axles peterbilt dump truck or any dump truck with the same power to haul that much gravel , 15 ton of gravel it is heavy as hell

Get some 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 rock out of your nearest quarry and lay in on your mud spot.. Smoosh it all in. Mud drys ya got rock hard rock layer. Put on on thick enough is great weed control. But heck you in the landscaping business im preaching to the choir :)

I know this video is a couple years old, but what do you charge a customer for hauling five tons of gravel or whatever for them? Meaning aside from what the gravel itself cost. I'm looking at getting a 14' dump trailer myself to help my little side business grow.

My pit runs 1 inch aggregate for about $4 a ton. That smaller stuff is really expensive.

I would suggest that you get some road fabric to lay over the soft areas and spread gravel over that. the road fabric will be a barrier between mud & gravel and prevent the loss of gravel in the mud. yes the road fabric is expensive, but well worth the money to prevent future repairs of the same spot.

road fabric is called geotextile, its a mesh to allow for natural drainage of water, mesh varies by manufacturer and not as costly if you buy from a distributor instead of the retailer.

Not because it's a dually. Any truck or truck trailer combo over 26k lbs. I think his truck is 15k, trailer might be 10, 12, or 14k. If it's a 12k or more trailer, 15+12=27k, yes he should.

ha ya totally agree. Right down the road is a lot mountains and open land where people go mudding and dirt biking (Like I Use To) and would bring in tons of mud. I think it clogs up their drains but o well

People spraying mud off. Is the reason so many car washes close down. That mud has to be removed by hand from the pit. And its not a fun job. All of our's have signs no mud. And if your caught washing off heavy mud. I think its around $250. fine now. I can see there point. They built these to wash cars. Not spray mud off. We have a lot of people that will scream when someone pulls into there driveway. And lets mud fall off. But then go to the car wash and wash off 500 lbs of mud.. LOL
