The Ultimate Dump Trailer 

Planning a trailer build and had the same idea to mount the d rings on the sides to keep the floor clean. Hydraulic jack is great too. The dual purpose hydraulic tailgate is nice but it does get in the way when dumping large loads of brush that stick up above the sides. Ideally it would clear the sides by several feet when fully raised to give plenty of room for dumping those kinds of loads.

Well , I've got to tell you , I like it but..... it has some flaws. 1. The hijacker jack leg failed first use. The push rod on the ram is attached to the foot pad on the jack stand. The pad foot was tack welded on and the welds broke. You could still raise and lower the trailer on the hitch but had to use a strap to hold the jack up . I had to replace the jack my self because the dealer I bought it from is not customer friendly. Big Tex Trailers , Beaumont Ca. 2. The hydraulic system is mounted in the box , but mine was a little off and one the hydraulic hoses was rubbing against the slot cut in the box for the hose . It didn't rupture it but it's close . I caught it in time and moved the pump my self to fix this. 3. It appears that the metal plate on the lift gate is tack welded also and not a solid bead. I will take a video of these item and post it for you. Other than that It seems "ok". After taxes it came to about 20 k. At that price A little more attention to detail is in order . It seems as though it was built in a rush. Little update , I just got a recall letter for the coupler.

My only concern is with that back door / ramp. Will it give enough clearance for a forklift to load pallets of roofing shingles into the trailer from the back . Obviously it won't work with the gate opening as a ramp . But opening the other way looks like it might not give enough clearance

I will be buying one of these very soon. I was wondering if you have experienced any paint fading with the red? If so, I would just go with the black sides and red bottom. Thanks!

at 1:27, i might have engineered the hoses to the cylinders with slightly different routing.. looks kind of in the way when securing the latching mechanism...

Give it to me straight! No BS. How much for a 14 or 15 footer?And what type of Truck (Chevy, Ford, Dodge) will I need to pull that dam thing without destroying my Engine and Transmission. Thank you serious buyer.
