70 cents a gallon is a huge difference. How can that be justified? Seems like a scam on us.

You got a real bad habit of driving off with the box still up in the air. I'm surprised no one has told you on the jobsites yet. Not only is it unsafe, as a owner operator you should realize that the 2 pins in the back will wear out much quicker due to side to side play you will get by doing that. A extra 20 seconds parked to allow the box to go all the way down will really make you look like a seasoned pro

I feel your pain regarding dirty wheel wash stations, a necessary evil for messy sites, but very annoying to those of us that try to maintain clean equipment. Retired now but I recall the early tire/wheel wash remedies consisted of multiple water filled pits maybe 18" to 20" deep and 10' to 15' long, so by the time you exited the last pit all was good in the world. On the smaller jobs I have even seen a couple of guys with high pressure water hoses on either side of the truck exit giving the tires/wheels a rinse down. As time went on and cost was a factor, portable automated wash stations popped up using recycled water, so it was not to long in the day that the wash water was now recycled mud was sprayed up the truck to the hud /doors /mirrors etc. I admire your, "OH WELL"! attitude about things sadly it it used to drive me bananas. Daum keep trucking and keep the shiny side up.🙃

.... sounds like one of those situations where a company gets contract and subs it out to a second contractor who then again subs out the next step .... back in the late nineties would haul from the Kootneys in BC to Arlington OR in the Columbia Gorge. This site took Hazmat as well as garbage by the train load from the Portland area. The train had open-top containers that where loaded onto trucks and hauled up the side of the Gorge to the mobile tipper at the dump site. Garbage trains from the greater Seattle area went to a site on the WA side of the Gorge .. do not know if that still happens today some 20 plus years later ... i came off the highway in 03 ....

I know contaminated material can be handled differently based on the level or type of contamination but I wonder why ya'll aren't using some type of liner in ur beds to help contain leaks and I thought it odd that u were allowed to dump the contaminated soil directly on the ground with all that water around...I worked for a local hazmat trucking company for 6 yrs and ran all their equipment from the quad dumps to end dumps, tankers, roll offs, pin cans, & vans so yes I'm familiar with hazmat and usually when hauling fuel, oil or other pcb contaminated soils it's handled with much more containment protocols than these guys were allowing.

I had my own environmental company for 10 years. I did nothing but tank removals, installations and lots and lots of excavation and hauling / disposal of contaminants soils

hi you guys.im a 60 year bodyman now still work fulltime i used to drive in my early 20s otr for knudsen trucking outa mn.later on i just did local gas and linseed oil.My dad was a b-29 tailgunner in korea after he got out in 55 met my mom i was born in 62.he somehow loved dumptrucks to the extreme sometimes omg.he did untill the day he dyed.i rember my mom telling him to stop!buying tires.after funeral we found 2 semi trailers full of new michlin tires same size that woulda fit his mack but he mighta been to scared to put them on mom woulda saw that

So way back in the mid 80s we hauled dirty dirt! Old paint residue. Contained PCBs. I Still think I GLOW in the dark to this day Haha. We had to line the dumps with plastics went to a two hazmat dumps! Not going to say where!

I'm glad I watched to the end cuz I was going to say our wheel washers used to hit the cab and all the windows LOL and when we haul fuel contaminated dirt we have a place here in Vegas they call the dirt burner...it's like a little mini asphalt hot plant and they burn all the hydrocarbons out of the dirt or something like that and then the dirt is good to use for fill. That stuff is expensive to dispose of. When I used to work at Holnam on the Duamish they charged $85/ton to take fuel contaminated soil. And that was 25-ish years ago. The cost has to be waaaay worse now.

LOL looks like he was putting a decent load on you, I bet you were not crossing any highway scales with those loads you had 14 metric ton loads there (15.5 tons). I bet you that contaminated dirt smelled a little strong, two of the local gas stations years ago had their tanks replaced. The smell of gasoline soaked dirt would give you the nasty of nasty head ache.

That wheel wash would at least be useful to get the salt off of trucks too...🤣

Wiping your plate off with your hand will eventually wear the paint off and then you'll get a ticket and have to re-register the truck to get new plates. Keep a spray bottle of pretty much anything in the cab, Windex, 409, really anything that will spray and give your plate a few quirts and it will wash off the loose crap without doing damage. I spray my taillights too so I don't get in trouble for dirty lights. Nice video!

Usually if it's BNSF who handles those gondolas if they don't have to go through Tacoma Rail and then be interchanged, I've seen them go through Chehalis to Rosemond Washington or somewhere out in the midwest if they happen to get on a train going to Kansas City.

Is the haz dump in Wenatchee still operational? I used to haul haz dirt over there from Boeing field. It is interesting that you didn’t have to line the box in plastic with it being dirty dirt. Maybe it was just what we had to do for the super fund clean ups.

I can remember when I was kid on the farm “50”s when we changed the oil on the farm tractors we would just pull the plug and let it drain on the ground. Years later I recalled having to mow that abandoned barn lot and could not find any evidence of ever having oil drained on it with all the weeds and brush growing on it and wild life being flushed from it!
