Longhorns, longhorns, and more longhorns! Some light history and backstory on Chevys eight and a half foot bed truck they made from 1968-72. Hope you guys enjoy!
Good afternoon from Cape Cod 🦈 I'm going on 60 and I've only seen one long horn. Thanks for explaining the history of the truck for us. I'm glad I came across your channel I absolutely love the content 👍✌️🇺🇲
I flipped one about 30 years ago, wish I could have kept it. Awesome truck with lots of nice options - A/C, tilt, tach, cargo light, nice interior and trim package. Yours is a beauty!
Love the Longhorn. I have a 71 that my dad bought new. I remember riding home from the dealer in it! I'd love to share a picture of it with you but youtube doesn't have that option. Great video's.
Hey Gold City Trucks! Love what you do bro! Keep up the good work, and looking forward to more vids!Loving the fitment of wheels what size of rubbers you run? Also curious if you have ever come across a year correct box cap vintage retro style? I have a 71 c20 deluxe longhorn original 402bb have had it for 20 some years. I wonder if any new trucks now will last as long as these gems have? “Keep the dream alive!” 👍 Hope to hear back from you.
@@KDN258I have one. I would sell it. But not cheap. It’s in great shape. I would want 1000 dollars for it. You can see it on my truck in of the clips in this video
Gmc records were kept seperate from that of Chevrolet. Gmc records were lost in a office fire. The only production numbers known for gmc of these years are gmc that were sold in Canada.
I once had a Longhorn Camper Special. Check my assumptions: Options were: 8'-6" bed, 9' bed, 10' bed. Also a dually switchover kit including fender flares. Can anybody verify these options?
Just 8.5 foot bed longhorns. Also available were 9 foot stepside beds. No 10 foot fleet or stepside. And no factory dually trucks with a stepside or fleet side bed until 1973.
@GoldCityTrucks Cool thank you for that answer. I still have my 71 K10 6 foot stepside with a 350 engine Turbo 350 and 205 after 30 years. Did it all over a long time ago. Love the videos and I'm subscribed. Take care...
Yeah was familiar with these back in 67-72. Era and looked for them. Few and far between in dealers but mechanic had one for his camper bought new and kept inside truck garage since day one..truck auto and had air cst package..traded in on new. 74. Dually
A garage mech had a 69. White longhorn with camper....since new kept in garage huge with ca,per off and lesss than 60k. Miles on it when he tradd in on a 74. Dually..thar 69. Was pridtine white with a black interior...impressive😅😅
I have a 1971 Longhorn with the big block 400; 400 turbo tranny and one-ton rear end. My grandfather bought it off the showroom floor. It is beat up, but my intent is to restore it and add a little extra to it.
why don't you mention they were 133" inch wheelbase as apposed to the127" of the regular 8' foot box and they came as C20 and C30 and no four wheel drives.
These longhorns were 8.5 beds.. they did also make a similar truck to it that was a a stepside 9 foot bed that was built on the same style one ton chassis as a longhorn .. those didn’t get a cool name or marketing plan.. just a extra long and heavy duty stepside!
Cool videos brother. What part of Washington are you from? I have a 1968 50th anniversary c20. I am the second owner. Its been my favorite truck ive ever owned. 67-72s are just built so much better than the later body style. Subscribed!
