There was a machine 200 miles for from me I played on vacation back in the day... No one believed me that there was a arcade Castlevania that wasn't a play choice nes version.
Omg ive been looking for this game since I was 9 years old. Completely true story i played this game at a Laundromat once and have been looking to see what the game actually was because i only played it for a hour. This has been a bucket list item of mine for over 2 decades now. Thank you very much for answering my quest to play it again.
_Haunted Castle_ starts off well enough with big and nice sprites, and there are some great tunes here. However, the controls feel awkward and stiff, and the brutal difficulty is clearly designed to suck in coins.
I played this game in the arcade as a kid. Never got farther than the second level. This video blew my mind when I started to hear Bloody Tears in the third stage. I did not know they used it in the arcade first. 🤯
Poor Simon looks like he has to take a shit. Love the modern wedding wardrobe tux and white gown deal, and then the rest of the game which appears to be set in the middle ages.
I'm a pretty big Castlevania fan and I had no idea there was a custom arcade game like this. Those sprites are pretty gorgeous honestly, even if it does play like trash.
Die absolut dreisteste Castlevania Raubkopie die ich gesehen habe. Oder hatte Nintendo von denen geklaut?🤔 Aber warum zum Teufel sieht der Typ aus wie ein Ägypter?
I played it a lot back in the day, but never beat it.The game itself wasn't bad. Nice soundtrack. Super Castlevania IV is far superior though. That one is a true masterpiece.
So it started like Ghost and Goblins when your broad gets took, but it plays like one of those old MS-DOS games that you can barely find now but was the only reason you went to the library back in the day. Lol
The only thing missing is Simon sitting in some graveyard wearing nothing but his underwear. 😅 Oh, I remember - a lot of PC games back then had terrible controls, probably due to a lack of quality control in many of them and the inexperience of the developers.
You might think, is this what Castlevania is based off of? No, just the opposite. They made an arcade game to try to capitalize on the popularity of Castlevania for the NES. First there was VS Castlevania in the arcade. Then they made Haunted Castle as a followup. It's strange that the controls are so much more clunky than Castlevania.
