I really thought the H-Tram was going to die. So glad it survived and will get to be rebuilt (again) but Capac has to be the real hero for cannibalising his ship and chasing the H-Tram down to save it. Congrats on the capture at the end and the new lighting in the asteroid looks great.

Capac is a hero, chasing the H-Tram down into unknown territory, while Tiffany just sat in the vessel lamenting its imminent demise rather than trying to make emergency repairs... Come on Tiffany, you can do better than that! Also, the asteroid lighting is great!

Ok the H-Tram needs retiring and put in a museum display. It earnt that after not self imploding hitting the deck. Then we'll get new stories from travellers about haunted museum pieces.

Normally, Assertive Acquisitions is a mixture of explosions and silliness. This week gave us a genuinely nail-biting crash and recovery! And still a better (b)romance than Twilight. Splitsie: "How DO you feel about me, Capac?" Capac: "Ambivilance!"

Its rather interesting the TFE just accepted that the H Tram was dead. Not even bothering to scavenge parts to attempt a midair repair. And then it survived planet fall intact.

Gosh my heart, that near-death of the h-tram and dramatic revival was something ;-; Bit sad we didn't get an after-action report on it this episode, nor saw its safe dock. Also: Couldn't TFE put a second assault cannon on the bottom of The Scorpion to balance out the top one? :p

just a suggestion for the Finglonger... why not convert to have Saddle Bags... so Large Cargo containers, connected via connectors, but each container is only for a specific resource... that way if either Capac or TFE or you create a ship capable of collecting what you need it means if you are short of Cobalt, you pick up that box, if you are short of only Iron.... and so on.... but each box has a welder to ensure once filled and disconnected it can build a new one that has the same uses to only fill, so you get not only the ingots from the haul, but also the resources from the cargo box

that weird miner demands a gravity gen on a rotor and hinge angled and spinning on top to create a giant tornado of stones around it

Epic Skydiving after a ship crashing from orbit to make repairs. This is one of the greatest shows I've found even if he didn't make it in time.

The Finglonger needs a beware of falling boulders sigh. That's the second death from falling boulders, in two separate scenarios no less. Congratulations on the 2 Assert large ions.

Arguably the team's best capture yet. Minimal damage, minimal loss of ships (probably going to find Capac's latest Rumble in the hands of the enemy at some point in the future) and only a few of lost clones during the boarding.

Ok TFE, the H-tram survived the attack and falling to a planet. You have now unlocked the ability to use reactors for your build. 😆 🤣

For Capac’s Shuttle he could fit some of the newer flat atmosphere thrusters underneath so he can lift off faster with heavier weight.

I can see Splitsie setting up an Escape from Mars type adventure for the next few episode with how this one ended. All of a sudden the crew exits their Cryopods and finds themselves a prison ship or in a prison on the planet, the ship they stole all but parts now,. The Crew must Escape from Prison, and reclaim their Asteroid Base.

To be fair Splitsie, you tend to be a lot less aggressive in attacking, and quicker to run away. I think you need to make a cheap disposable fighter to do these capture runs. Use the Frenzy when you are in an escort or support roll, and the cheap one as a means to close in on large ships for capture (smash and grab style).

Glad the HTram survived, props to Capac for that rescue! TFE aka Tiffany seemed resigned to dying in a H2 explosion. That WHI ship is cool as looking

You know you’re fighter is a little questionable when even Capac has a reasonable argument about why it is unreasonable

Skipped forward 30 episodes, skipped 30 seconds, I see the Purple Menace is still there, I am relieved. Time to go back and watch TFE's pride ...or upgrade my starter miner (2x hydrogen, 4 small tanks, on the moon, 2 drill heads)

I think you should build a heavy small grid fighter. Something that can be used for attacking large ships. Since its seems that the hardest to fight ASSERT / ICON fighters, are pretty large. Like, have 10 gatlings and 4 assualt cannons. Especially since you don't need to worry about fitting in the SkyWarp, I feel like the Scorpion could be quite a bit larger, as it isn't really utilising the fact that there arent size constraints on it.

To TFE’s point about gameplay reasons not to make every build do everything, there’s a very big reason. A specialized build will always do its job better. You can kinda see it with the SkyWarp; it’s a hybrid battleship/carrier. It does its job alright, but you’ve had to make sacrifices in the design that a full battleship or carrier wouldn’t have done. It’s still a good ship, but it doesn’t have the fields of fire that a battleship would (there would be artillery turrets where the hangars are), and it doesn’t have the hangar space (and drone fighters) of a full carrier. As a challenge, you might consider a future series where you define a role for a vehicle and specialize it to that role, instead of having it do a little of everything.

The scorpion might do backflips whenever it fires the big gun 😂 And as for catapulting ships at enemy bases, that has far less plausible deniability than if you emulate the Bugs from Starship Troopers, however they don't need to know that the giant "meteor" is hollow and crammed full of high explosives and/or heavy mass material so it does maximum impact. "Oh no!, your base was annihilated by a meteor, so anyways" 🤣

I like how the plan was for Capac to cannibalize his own ship to bring parts to TFE to repair the conveyor line, yet it never crossed anyone's minds to have TFE cannibalize his OWN ship for the same purpose. Might lose a turret or thruster or two, but better than the whole ship...

Hello Splitsie, Capac & TFE :) always a pleasure watching you playing, i'm rewatching the AA Series for the third times, i love it, and basically all of your series. :D I have a quick question tho, i have a solo game where i chill where i basically have all the mods this series have ... My question is about MES i think and the drone attacking you early with TFE on the moon. My mods seems to be working fine, i have multiples planetary cargoships and stuff that flies that spawn but they are "passive" unless i get to shooting range, i have a few planetary base spawn (apparently only "ASSERT research base" for now) but if i get closer to those (and i mean shooting range) then i get attacked but I NEVER get attacked from drones attacking my base like you and TFE seems to have early in the series ... Could you point me toward a explanation/solution to that ? or am i missing something ? Keep up the good work you are all awesome !

6:40 Y'know, if you found one with some decent rear thrusters (something of a challenge, most of the cargo ships are meant to coast) that probably would work to damage some of the bigger, more evasive ships. Alternatively you could just throw the whole Skywarp at them, I'm sure that would drive them away from the asteroid. Some of the more decorative parts of the wheel section on the Finglonger are accessible from the ground, so you could get the steel plate off of those to bridge your way up if you needed to. You also might want to consider a folding ladder, because it's been low on subgrids ever since you redesigned it. 16:51 Deimos cameo The snow patch the Finglonger leaves behind reminds me of how I used to drink ICEEs from the gas station store as a kid, where you'd poke holes in them with the straw once it started freezing up. I don't know exactly how TFE fights with static weapons (though he seems to remain adament on handicapping himself with recoil), but I think a part of the reason the H-Tram has survived as long as it has is because the turrets do the majority of the fighting while TFE remains in third-person, keeping more aware of his surroundings and location. That, and the H-Tram is something of a relic to be preserved given its long survival in situations like this, whereas other ships - like Capac's Frenzy, this time around - are often just discarded. Not sure if that's also TFE's willingness to repair it which brings it back or not. I believe the planetside outpost is the first we've seen of PARALLAX since the last major jump, though I could be wrong. Interested on if they come up as an obstacle in the ARC lore regarding the planet.

Capac going down to rescue TFE was SUPER cool, one of my favorite eps so far.

You see TFE if you had wanted to kill it you should've made it slam face first into the ground, destroying the helm. Though... I guess he hoped for the tank to go boom.

How and When did you find so many resources so close together? I can only ever find up to 3 resources within about 150 meters. But you found all of them!

So, I have a suggestion on how you could, in theory, get the Skywarp's airlocks to work properly. I would suggest having a motion sensor built into each airlock, with it's detection range consisting of just the center space of the airlock, the exterior airlock door, and two to three blocks past the exterior door, with the sensor set to toggle the airlock's vent fan, so that the vent fan will depressurize the airlock when an engineer is present in the detection zone, and then pressurize the airlock once the zone is empty of engineers. Of course, one major requirement for this possible system to work, would be for there to be a program set up to close the Skywarp's airlock doors after they've been open for a specified period of time. You may want to have two separate programs for doors on the Skywarp, one for engineer sized doors, and one for the larger hangar doors, each with different wait times before the doors close.

I've got a question for you Splitsie or anyone who can help. I have a large grid ship with torpedo tubes capable of printing small grid torpedoes with the help of a small subgrid to connect the conveyor system to the torpedo to fuel it before launch. I was thinking it would be nice to also make a printable recon drone that you can control remotely from the large ship. But that would require an antenna on the large ship, and a large grid antenna is simply too big and ugly to fit. I got the idea to put a small grid antenna on the small subgrid in the torpedo tube and control the drone that way somehow. Is that possible. Can't test it myself currently so I'm wondering if it's worth trying later.

I kinda hope that you capture a mining and refining system on that asteroid. You know your build is bad when even capac tells you to make it decorative and put your functional ones lower

Heys splitsie really hope you see this, me and my mates are playing your scrapyard mod pack and tried to add new mods just a window mod and a door mod but it caused major issues for the server, ill be messaging you just about everywhere else to really hope you could at least point us in the right direction, new to space engineers and your vids are a god send to a "noob" like me

well, now you need light\paint lines inside the tunnel base as a reminder of the direction like giant colored arrows , so you don't need to go in the tunnel and look for the lighting , but already know the direction . too much ? too much .

there really should be a way to change the skin of those thrusters. that way you dont get a bunch of thrusters you dont want to use cause they dont look right. either a paint tool type mod, blueprint type mod, or fully custom components that dont grind to scrap but cant be broken down in an assembler.

I know there are "behind the scenes" people that help but are those people actually the enemies flying the other ships?

Would still loved to see a atmospheric miner with the name of mole five drills in star shape to fly underground and chew your way through the deposits. Also would a drone even work? your missiles stoped calculationg becaus server said to much load ignore the small stuff.
