Playing, teaching and failing at survival and engineering games.
If you've managed to get through all the videos here, you can also take a look at my other channel where I play all sorts of games with my good friend Capac Amaru, it's over at ru-vid.com or my Twitch stream VOD channel at ru-vid.com

I think you're close to the right idea with the hovertrike. But instead of going all wheels, why not have the back wheels as regular propulsion/friction/steering and the front be zero-friction skid? Or vice-versa?
It is seriously awesome that SE models real train physics emergently. Since I assume the devs never imagined this madness. Almost as awesome as the train itself.
The trike should have been more stable if you went with 2 wheels widely spaced up front, and one trailing. Maybe draw inspiration from the Aptera beta prototype? (Google image search)
As I was watching the train come together, I was thinking about your decoy buggy idea.... why not use them as stabilizers with merge block detachment, so they can be released on the go... would be multifunctional and interesting way to help stabilization of the full length train, and you could have 2 to 4 per car..... just a thought...
I've had success avoiding damage on small grid drill conversion by adding a conveyor frame on the advanced rotor, then the converter. Or place the converter, then on the face use small conveyor tube to add in 1 more small grid space between the drill and the rotor.
What about a weathervane on the water tower? Put it on a rotor with a timer block and have it shift back and forth say, 30 degrees, so it looks like it's turning in the wind?
I thought you were going to build a whole train platform, for the entire length of the train, not just the water tower. Still, it more than looks the part.
@Splitsie - if you add one of your small flatmo's to the nose of your engine with slight override, that may help out. Also, if you add a flatbed in front of and behind the Dog excavator car for clearance, that gives you somewhere to put your hover bikes!
It seems like not salvaging enough of the rail bridge sections to build a bridge over the base that the whole train can park on is a real missed opportunity.
IDEA FOR DECOY MINI-ROVERS!!! Long time fan, love the content, got the perfect workshop creation for your 'decoy' rovers for the train! Easily re-creatable in scrapyard (did it on other scrapyard servers) Wont let me post workshop link (which is fair I guess, not getting link spammed) However if you search "monowheel" with no filters, sort by newest first, it is the one by Floaties for Ankles (only 22 results in total so should be easy to find)
If you replace the head of the drill on the Dog Excavator from 18:31 with a grip assembly, you might be able to pick and place the turret. Might, as I expect it could just tip over the cars trying to pull that off and drop it down without outriggers.
Maybe should invest a solar array carriage, folded in for travelling and when parked can charge for when you're offline, a few pistons to give it height over the rest of the carrage or expand width wise
Instead of a huge train as it seems 11 carriages are too much for a single train why not split it into 2 and hire the best F1 pilot the world has ever seen to drive the 2nd half? The one and only Capac Amaru 🤣. Double the trains, double the chance of actually getting ice.
Thinking about it, instead the remote, why not add a signal setup so it doesn't matter how long the train gets, you won't have to re-add it if something changes too much. Just have the signal toggle the brakes and there you go.
The train looks amazing whilst moving, the slight rolling really gives it a train feel... But yeah, careful with those jumps, thats not going to end well.
Might check the batteries on extra train cars. I had a series of battery packs connected together with connectors and I had to enable Override Power Transfer on the connectors to get the batteries to charge.
Could set up drag car without using Parking Brake>? 1. set speed limit on towed car? 2. Increase friction on towed cars? 3. Combo of friction and powering in opposite direction in last car? 4. What happen if u can put thrusters on a car and tell it to hold position/orientation? 5. Gyroscope? 6. Momentary Locking of all coupling? 7. Program brakes to cycle in ALL cars every few seconds
I think that you need to make the lead locomotive larger. Often times the engine is larger than the cars it is pulling. Right now you can't really tell the first car is actually the engine car. Just a thought.
