A beautiful song called The Braes of Locheil (Bràighe Loch Iall) performed by Seán Heely with Chao Tian, chinese dulcimer and Tom Teasley, percussion at the Library of Congress August 2019.
At the age of 75 I am still learning and love it as it was the language of my ancestors from the Highlands and Western Islands and down to the Borders until we came to Australia in the 1870's

That's great! My grandmother was from Ballarat Australia and traces her routes to Jedburgh and Wales. We have MacDonald heritage as well. 😊
I’ve been searching all evening for Braigh Loch Iall, and this is by far the best version I’ve heard. Thank you. Can I ask? Is thus in USA? Kind regards, Angus

Thanks Angus!! I'm glad you like it. Yes this was at the Library of Congress in Washington DC ☺️🎻🏴
@ thank you for the reply Sean. I am so pleased that American Scots sing this. I was watching Alba last night (Gaelic TV channel in Scotland) and heard a beautiful version of Braigh Loch Iall, on the TV programme Prosbaig. It was sung by boatmen on the river Clyde in Glasgow, and your version is just as good. All the best, Angus
Any chance of a cd of your songs? Your voice is so lovely

Hi there! Thank you very much. There is a CD with one of these songs and more great music out currently called Glencoe Lads ~ Homeport. Available on my website seanheely.com Currently working on another album to released in the Fall 2022. It will have a few Gaelic songs and lots of original instrumental tunes. I have hopes to record a full length studio album of Scots Gaelic (Gàidhlig) songs in the near future. ☺️
