I love how Frank is giving a second chance at life and he just goes back to drinking beer and watching Ancient Aliens! I swear that would be me I would go back to watching American hauntings and drinking miller lite!
I picked this game up over the summer and struggled with it, primarily because I had no clue what was going on. I'm glad that you covered this because I now have a better understanding of the game & how it works-- plus I learned some things that I didn't know about the game in general. Thanks for this!
@@MajinCCBThePrince I wish there were walk-throughs when I was a kid. There were more than a few games we just couldn't figure out what to do, tried everything we could think of, then gave up. A good example is Flipull for Gameboy (and you bet we lost the instructions).
@@scramblesthedeathdealer true, but it's to the point these days that it's easy to not even bother trying to figure out a puzzle, just look it up. Kinda ruins alot of games, it's ok not being able to beat a game.
@@MajinCCBThePrince I absolutely agree with the second part, I haven't beaten most of the games I own (at least without a little, or a lot of cheating 😔). 😆 It's all about having fun. Like the name of the NES, Nintendo *Entertainment* System. Everyone has their own idea of what is fun, and it's only a competition if you enter one. I'm not very good at most games, but they let me take a quick break from the stress of life, maybe a good hit of nostalgia. 😊
This game is a perfect example of what we gamers are thinking of when we reminisce of the first decade and a half of the console era...the 80's and early to mid 90's. We remember and appreciate just how good, fun to play and entertaining the ingenuity of simple gameplay could be.
Great episode, good Frank ratio. Send my deepest sympathies as well as a pat on the back for the resurrection. Maybe your best episode yet, probably because it was Sega ;)
I know I’m a little late to reply to your comment, but I couldn’t help myself.. I was JUST saying that same exact thing to Jesus at the Prosecutors Office yesterday! It’s completely understandable that they went to sports. But now that they make more money of their yearly FIFA game (the virtual cards) EA should make amends for their decades of evilness bestowed upon us all!!! Make games like Poulterguy! Or even Skitchin’! Road Rash, Jungle Strike, Mutant League Football, Populous, oh SHIIIIIT!!! GENERAL CHAOS!!!!! I friggin LOVED THAT GAME!!! EA could at least try to atone for their many MANY sins. They’re still going to hell no matter what. But maybe they could move up from the 7th layer to the 6th….. Maybe?
I love this this game! I remember, though the scares being really jarring for how explicit they were. You'd have some scares that'd be laughed out a children's haunted house ride at a cheap fair, to shit like a woman peeling her own skin off, the Buzz saw hacking people up, and then the car trunk full of one of the Sardini's body parts.
Can't believe someone reviewed Haunting. This is one of my favorite games and such an over looked game. I never hear anyone talking about Haunting and its great that its getting a little love. Great review, brother.
This is Pat's best video so far next to Alisia Dragoon, and Frank's acting is actually really good. Got a great laugh out of the beer joke at the start. Keep up the great work!
Yay a new NES Punk episode and I'm in the under 300 club! :D Pat might see my comment! That would be my dream! ... I need to get a better fucking dream I just realised...
My life is now complete... I don't even know what to do anymore. Pat noticed me... Life has now become meaningless. I shown my friend that Pat the NES Punk replied to me and tried to tell the full truth. I think I said something like "Oh me and Pat? Yeah we are best buds, we communicate online all the time. I'm going to his brother's wedding, I'm best man with Pat you know. Yeah things are getting pretty serious. Pat and I even caught the bouquet together at the wedding. I dunno what that means but obviously no homo." That was pretty much accurate wasn't it? No homo. Love you man. ...no homo...
wow, you really are getting Frank to participate in the storylines a lot more! Hooray! Maybe you and him can do your own feature length production like the Nerd!
I remember playing this a long time ago and enjoying it, but I unfortunately had a bootleg version of it, and it was missing the intro. Just dropped you in the game with no explanation and didn't make a lot of sense at the time. Good to see it again.
I always loved this game as a kid. When I was in highschool in my rom days it took me forever to figure out what it was called, just looking through lists of games.
I'm Ian's defense, I've seen Pat's Haunting starring Poulterguy video and forgot about it. I was intrigued by it and looked it up and discovered I'd seen it already.
This was a game I got countless hours of fun out of as a kid. The one big gripe I had was that because the Sardinis tend to run back and forth between a set number of rooms, your chances of entering some of the more interesting rooms (like the garage in the first house) are very limited. That end boss fight is a complete joke, too. Accuracy is not one of this game's strongest points, and you somehow need to be spot-on with your shots.
whoa. i was worried there. i'm glad Frank decided to go back into his body. he makes the episodes so much fun! he should do a little stretching before Pat comes over. he probably is a bit stiff. no i don't mean that way. good episode. i really like this game. i don't remember if i had it or my friend did. he lived across the street so who had what is confusing now.
When the video started, I glanced at the screen and did a double-take. For a second it looked like Frank was wearing an Intercontinental Title Belt shirt
dude this game was worth renting for the weekend when i was a kid back in the 90s. I remember I showed my friend who had a SNES, and he begged his mom to get him the sega genesis just so he could play this scream bloody gore game. sadly he never got one, but everytime I'd rent it he'd come over and I'd let him play :)
I loved this game as a kid. I never owned it but I always rented it at the local video store. I've been looking for this game for years since every once in a while I forget what it is. Still great game, never beat the game but I still loved how each item could turn into evil uses.
You know you've seen too many Troma movies when you immediately misread "Polterguy" and "Poultrygeist." And this is coming from a guy that owns Polterguy, complete with box and manual.
I want to thank you SOOOOOO MUCH for reminding me of this game. It was a game my brother and I used to play together. I love it and so does he. you are the best at reviewing games. James brought your channel to my attention. He is who I watch when I want to choke on cookies and shoot roy rogers out of my nose, but when I want a video that is honest true to facts, heart felt with just the right amount comedy and is infromative, I watch your channel. You have added many games to my library of roms. Thank you and keep it up.
i used to watch my dad play this all the time when i was a kid, one of my fav retro games ever and im sad we never bought it for our genesis, only rented :
I loved this game on the Genesis and still play it today! Has anyone else checked out Poltergeist on Vita yet? It has a similar play style but the art direction is very different and a nice change of pace.
This really was a great review. Frank did a oustanding job! I certainly certainly don't dislike him, but I did wonder why people liked him so much. For the most part other than one other review I recently saw that I missed (Track and Field) I thought he was just a guy who was kinda there, but he never bothered me either. He was great in this episode! Also this a game I always saw at the rental store, but I just never tried it out. I played a lot of Electronic Arts games back in the day (and not just the sports one ha) General Chaos was a favorite of mine, but this was one I just never got around to seeing so it was interesting to finally see gameplay of it. I loved this review all around.
It's videos like these that help me to remember there was a time when EA wasn't totally twisted and evil. Sorta like when Luke could still sense the good in Vader. It might actually be buried deep in there somewhere.
