Elizabeth Debicki's styling is such a shame because here you have someone who, as you said, has model proportions and should technically be very easy to dress beautifully and even boldly. They should be giving her their most elaborate and exquisite pieces to wear. But alas, she is either allergic to serving, has very poor taste, or is being given these horrendous pieces for sponsorship and she can't refuse. In any case, not since Margot Robbie have I seen someone so undisputably lovely be dressed so poorly.
I read your comment multiple times and I have to say I love your writing style. Your sentences are beautifully put together and I would definitely read a book if you ever wrote one.
Agreed. Maybe she should work with Margiela, Schiaparelli, etc. - one of the more interesting brands. She is dressed as if she were going shopping with friends in LA.
As an Australian it hurts to agree with you on this but…alas…here we are! I was totally underwhelmed by the Dior pieces worn by celebrities for this show.
Am I the only one who has recognized the fact that the knots of the sleeves of Zendaya’s look is a reference to horse manes? It’s knotted in a style that is done for dressage- that coupled with the train that looks like a tail, he literally made her into a horse. Elevated western/Spaniard aesthetics are part of the Schiaparelli house code, so I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone talking about it. Personally I think that Zendaya look is sensational.
Not buying it. Might preserve the petals for a few days, but once you sew them with a needle, there is a hole for air to get in -causing brownness. Pretty sure they are silk rose petals…fake.
@@hautelemodeRose gardener here - it wouldn’t work and even after just a few hours would Brown and ‘hummingbird nectar’ is not going to stop that. I can’t image how one could sew a real rose petal.
The Anya Taylor Joy look would make more sense if the dress was shorter so you could see the boots with an interesting jacket it would give sort of an Anna Sui rockstar look.
I think the reason why Zendaya always looks amazing is because she know how to carry a look really well (her posing, styling, haircut). If you give the same outfit to someone with the same proportions it won't look as good.
idk how valuable this suggestion is, or if i'm just kinda fashion-dumb lol...but what about a video comparing different brand/designers similar "house codes" or techniques? for example, I see the kim kardashian margiela look, and you talk about the holes cut being something they have done for a few years...but it also reminds me of the bottega veneta (leather?) dresses with floral "embroidery" that was actually holes cut in a similar way. are these coincidences, my brain being off, or references to each other? i think sometimes it's also a particular designer's technique and then i have a hard time remembering when they move to different brands. another example you have touched on before is how thom browne gets away with his stripes even though they are close to adidas. i was also thinking/wondering about the signature red, white, and blue stripes in his garments being similar to what tommy hilfiger tags looked like? anyways, maybe no one agrees, but sometimes when i'm watching a video my brain goes down these comparison rabbit holes. especially because i'm slowly (and painfully lol) trying to teach myself how to tell when a garment is X designer or X brand just by looking at details or techniques.
I think this is a great video idea. I would love more basic, informative video topics such as these. Although I do love the reacts and roasts videos as well.. of course ! 💖
The dress Florence Pugh wore looked like many second-hand dresses you can buy at the beginning of every summer for a couple of euros. Sure. The material was beautiful, but that dress was the total rage in the 90s and early 2000s. And whatever Heart Evangelista wore made my skin crawl.
JLo's floral coat was horrendous until you said it was made out of feathers. Once I knew it was made out of organic elements it worked beautifully. It's a shame because unless you see the feathers up close, or know ahead of time that it is organic, then it looks like is made of silk flowers from Hobby Lobby. Unfortunately there is no way around that. The rose petal jacket was confusing in the photo, but from a distance it looked gorgeous.
I have working eye sight so I agree. I laughed out loud when it came on. It looks comically terrible. I didn't expect to find it so funny. The look is so awkward. Uncomfortable to look at in every way. The feet are giving hoof.
I had to pull up my bra because I had the feeling that I had a heavy dress pulling my boobies down lol. I got physically uncomfortable, not cuz its a boobalicious dress, because its looks sooo uncomfortable
Zendaya looks amazing in the photo of this pony-tail outfit with the sleeve knots but I've seen the video, she has an almost butt-high slash in that skirt under the tail, revealing that she's wearing knee-socks. I screamed WHYYYY!? when I saw it.
@@juliawidmaier5334 Zendaya is brilliantly Futuristic in those amazing gowns and in those appropriately Futuristic bangs. For many Years Zendaya has been Famous for promoting her films via her fashions reminiscent of them. Zendaya's magnificently Futuristic Sci Fi film DUNE2 is set to release in theaters soon. This. Is. Genius-level styling. Zendaya could be a dignified interplanetary ambassador in DUNE. Or a brilliant plenipotentiary in STAR TREK. She could be the daughter of Mr./Ambassador Spock and Lt./Captain Uhura. And anything could have happened via travel. Luggage could have been lost carrying her pantyhose. The knee high stockings didn't really matter in the overall (brilliant) scheme of things. One could easily imagine they are all the rage in the distant future, anyway. lol
@@malakAshraf189?! This is Genius-level styling for Zendaya! For Years now Zendaya has been Famous for wearing gorgeous fashions on red carpets that are reminiscent of her films while she is promoting them. She is beautifully Futuristic in these amazing gowns and those appropriate bangs that complete the Futuristic look. Zendaya has her magnificent, Futuristic Sci Fi film, DUNE2, releasing soon in all theaters and on IMAX right now! She could be a dignified interplanetary ambassador in DUNE in these gowns and that hair. Or she could be a brilliant plenipotentiary in STAR TREK. That Schiaparelli coat that JLo wore 😍 like the person or persons who made it?!? That calls DEDICATION 💯 for the craft of this & for their job!! No wait you need nerves made out of iron!! But my fave, my absolutely 💯 favorite was Zendaya She & Law & her glam team are a super natural team 👏🏻 The looks that this , still so young, woman has served us? All are moments that i can remember (& my brain is pretty much full , can't even remember what I ate yesterday) so for me .... remembering those,,, yeah it's very incredible ✌🏻❄️
Poor Anna-Taylor Joy. Zara dresses fit like that, but Dior? The way the dress fits on the top is awful. It looks cheap despite exquisite lace ,it has no structure and the strap's length is simply unflattering. She has spectacular figure and the dress just doesn't do it any justice. None.
I'm chocked that it's an actual Dior dress, I'd be embarrassed for my client to walk out in that if I were Maria Grazia. Where the top and the skirt meet is the worst part of it imo, absolutely zero effort into making it look seamless and proper + the lace look so cheap.
Love your videos! Could you maybe for future videos give some type of introduction to what show or type of event this is you’re talking about? I for example don’t know what the Haute Couture Event is :/
Hunter Schafer's dress seemed to reference that John Singer Sargent painting of the woman in the black dress (plunging velvet neckline, silk/satin skirt). Fabulous
Here in Spain the series of Cristobal Balenciaga has been released, but I don’t see anyone reviewing it. Has anybody watched it abroad? The gartments deserve a video on their own.
31:56 Zendaya’s sleeves had silk Bantu knots and a “draped equestrian train”. I saw her seated later and so she obviously lost her tail 😅 That burgundy gown was gobsmackin’.
I agree! Zendaya is beautifully Futuristic in both of these amazing looks. She is deliberately putting people in mind of her magnificent, Futuristic Sci Fi film due in all theaters soon and already in IMAX. Zendaya could be a dignified interplanetary ambassador headed to a banquet for dignitaries in DUNE either of these great looks. Or she could be a brilliant plenipotentiary in STAR TREK. She could be the daughter of Mr./Ambassador Spock and Lt./Captain Uhura.
And brilliant Zendaya and amazing Law have not disappointed - though I would have preferred her usual, more modest look for the London premiere of DUNE. Still, it was Futuristic and reminiscent of that magnificent, soon to be released Futuristic Sci Fi film (March 1st - or earlier on IMAX).
Kim’s look seems solid to me. I like the sort of “scaly” look imo. I’m sorry, but when I saw Kylie’s look, my brain kept saying “window curtains” or “thin bedsheets” when I see it, but something felt missing. The shoes are fine, she can keep those. Not fan of her other look, but it’s more interesting and the “wet” theme and gloves actually are intriguing (people call it as some mermaid theme, but I thought it was like someone standing in the rain, but not in a bad way). The constant theme I keep seeing with these outfits I’ve seen up to this point is that there is always something missing at the upper area, which is why Kim’s outfit and a few other intrigued me, but by a bit. Rihanna’s look has to be my favorite, the shawl/collar thing’s shape and size making the silhouette have a unique shape, the necklace filling the void of skin at the neck and chest area, GAH- 😭❤️ I’m a sucker for asymmetry sometimes, so some of these looks are pleasing to see. Zendaya’s second look and Jennifer Lopez’s floral look are also my favorites
Unfortunately, it looks like anya Taylor joy’s dior dress could be from the likes of Zara or h and m 😅 she needs to end that contract because pre Dior contract she was giving much better looks
0:54 love ❤️ it 3:41 looks like a choir outfit 4:09 I like it 6:13 wrinkly mess needs a steamer 12:55 looks like Egyptian loincloths called shendyt 13:05 wth 🤨 17:29 could’ve wore like a feather belt to match the cape 20:03 looks like one of those punch cards 28:43 bed sheets it looks like her met gala look from 2022 31:29 are those ears 👂🤔 31:22 wth are those earrings looks like melted hands 32:49 like a ponytail 33:25 ooooh I like it better then the first one 34:51 my favorite Diannas my second favorite least favorite is jordyns second being Kim’s
Thanks love for reviewing Heart Evangelista's custom Dior Couture dress. I saw her personally in Paris and looked so ethereal on that Dior piece, the detailed texture was insane to look at in person.❤❤❤
Kylie Jenner didn't wear Simone Rocha's design as intended - there was a pearl bra that was meant to be worn over the bust of the dress, which Kylie chose not to wear
I’m back months later to watch this again and I have a question. I’m curious what specifically you liked about the Schiaparelli gown worn by Hunter Schaefer? I sometimes think “T and A” can play hell with couture. I barely noticed the dress due to her incredible bosom! I couldn’t agree more about Zendaya in that incredible Fendi gown. She rarely puts a step wrong. Anyway, I’ve been watching you for years, rarely comment and love your videos. Thanks for all the hard work and the occasional snark. 😊
We know this much, no one is paying for your opinion, which is why I love listening to it, you take no prisoners, your fashion history knowledge is epic.
Zendaya killed both her looks! Ms Elba also looked fantastic. I think if Ms Portman's shorts had been longer it would have looked so much better. Why is it every time I see a Kardashian/Jenner they are unrecognizable from the time before? I'm not a fan so don't see them often but I don't even recognize them most of the time. Does a plastic surgeon live with them, going from house to house, tweaking their appearance? It's not just make up and hair that's doing it.
Zendaya’s Fendi is also is a reference to Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049 - Anna D Armis which refers to Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner - Sean Young.
Anya joy - blah, aggreed . Wth is that boot showing for? *head shake* Florence pugh - her outfits always fit impeccably, but shes not a stand out. Ever.....I feel like she could pull of something more bold but just plays it safe. I was NOT expecting this moment from Jlo. Im impressed. And another coat moment, with the cape in her 2nd look. Jordyn woods - 😬🙄🫣 I actually liked thw 1st kylie look, it felt intriguing with the overlay... and her very soft makeup. It felt almost like an au- naturel pin up Moment. Rihanna- so cool And she nailed this fit for me. Dior isnt always exciting, IMO. But she made the look hers (baseball cap) and in turn elevates each piece. Sabriba elbas look was great! Loved everything about it. And on her. Her short hair fits the look alot for me Zendaya - stopped dead in my track. Phenomenal look. And her haircut (bangs) made the look so interesting and elevated. both looks. But i preferred the Schapperelli look myself. Always appreciate the videos luke! Stay gorgeous

The second woman with the large gold oyster necklace (which I like) looked like a judge because of the shape of the blouse like idk it's just giving judicial sheek and im not the biggest fan
25:57 Kinda feel bad for thinking it was a bandaid after they removed a IV catheter. She looked hot though! Loved Noah in Robert Wun! Andfreaking adoooored Zendaya in Fendi *want*
