@@polish_pete_uk Bravo to you for putting in the work and crunching the data. The “pay to play” posse mostly chose their PL rates out of thin air.

I'll tell you what: I'm running my own google ads. On Sunday I've paid 1/2 pence per click, receiving 206 clicks for my £1 daily limit. That was targetted, i.e. only showing my ads to women, only in UK, with full control over message in add etc. Now, Ebay with their offsite ads would charge me 20-30 pence per click, without any targetting, and any control over the message. Even if somebody says 'pay to play', we have to know what to do to 'pay peanuts to play' instead of 'paying through the nose to play'. I'm literally getting one pence clicks for keyword 'ebay'. This is riddiculous.

@@polish_pete_uk I also run Google Ads. I pay to play, but I don’t pay eBay to play, at least not beyond the base fee!

And who am I to tell you what to do, mate ;-) Fell free to do whatever you wish. Always good to have another person sharing their metrics, so we can find a common pattern. As for me, I don't know if I'm going to follow with more videos about traffic. I'm thinking about it, but haven't decided yet. I've made speadsheet from October (started poor man's), till Februatry, and it's shocking in some columns.

The catch is that you need to have private account. Once you've changed your account to business, you can't reverse it to private. You would have to set up new one. I think they will get rid of it after summer. I can't see them running it indefinitely. Looks like ebay has gone to war with Vinted.

@@polish_pete_uk agreed… also, you would have to be sure you could sell the stuff quick enough to make it worthwhile… otherwise it’s more work for no more results compared to having 1500 items in your store

I did see same in some categories over the past few years, better CTR/CR, but I’m afraid a higher (more than I expected) percentage of what would have been organic sales are replaced with promoted sales.

Look at number and value of sales from organic and promoted, and compare it with your impressions (organic and promoted). This video is about my accuont, and I'v stressed that several times. For me organic to promoted sales are like 8:1. Minimum. While having way much more promoted impressions.

Yes, because it's historically the worst part of the year for me. My monthy sales accross the year are the lowest in Debember. Nobody buys cheap used clothing in this time of the year, as people are shopping for new stuff, as Christmas gifts. 14 weeks in a row I take more money that I've taken in respective weeks last year. 14 weeks in a row! Without a fail. Surely, that means something, no matter what part of the year we're talking about. And then on top of that, my monthly sales in both January and February were higher than in December. Is that Christmas as well, or is it Easter rush already?

I’ve been reducing percentage about .5 per week and stopping a few at a time completely using ESS. Since the beginning of the year I’ve seen similar results as Pete with my CTR. Also been listing 3-5 per day new.

@@Patricia.resells I was at 12% in my main category and have about 1800 items. Yes was promoting all.

I should add I’m currently at 40% completely not promoted and the other 60% are at 9%. Also not promoting any new listings.

My wife uses variation listings. Huge CTR and STR. I sell ladies clothing only. I firmly believe that inching down is the way to go.
