Weather Request, Åland Finland, It's a self-governing archipelago between Sweden and Finland that seems pretty cool! Would love a food review for when I eventually visit!
For the beer thing: at least where I am, it is sold by the load to stores, same with soda. The companies basically rent the shelf space, then have those people(vendors) going to the stores they have rent in to sell the drinks and fill those shelves and set up displays.
Weather Request: Rök, Sweden. Jesse will like this one! Tiny swedish town that has the greatest runestone in the world, or atleast the one with the longest text. The placename comes from the old norse word RAUK wich just means "standing stone".
Weather Request: Iquitos, Peru. Iquitos is the largest city in the world that cannot be reached by road that is not on an island; it is only accessible by river and air. The city is located in the Great Plains of the Amazon Basin, fed by the Amazon, Nanay, and Itaya rivers.
Weather request for Lycksele in Lapland, Sweden! (I WILL NEVER GIVE UP!) We got "fine" pizzerias, bakeries with extortionate prize tags, the world's best coffee (apparently) at Budha's Coffee Roastery, the world's pointiest O'Learys (probably), Sweden's most impressive ice penis/pillar, and summertime invasions by rockabillies, horse jockeys and Evangelicals!
12:16 as a 24 Year old i can agree that i dont give a shit about anything and i think i know how the world works lmao you guys hit it on the dot I just graduated college with a history degree so i just assume everything in the world sucks lol
I'm not saying that banning a platform is the right call, or that it shouldn't also apply to every other social media company, but bear in mind that we've seen some major research published (see the US surgeon general's recent comments on wellbeing) that VERY strongly suggest that better regulation is the only real way to address the negative mental health affects of social media, particularly when it comes to young people. Comments to the effect of "we just need to train people to understand how they're being manipulated, that'll fix it" are rather painfully naïve. If there's evidence platforms aren't fulfilling their duty to safeguard the public, yes they absolutely should be sanctioned.
Tiktok is banned in China, using their own app. They have banned several of our social media, in substitute for their own. Nothing wrong with banning Tiktok ourselves, India did it.
Weather Request: Drogheda, Ireland (Pronounced "Draw-he-da" or as locals say "Draw-ha-da"). It has a mummified head in our central church that's on public display!
Here's how you get good bar service - First, get a fist full of cash. No card. Second, give them 100% of the tip up front and say it. "I don't wanna get drunk and forget, so I figured I'll kick you your tip for the night now." Third, every round, say "keep the change" and don't have anything smaller than a five. Fourth, Order for your whole group all at once and ask for soda's for the designated driver even if you are planning on ubering. You should drink more water based drinks anyways, spread out the fun.
In a grand scheme of things, I think its worrying about the Tik Tok thing but in a small scale where we dont even interact with the politics, who the hell cares, so we dont see the importance of it.
Politics in your morning podcast that you listen to bc it lacks politics? It's more likely than you think. I hope this doesn't become a new and regular thing bc I abhor politics specialy the dumb/American kind.
