Great review for what appears is essentially a small business which are the lifeblood of any nation and we should use them more. You could tell the guy serving in the shop knew his stuff and was professionally passionate about sharing his knowledge about the cuisine they sell. Wonderful little gem of a place in Leeds!
When Danny was in the shop ordering his food,I think that's the most "Danny hand claps" I've seen him do whilst he's ordering his food,im sure he did about 4 or 5 claps 👏🏾 😄
Silver’s makes by far the best sandwiches i ever had. And i only live a few doors up the street from the Deli. Still not managed the full menu yet as i keep going back to the salt beef and cold cuts 😋
Everything looked amazing, my only criticism would be that the meatball sandwich was lacking meatballs. Only 3 meatballs on a sandwich costing £7.50 and considering how generous they were with the salt beef is a bit steep, i think it should've had an extra meatball so every bite would have some meat and if you break it in half there's 2 on each half. The first and last bite of that would just be bread and sauce.
Highly recommend The Gingerbread Coffee House in Northumberland. Fresh cakes, cheesecakes, scones & sandwiches. The Ploughman's is easily the best sandwich I've ever had in my life 👌
@@TelstarFirst, well, never having been to the UK, I can't speak from experience. I Googled "salt beef" and that's what was indicated by the results provided. When you say, "completely different thing," just how different are we talking? I mean, it's clearly not "completely" different, as they look fairly identical, and Google says the terms are both referring to the same thing, so we KNOW "completely" is out the window, but just how different are they in YOUR opinion?
It's not so difficult and this proves it a good positive attitude and some amazing food done simply and quickly and the price is the most competitive I've seen yet for fresh cooked food
@@TelstarFirst it’s called corned beef in the US. Uk version of corned beef is in a can as to distinguish between corned beef and salt beef. no such distinction in the US. I have a nice three pounder in my freezer right now and would never buy the canned version.
I'm an American expat living in North Yorkshire, I will be going to Silver's for one of those INCREDIBLE looking salt beef sarnies. I am something of a sandwich connoisseur and an accomplished Sandwich Maker (sent by Bob) myself, and I am pure DROOLING at the sight of that craftsmanship. Oh my days, Danny, my LONGtime friend- I will be following your footfalls this weekend! #RateMyTakeaway #TrueBritishGreatness #DannyMalintheLegend
I do enjoy a nice sandwich from a takeaway, and these ones looked nice. Their used to be a nice one near me that I would go to once a week when at uni, but it sadly closed down now.
I’m same as you wi’ t’old pickles. But with stuff like this they really compliment salt beef, pastrami etc. Usually some pickles and mustard are great.
I save £7.50 on a sammich, for the salt beef and though it was a bit of a con. It's a sandwich, FFS. When it arrived, you could remove the filling from the bread, toast the bread, add a salad and feed a family of four. THat was amazing, what a place!
Best Sandwich by far is down in Bristol at Sandwich Sandwich, must go if you like a good quality sandwich - abit expensive but worth it for the quality and size of them
Giardiniera is made of pickled veggies (usually bell peppers, celery, carrots, cauliflower) in vinegar (or oil). I most often eat it with stuff like bollito misto
That Gardiniera sauce.....I found the best one. Called "Cascina Pizzavacca." Big pieces of pickled veg that you cannot find elsewhere. Has lovely caremmilised onions in it. Italians use it as part of their antipasto. Sausage roll looked great too, I have to say.
Wheels are gubbed Danny no amount of Touch Up, sanding etc will cut it. Whoever told you to hit them with a grinder is needing help. Best option is to get them professionally re furbished, there should be a few around your area that do it. If its done properly they will come back as brand new....normally costs around £80 per wheel
Great video as usual Danny, small question? Was this takeaway on the bus route from leeds bradford airport to leeds city centre, visited leeds last year and the scenery looked very familiar?
