Apparently a US media site has attempted to do a version of HIGNFY. I showed up in one of my media feeds. I clicked on it thinking that the real HIGNFY had started the season early. I can't finds the words to accurately describe how terrible, uncreative, and unfunny it is. Even abysmal does not adequately describe how bad it is.
@worldcitizenra as a US citizen who loves the British version there's nothing wrong with the US version. They even kept the formula of one political and one satire team captain. You just don't like americans which I totally understand, leave the US version alone it's bringing real news to more people than most of our news outlets.
I'm so glad to see this back, and now the United States has our own version! They're a little rough around the edges because they're having to get used to the format but they are still giving reliable news in a highly digestible format as well as poking fun at the establishment.
I have to say, i was pleasantly surprised by Hignfy US. Roy Wood Jr. is funny and a good host, I looove Amber Ruffin and she's a good opposite to the other regular.
I gave you a thumbs up for the positive comment. However, I just watched one of the US shows. It didn't really poke fun at the establishment. Only Trump. Sorry to say I didn't find any of it funny enough to actually laugh at. It might take some time to find itself. It's not there yet imho.
This version is usually a bit better than the shorter broadcast one, but this one is much, much better than the one that went out. Thanks for uploading!
Cheers for posting this I love this show have watched it snice the 90s. I live in Dublin but I can't afford me T.V so the phone is my only friend 😅 so again thanks for the upload ❤ yup yup from Eire
Nope, they're the same quality you just don't like Americans. As a US citizen who watches World television I assure you the American version fits into the US media space exactly the same way the British one does in its country. The American show does what the British one does but for American audiences instead. You just don't like Americans which is understandable.
I think you have to give the US version some time to settle in. The first season of the UK version was clunkier than the show that it ultimately became by the mid-1990s
I like them both. American versions of British shows never work when they try to stick to closely to the original. I think the US version has done a very good job of using the concept, but letting the American comedians be themselves.
I'm stunned that they're about the only public that's been made about Roger Law passing. I'm astonished that I haven't seen an obituary, considering his prominence.
I adore HIGNFY UK ……it makes the world seem a lot less frightening…living In Canada next door to the Orange Menace & his minions one needs an injection of British wit regularly…BTW the US version of HIGNFY is a bust❤️❤️❤️
ngl i was very surprised when the last joke included a picture of not only a giant hand statue, but also what looks like the king of sweden on the right? at least it looks like him
Even the Brits can't understand Bridges' accent. Nor does captioning. Nor do I. It is a shame, because he might be worth listening to, but we'll never know. Can not watch this three times over just because Kevin refuses to speak English.
Really? You appear to think everyone feels the same, but many have no problem with a strong Scots accent. I am Australian. I have no problem. Why do you blame him? Maybe your inability to pick up the patterns of different accents, (compared to average people, or people with a better understanding of accents), is the problem?
If the captions are appalling, I would suggest that is to do with yt being American. I have yet to experience a competent job of captions in English, for anyone.
If you don't understand an accent just listen for about 10 minutes once and it clicks. Dunno where you're from but I'm sure we bother to understand you, fair to expect the same.
That says more about your political leanings and closed mind. Ian is acknowledged as admirably, if unbendingly and annoyingly true to what he considers correct behaviour. On either side.
I’m fascinated by this. I’m from southern England and didn’t find anything he said difficult to grasp. He’s not using any Glaswegian slang or anything. Which bits troubled you?
