Have I messed up my £100 challenge?! 😱 It’s time to find out!

Yep, Tirana is one of those places that does not accept digital mobile boarding passes which means you need to print your pass before you get to the airport!The GOOD NEWS is that on Wizz Air at least, they did not charge me to print it at the airport - PHEW 😅
Meaning my trip came in under budget 🙌

I’m so glad I was able to do it but I would also LOVE to head back to Tirana and spend a few quid as well. I think with £150 - £200 you could do LOADS, but so happy to say it’s definitely an affordable option for those on a small budget too 👍

I mean if you are required to have a boarding pass printed and the airport doesn't provide a kiosk to print it yourself, it should absolutely be free of charge.

it absoloutly is free of charge With how much i have traveled thru the UK, it does not cost anything to print your boarding pass at the self check-in scanners with the tickets you get on your phone.

Some years ago they wanted to charge me 70 Pound to print the boarding pass i just cried until they did it for free. Not my proudest moment but that was just too much money for such a stupid thing.

I really, Really don’t think it is legal (or technically possible) to charge for it here in Scandinavia, and I have never paid for it anywhere in my world travels, but grifters gonna grift if left unchecked and national culture don’t crush the behavior.

At Tirana International Airport, all companies do print the boarding pass for free as the gates doesn’t accept mobile boarding passed and the A4 paper BP that you can print at home are not recognized most of the time 😅

AFAIK Airline are responsible to check if the person is what they are. if they just let a random stranger with different info from their passport and boarding pass it might cause some problems.

⁠@@sigrunerlasnorradottir9175 that still puts it to around £80 with differences in rates. That still wouldn’t be achievable and that’s assuming it’s USD. Both Canada and Australia it would be even more in £s. Your comment isn’t at all helpful. The issue with the comment is that most of our flights are that cost too if we book them normally. You can get cheaper flights in all of these countries, it just wouldn’t be to a different country. 🤷‍♀️ The issue wasn’t with money because conversion doesn’t work the way you said it.

@@saram404going to another city in Canada costs at least $50 in bus fare, typically more like $150, and hostels are at least $50 a night. So a weekend trip to another city is at least $250 realistically. Not including food or gifts or other transport

@@ameliemorrow4857 Not if you plan it lol 60 is what you usually find for bus fairs roundtrip if not cheaper (for actually long trips), and then 30 per day on hostels as long as its not too late booking. you're spending 100 canadians on both transport and stay which is 50 less than the flight and the flight wouldn't include stay. The girls budge was roughly 170 canadians, which means you'd still be left with 70 for food and everything else. Yall just dont know how to budget because its a lot of work and planning, and most people would rather pay more just so they don't have to worry about those which is fine its your holiday if you value not having to worry abt too many preparations the extra money is worth it. But acting like it's impossible is rather disingenuous

Idk about other countries, but where I live lots of libraries have public printers, sometimes they’re even free/you don’t need a library card. And even if the printer wasn’t public, often you can just tell your situation to the librarian and they’ll print it for you anyway lol

Also once you’re at the airport, it’s normally so far from everything that leaving to go and print would be a nightmare in itself. I think if she’d realised before she got to the airport it wouldn’t have been so bad

I think you didn’t understand that she was already at the airport when she realised she had to print a BP. No matter the country, airports are not near any library.

⁠my mom can fly to Nashville round trip from grande prairie for around $400 cad regularly. A ticket from GP to the east cost provinces would be around $2k. It’s ridiculous

Not necessarily if you live in California you can get to Mexico pretty cheaply, and similarly if you are in Washington state, parts of Canada. It's all about proximity.

The experiences I’ve had with Ryanair from the UK have been crappy. The way home, they tend to be agents who simply don’t care about the small stuff so have been completely fine. (I refuse to to fly with them anymore anyway).

@kimbrolyy in london a bus is 1.75 no matter what, even if your just going a few stops, but on the other hand, if you really wanted to you could sit on a bus for like 3 hours and cross london for 1.75.

I Travelled around Europe for 10 days in 2017 and spent £110. Hotels, travel, food, everything all fell into this. I was actually annoyed I'd spent so much.

I think it would be very easy to spend that much, especially as you mentioned if you book your accommodation and buses/trains last minute, and if you are eating at nice places. But this user specified that this was the “cheapest” possible, which I believe is just not true at all. Even in Western Europe (maybe not including the Nordic countries and Switzerland)

I always get my boarding pass at the airport in Morocco for ryainair flights. I asked one of the employees a while back and they informed me that as long as I have the boarding pass on my phone, they'll just fill in all the information on a piece and give it to me for free.

Most flights just scan your boarding pass on your phone. Also strange that a big flight company doesn't have any sell-serve kiosks that you can print your boarding passes and baggage stickers. Unless Australia is living in the future, I thought this was the standard?

basically they assign most middle seats earlier and then start to assign the better seats after so they later you leave check in the more likely you have an aisle seat. its quite known with ryanair

We checked-in online not late with Ryanair but because they wanted to check passports, they printed our tickets free of charge. We had to go to a different set of service counters.

I went to cancun for 10 days for only $26 CAD I had originally booked a round trip 1 hour flight within Canada but it got canceled so I asked to rebook to cancun and they rerouted my original 13$ one ways into a 26$ round trip. Then I stayed 10 nights on points.

lol checking in late doesn’t guarantee the best seat possible. You’re more likely to get booted to the next flight on the chance the flight is overbooked and you didn’t secure the seats available on time.

Where did she go and for how long? I'm so confused how she did this... Like I could easily do a holiday for 555 per person but that's just Ur hotel and flight. And sure it's probably a week or something but that's not always all exclusive. My sister in law hunts for loads of good deals all the time. Travels with her husband and 3 kids. There channel is called the meldrums on the move.

Traveling from A to B for X amount of money doesn't make it a "holiday". You've travelled for £100 - that's it. A holiday would include: flights, hotels, food and some leisure. If you're missing one, then it's not a holiday. No one goes abroad for the air...
