Silver is a trade not an investment. But it is tradable. From an investment perspective, silver hasn't had a lost decade, it's had a lost 50 years. If you bought silver in the late 1970s to early 1980s, you might still be underwater. There's no shortage of mineable silver, and there are warehouses full of it. Periodically, investors buy the hype that it's somehow rare, and bid it up. The market is very small, so a small amount of additional demand results on a spike. And then owners of those stockpiles of silver materialize and sell into those periods of demand. And it crashes. The world is full of silver bag holders. Gold is an investment. There is a shortage of good minable gold. Consequently the goal to silver ratio has increased over time, and remains high.

One thing I will say, either the cycles are king or the narrative is. Seeing Your work and having done exhaustive analysis myself I can say cycles are king. It means the how is not important. If Bitcoin jumps to 100k as part of its blow off top then a narrative will be attached regardless of if we can see what that would be right now. In the past 3 weeks the Eth ETFs have bought almost 1 billion dollars of Eth. The big whales and institutions own around 90% of the Bitcoin and they will quickly reach that within Eth too. This is a behaviour pattern that preempts the final move. Despite this volatility, the market remains profitable.... I have managed to grow a nest egg of around 100k to a decent 732k in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Donna Mikalonis, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

Honest question I haven't heard an answer to: why cut rates? Market is still going up. Inflation is sort of under control, but still plenty of profit being made in retail. Unemployment isn't up too high. And you said cutting 50 basis points will be bad. But why cut? Seems the Fed can leave it alone until after the election at least.

The economic numbers are all BS. Retail sales are not inflation adjusted so it indicates higher inflation as people are paying more for less. But either way I always follow price. You have to be crazy to ever short a market in August. It never really works.

You mentioned AMZN in here, gotta watch it again. One thing I noticed yesterday, is that the flash crash literally fell of a cliff after Amazon earnings. The much maligned Jim Cramer was asking aloud how this japanese carry trade thing unravelled, he said he still couldn't find any reliable info on what sparked it. I really wonder if some wizard playing around with AMZN stock caused this entire rout, which is looking phonier than baloney since it happened. And no, I'm not short. I know better than to play those games against the masters of the universe.

are they? I see selling the mag 7 is happening for many of the famous big fish. I suspect they are broadening out as I keep seeing things which sure look like big buyers getting ready to snap up some stuff. Just food for thought but we have had a long run of spy and nasdaq outperforming the russell 2k. They might be seeing that too and perhaps they have concluded the upside potential for the russell 2k is better. They might also be looking at the equal weight sp500 over the mag 7. You got to remember that many of the filings are delayed. Now in Buffetts case its quite likely he is in cash. If you think you should trade like him why not just buy berkshire and get that result. Personally I think the cash is going to be spent, but its quite likely that its going to be spent by his successor and not him. I think he is a great investor, but I think Munger dying has likely impacted his decisions a bit. I wont be surprised if he has spent so long being balanced by Munger that he will struggle for a bit.

@@goodbodha I don’t think they consider Russel 2k. They are selling and pilling into bonds. Most of them are selling the mag 7 cause maybe the risk/ rewards is not the same anymore. Such as Daniel loeb or Terry Smith. And about Munger, I mean the guy has seen it all, I think his is still very wise with his decisions.
