This is one of the best explanations of playing PLO I've heard. I've only started to get a little less crappy at Omaha lol. I like how he's explains different hand strength betting. How important position is and pretty much everything you need to know as a new player to get started in some free roll games at least.

The worst thing about PLO is when you're playing it regularly you won't be able to play Holdem. Cause simply you don't have the patience to wait for good hands, It is also very different in terms of odds so it's better to stick with PLO
@andrewtaylor9146

That's my problem right now. Although I do apreciate holdem tourneys more than omaha. I may not know the game that well. But it seems like omaha is better in a cash game setting..

Good holder players can easily adjust their ranges even if the absolute strength of their hands is much less polarized.
@jimmynich4791
@jimmynich4791 3 года назад
Absolutely, that's why I switched to PLO. That and because I got sick of players just shoving with anything and getting lucky in holdem, probably wasn't happening as much as it felt like but in holdem it's sick when your strong starting hands keep getting cracked.

My favorite thing about PLO are the instances when folding the nuts is actually the right play. You get to check the BB with AJ67 no suits; flop is 589 with two spades. You check, first player bets pot, second player re-pots, and another player calls. Just fold the nuts. If you're up against a set and a flush draw you're an equity dog, and there's such a huge chance you're already drawing only to a chop you just get out. I made basically that fold once at a home game, showing one of my buddies as I folded it. Dude thought I was crazy until the turn when it got all-in and someone had flopped the same straight with the nut flush draw.
@troyhbk
@troyhbk 5 лет назад
@MrAndersonmm Yes, sometimes. You could also call and if a brick comes, shove....someone with the nut straight draw,flush draw could def repot on flop. The games I play in too many people are getting it in with draws and top set to let the nuts go on the flop.
@sgtm7
@sgtm7 4 года назад
@@troyhbk In the situation described by the person you are replying to, I would have folded also. Flush draw and higher straight draw on the flop? If I was making side bets, I would make a hefty bet that the person with 7-6 and no redraws is going to be the loser on the river. I am talking about a full table with 6 or more people in the hand. The less people in the hand, the better your chances.
@briannorris8095

When you have the nuts, you have the best possible hand, the nuts is not the best pre-flop hand
@MrAndersonmm
@MrAndersonmm 16 дней назад
@@briannorris8095 True, but if you are 4 handed on K-J-8 with two diamonds and you have KK23 no suit and you face a bet, raise and re-raise you should just fold despite having the nuts on the flop.

When you were talking about stealing pots when a flush hits board and you have the Ace, yes it’s a great way to steal but only in bigger games.. all the 1/2 2/4 I’ve played.. you can put someone all in on the river when the river brings out the flush and they will call with 9 high + I would say more often than not. Especially if they had say a straight with back door flush and it hits on river.. they will donk off in 1/2 games for sure

I just start playing PLO, what I really notice is, when the board paired, any player should be really aware with their straight or flush draw since a full house is quite possible even full house vs full house and when the board trips, that’s even more dangerous

Another Omaha video that's aimed at teaching you all wrong.. I wish there was strategies to Omaha, but it's just so goddamn fucking goddamn random.. I wish strategy helped, but it doesn't seem to, most of the time, and I'm often the only one folding, getting bitched at for raising pre flop, and never winning, but I'm trying the Big limit game, until I loose my last $1,000 to my name, then hopefully getting the fuck away from poker for another decade! It's just a tough way to try and make a dollar.. I just seen idiot bingo work so much better than strategy.. I really wish strategy helped, but it hardly seems to factor in the magnitude of what you'd hope it does.. I'm hoping to win, but I don't fuck with no limit; just hope to find a good job, work, come home, go to bed, repeat, and repeat..

you could easily get paid thats depends how u play before your good hand means all time fold before flap or before turn and how u can bluff with best hand to make a spot for them to bluff Like sometime i have Quads Aces on Flop and ofc no one gonna call my hand but they have 2pair on their hand ofc Like pocket 10 or pocket queens so u will just check call or just check till river. and they will bet for value with pocket kings or pocket queens and u will raise them and they will call u most of the time and u will get paid. all of this is about play unreadable

This video was in the side bar of recommendations, presumably because AI is so advanced these days that YT's algorithms have somehow managed to evolved a sense of deadpan irony. (disclaimer: Other than understanding the rules, I have no idea about starting hands in PLO, which to me seems like a game for degens who like being variance's bitch)

Playing a short stack with an eye towards multi-way pots can work. The idea is to get AI vs dead money or at least 2 opponents with premium runner hands. If you (~min) 3 bet, and figure any pot-sized 4 better likely has AAXX, it's still worth shoving with 8765 (or similar) and getting heads up with dead money in play, or vs 2+ callers.
