Your interpretation is the same as I always heard preached as an evangelical Baptist (now Catholic as of last Easter). Evangelicals look forward to the eventual conversion of the Jews collectively not individually. Of course this does not necessarily mean that EVERY jew will accept Jesus just as not all Gentiles accepted Jesus. This conversion is a total act of God by His grace, even if facilitated by Gentile preaching.
Gosh, the Lord revealed that to me as well, when I was convinced that my holiness and dedication to the Lord was something to be given a star about instead of the righteous due owed to God
Thank you, Roy. I've been saying this for MANY years, but few "takers". And it is not from my great intelligence but rather from the mercy of God to give me that revelation as I was just a young woman when I started speaking about that. My only sin, if you would call it that is, that I feel very "second class" when I am listening to Messiah Jews speak. It seems (to me) that they acknowledge our presence but want nothing to do with us. And that since they have come to know Jesus as Messiah & Lord; we are "gentile dogs" again(?)
Thank you for your videos, Roy, I always enjoy them. My understanding from St Paul is that the Jews are to convert and believe in the Messiah Jesus. But I always took from this that they are then to take leadership of the Church? Am I right in this?
This is so helpful! What a brilliant and beautiful exegesis of Romans 11! Unfortunately the mistaken view still seems to be widespread in certain subcultures within Christianity.
Thanks Roy - Such a mystery how Judaism has survived as language & identity despite attempts to destroy & no country for so long. Hated for loving God as are Catholics & Christians. In the Bible and Jesus crying for his people God so loves them,
Abraham was not a Jew, I guess. He was not of a tribe of Judah. But he was the source of the tribe of Judah. I get confused by the 12 tribes, and the Jews are only from the tribe of Judah. So the "Jews" of Judah have helped the other tribes of Israel, and then those converts to the Messiah kept spreading to the Gentiles. The God-loving Jews are the heartwood of the Church. We Gentiles are grafted on. When a Jew converts into the Catholic Church, they are incredible. They explain to us "Gentiles" the power and history of our own faith. The incredible story of the Old Testament, as God prepared a tiny group of people who would be devout enough and strong enough to prepare for His coming to earth, and then strong enough and devout enough to carry on the message of the Messiah, after He Himself "left" and returned to heaven. But now the Passover which was faithfully observed, so respected, and then was transformed into the Holy Mass, so that Jesus Himself would keep coming to us in the Eucharist. The Jewish who are still practicing today prove the ancient story and this group of people waiting for the Messiah. If they all believed at the start, and now they were all "Christians" then we would not have Jews from today who come into the Church and teach us about our own faith. It is always exciting to hear a Jewish convert help us understand the "truth" of our Faith!! It is amazing to think of Jesus in the Eucharist is in the Holy of Holies of Heaven itself, and He enters us and transforms us into entering the Holy of Holies. Talk about "feast of tabernacles." We are becoming walking tabernacles of the Holy of Holies, as Jesus in the Eucharist is in us. Amazing.
