You two are great…so glad you found each other! 💜💜 I “came out” as a bisexual around 1988. There were very few people to look up to then. I still feel uncomfortable sharing this with people because of fear they won’t understand. I am happy with myself and that’s all that matters. Are the best fries really in Canada? 😂
About the same time I finally came out; it was actually mid/late fall of '91! You are so VERY correct; no one to really look up to back in those days except maybe for the other GLB[T added on later down the road] friends you might (I was blessed to have had quite a few, but thankfully one in particular gor me) and it WAS A LOT more difficult back then. Really difficult for me, as I had been known to date boys/men; one relationship ended and I really thought I loved him. Relationship ended and I was pregnant, so had his daughter! Something traumatic happened and I had enough! It finally drove me to take a trip to my friend I mentioned above, who was 2 hours away, stayed in Columbus Ohio for 2 days, and ended up FINALLY admitting to him that I AM A LESBIAN! There was (as I understand, still is; don't know for certain as I no longer live in Cincinnati, OH, moved to Savannah, GA the summer of 2005) a bookstore by the Name of Crazy Ladies. Funny story, but oh so very true! I'd drove down there intending to go in, but EVERYTIME I'D GO, I WOULD PARK MY CAR, and could NEVER actually OPEN MY CAR DOOR and actually get OUT of my car to go in to the book store/or if I found a parking spot on the side of the building (instead of on the street in front of the store), I could manage to get out of my car, BUT NEVER ACTUALLY OPEN THE DOOR OF THE BOOK STORE AND WALK IN! Don't remember how, but (think I heard it on this local independent radio station that used to have an GLBT program every Saturday, but found a group that had a local group in our area (DignityUSA) and somehow managed to get myself to join that group. Became pretty active with them, even playing guitar for our weekly masses. Eventually met and made friends with another woman who joined our group after I did. Found out through her that Crazy Ladies even had (several) weekly Lesbian Support Group meetings, so with my new friends help, ended up going to the Friday night meetings. Went to a couple of others but really loved the Friday night ones the best. While it was a support group, it was also more of a social group atmosphere. Since it was on a Friday night, we would usually (most or a lot of us) end up going to dinner at a restaurant right up and across from the bookstore (also gay owned). Then we'd all end up at the lesbian bar a few miles away. That support group meeting ended up to being a huge blessing to me. It's where I met my wife. That was Nov, '92! Sadly, we were together until death do us part. She passed away on Feb. 17th, 2005. Anyway, sorry so long winded. Point is, YES! BACK THEN, because we didn't have the internet, making it much easier to meet people/hear their stories, WE REALLY DID NOT HAVE PEOPLE TO LOOK UP TO!
@@christinedisneyqueen5746 Thank you. We were together 12 years, nearly to the day, when she passed away, at home with the help of home Hospice. AS cliché as it sounds, our anniversary was Feb. 14th and she passed away on Feb 17th 12 years later. Losing her was a huge loss. With the anniversary of her death coming, marking 17 yrs, I still find it mentally debilitating Thanks for your kind words

As a transgender woman (which I also identify as a fem lesbian) I still remember the day when my wife proposed to me and I honestly cried happy tears and I said yes to her put the 💍 on and we kissed. After 1 month passed from our proposal we planned out our wedding and planned it for January 17th 2022. Everything at our wedding went smoothly and everything went well. Me and my wife are extremely happy and loving to be married as a lesbian couple. Also you guys you guys are very cute couple and its very wholesome 💗

So I slipped and fell in our new shower and actually laughed and cried because I felt so stupid.. Not sure if I felt like a was in a corny horror movie or Bridget Jones accidents vibes.. Two women together are a lesbian couple even if one is not a lesbian. Just how a “hetero” couple where the woman is bi or the man is bi is typically still referred to as a straight couple since they are a man and a woman together.
You gals are amazing people. My dad curls at my local curling rink every winter on Sunday and he's done a flip on the curling ice and he would stand right up and some asked him could you do that again and he said he was like id probably break my neck. My gf and I are both bi, but to make it "easy" we say we're a lesbian couple when we refer to us being cis women who are in a relationship with each other. But it's not ideal of course.
They have been trying to adopt for a long time but it takes long for things to get going in Nova Scotia (aka where they live). So no need for your suggestion. They have many videos concerning adoption and they are - as I said - still in the whole process of trying to adopt.
