Have You Ever Heard of 3-Piece Lug Nuts? YOU HAVE NOW

With my new Rays wheels sitting on the car, it was time to install them and torque them, without damaging or scratching the seat of each of the wheels. These awesome 3-piece lug nuts are an amazing way to torque the wheel down in a safe manner, just like regular lug nuts, without grinding the nut into the seat.
There are many different companies that have floating seats on their lug nuts, however I found these to be the best suit for what I was looking for. I tried finding ones that had a red core instead of the black ones that I purchased, however I couldn’t find anything. I DID HOWEVER find them after I pulled trigger on these nuts. Isn’t that always how it goes.. Anyways, with these new nuts, it means I am able to rock the new fitment and put the Z on the ground.

The lugnuts on my old 944s Porsche were aluminum and I had no problem with them, despite having done some pretty fast driving that got the front wheels pretty hot and forcing me to find special high-temp brake fluid. Of course, I always hand-torqued my wheels and used a little Permatex anti-seize compound on the wheel stud threads. When you have two dissimilar metals that are in contact under an elevated temperature, the metals will corrode and fuse together without anti-seize compound.

I wouldn’t lower it , looks flush as it is lowering would only cause you to scrape both on the wheel wells and your bottoms , add a lip

fortis619, I agree. Coilovers for performance, but keep it where it is, or at least don't lower it more than an inch.

NissanHyoryuLyfe this is very similar to the lugs that Dodge and chysler used for several years. After torquing them good and tight a few times and being subjected to some weather the outer portion gets beat up because they are soft. Then the cap comes off or spins on the remaining bolt . If you get the cap off the metal underneath is soft. Then you need to get get it off with a die grinder, torch or hopefully an easy out. A bolt should not be more than one piece. Multiple points of failure here. My $0.02 only

Wrap it satin white, tint taillights, add some bolt-on performance mods and obviously install protective film. That's what I'd do, however this is your build so as long as you enjoy modding it, it'll end up lookin freakin' fresh :D Thumbs up bro!

Jay K agree to disagree, I respect your opinion though, however if he increases light output and tints them to achieve balance, car would look killer, windows and tails tinted alongside black wheels contrasted to satin white color. Rice is good for bulk btw 😂

I like everything you said except tinting the taillights. That's so ghetto! I'd NEVER tint any of my lights, as they look so much fresher without tint. It's like going to the dentist and having gold teeth put all the way across your mouth. It's whacked looking, and so tired. People need to learn to stop emulating thugs. Be smarter than that.

I work at a tyre shop and putting the locking nut opposite the valve is normal. That way you know where the locking nut will be every time. :)

Its little stuff like that, that just shows the person installing this stuff cares. It takes an extra 2 seconds to realize where the valve stem is, and pair it with the appropriate lug nut :)

Wheels look good with the tint, the contrast will carry over nicely to the back once you darken the diffuser. Maybe even a light tint on the rear lights

Titanium lug nuts are perfect 👌😁 Titanium lug nuts are 29% stronger and nearly 50% lighter than steel which results in a decreased rotational wheel mass. I know where can you get it at a great price 😁😁

put a small spliter on the front of your bumber like a lip, and also make it black. Put a small lip spoiler on the rear of the car also black. And lower it. IT WILL LOOK EPIC (atleast it does in my eyes)

looks so good tbh, amazing choice man. would definitely get those coilovers on, maybe a new front bumper to give it a more of an aggressive look, and crack those headlights open and black them out, maybe at halos and a led strip and paint the headlight shroud red to contrast. Just my thoughts... I know its your build but man, can't wait to see this thing come along

Great Project Kics R40 I want to buy a full set but the only problem..I want to get the steel lug nuts . Not the aluminum, I wonder if you remember whats the items # from those lug nuts.. so I can get the steel lug nuts.. I check many websites they have it for sale but their site doesn't say if its steel or aluminum.. it doesn't say whats made of. I don't wanna buy purchase the wrong product. Tbh you don't need to lower it much, just half an inch (it hurts to use inches lmao) in the front, to have an even wheel gap compared to the front. But you need headlights with black housings.

Yeah that's the game plan with the ride height. I was quite surprised that the rears fit so well. I'll probably keep the rear ride height the same, and drop the front half an inch just like you said lol As for the headlights, I have a few more things in mind, but I do 100% want to address them

Whats up Milan! Got a story for you. Back in high school, around 2-3 years ago, I was obsessed with 8th gen accord coupes. That is when I came across your update video for Leanne. Fast forward to December 2017, the stars aligned differently and I got a 2006 TSX. Been a headache ever since I bought it. Now I'm coming back full circle looking at accord coupes, specifically 2008 Accord Coupe 4cyl in manual. Anything I should know when I look at some? Would this be a fun car to take on the back roads, assuming I get coilovers? or is the car super heavy? Much love from Toronto, keep it up!

If it is a 4 cylinder, make sure the engine isn't burning oil, or check to see if it has the piston rings recall done to it. Mine used to go through 1.5 litres per 1000km's. I got it rebuild under warranty (they extended the warranty) and it has been perfect since. It is a super fun car to drive, and is extremely reliable as long as you are on top of oil changes

If I had all 20 of the caps, I would have 100% kept them :) But you know how it is.. Hopefully the thread locker does the trick.. I've been keeping an eye on them so fingers crossed, I don't lose them lol

Circumference-wise, it is the perfect size, so there is no speedo-error at all. It is only a wider wheel, which won't affect it :)

Diameter has a slight margin % so as long as you are within that % range you’re good. No Speedo correction necessary.

Still holding up great to this day! I ended up selling them to a friend of mine, since I purchased the R26s, only for personal preference. You can't go wrong with either set of lug nuts! No rust on them at all, even after using an impact gun to remove them 👍

300$ for lug nuts that look like they come from Wish... Edit: Apparently Dodge and Chrysler used 3 piece lug nuts, and the exterior part just strips, so you have a fun time with the inner part stuck on the stud. And also, you claim that you put blue lock tight because they are known to come loose (that's what you answered to a dude, and you said it in the video), and sorry to tell you the truth, but lug nuts that come loose/dissasemble themselves if they don't have lock tight are trashy lug nuts.

Well if you don't think they're worth it, don't buy them. Simple as that. I know these lug nuts are good, and I know they will hold up. Your opinions doesn't change the fact that they're on my car, I already bought them, and they're doing just fine.

Look great man! For some more contrast I would suggest blacked out headlights/ custom headlights. One of the first mods I do to all the cars I have ever owned. The eyes are a gateway to the soul!

@milanmastracci Is it necessary to use anti-seize on your lug nuts? What is your opinion and or experience? My concern is, even though it is torqued to manufacture specification, will they come loose with anti-seize?

If the manufacturer suggests using anti-seize, than use it. Otherwise, do not unless you are using titanium lug nuts. You can try to use anti-seize, but be sure to recheck the torque spec every 10 kilometres to ensure they aren't coming loose

$200+ for lugs?? ... HARD pass, LoL. Yea they're nice looking, yet MASSIVE overkill in addition to the risk of dealing with removing a spun core. One of the cardinal rules of design and engineering is the more parts on something, the more prone to failure it becomes. Thus the key to good design, is... SIMPLICITY. BTW, you always have awesome rides with nice detailing!

So by only going from a 8 to a 9" wheel, while keeping the same offset, it will be the same as adding a half an inch on each side of the wheel

You overthink everything. They do not need blue lock tight on the lugs... have you ever heard of valve caps coming loose? Nope and they are hand tight.

YES.. I have heard of the cores of these lug nuts come loose and people lose them. You may think I'm overdoing it, but I'd rather be safe than sorry

Still not gonna keep someone from stealing your wheels if they really want them. Want legit locking or security lugnuts...look up rimlox. Has a challenge and no one has been able to remove his locks without the proper key.
