Have you ever seen a Medalist Edition 4Runner?

I had never heard of a Medalist edition 4Runner, but when I saw this for too good of a price, I had to pounce. This truck was originally from Canada, but was imported into the US. Now it belongs to me. It has a knocking motor, so this will be my first time really digging into a 3.0 Toyota motor. Like I needed another project, but do what makes you happy!

I would so fix that up. Rare limited edition. New tires. Just needs a new lower end fix.

Sucks about the clip. Very cool truck. Great score and find. You don’t have a Toyota problem you have shop to store them all problem.

I’ve got the same air box in my ‘92 truck. Check the oil, lifters are slapping pretty good. Nice 4Runner though. How do I reach you? I would love to get ahold of an older truck to rebuild. I have’92 extra cb 4x4 and. An ‘08 double cab 4x4

So it's torn down now. Massive rod bearing failure in cylinder 4. It's not lifters unfortunately. I'm not selling any of my trucks, but you can always reach me at dreamwars@hotmail.com Thanks!

funny story I just bought a 1993 Manual on a whim...the wife wanted a manual SUV and there wasnt much in the 3000$ price range that wasnted ROACHED out here in Portland....the 4runner is a 1 owner california car with the cleanest interior of all my vehicles except for my 5th gen...160K 4x4 new 31 tires/wheels new radiator new alternator new battery.. I was told new water pump and timingbelt but I have not confirmed...clean egine bay no body/under body rust... NOW problems.. stolen CAT (fucking tweeker) someone tried to break in and broke the steering colum lock..thats fixed...and they broker on of the small rear windows thats fixed...now my only big challange is a knock sensor... code 52 baby!! im trying to pull off the engine lift hook trick just to pass DEQ but I cannot get it to work with a generic knock sensor trying a OEM toyota one...any adive on that would be apprciated I have no experiance with the 3.slowc 2nd gen

Awesome man, I'm happy for you. Yes use a toyota knock sensor. I got one on ebay for about 75 bucks. I haven't tried the relocation mod, and since I'm in mine so far already, I'm replacing that sensor as well as it's harness (also Toyota), into the stock location. If that knock sensor doesn't properly read knock, even under normal conditions, it will continue to advance the timing and it will cause engine failure. From my understanding, the stock location is essential for that not to happen. Could it work? Sure. Will you massively regret it? Maybe. Is that a chance you are willing to take? Up to you.
