I admire the loyalty of British people to their hometown club no matter the division and standings. In Spain everybody nominally supports their hometown club, but Real Madrid, Barcelona or Atlético are always around their thoughts
Today was a great day at the match with an amazing atmosphere. We found out Palace were winning and then Steele got the ball and no-one went to him and he kept it for 2 minutes and oor players and Huddersfields just started talking and when the ref blew for full time everyone cheered and we all chanted YORKSHIRE. We were united in a different kind of way...
I agree there is much loyalty to the hometown club, but there as many locals who ignore their local club and support the bigger Premiership clubs from the comfort of their television armchair. What these people fail to realise is that their financial support is needed to support the local community, and local success through football helps develop the feel good factor through schools, work, businesses & additional publicity for the area in times of hardship & unemployment. Keep support local!!!
Just look how much it meant to Luke Steele, even sending down his home town club... what a professional. I`m sure he`ll spare a thought for them tomorrow........ UTR.
