I'm 37 and just found out yesterday I have been having 'silent strokes" for at least the past few years, based on previous MRIs done in the past couple of years. Unfortunately, no one did anything with that information until this past week. I am overwhelmed and flabbergasted at how and why I am having them. I have almost no common risk factors.
I've been having pressures on my my temples for 3 years now. And I've had incidents that I thought were panic attacks. The "panic attacks" weren't triggered by any stressful events, and they usually happen when im by myself. I've noticed that I've been misspelling words lately, and a lot of the time when I do spell words correctly, they feel off. Also I've noticed that i can't do 2 by 2 multiplication calculations in my head anymore. These problems have been weighing heavily on my mind, but I currently don't have health insurance, so I can't get it checked out.
I’m not even an older patient , I’m 37 years old and had a stroke. I don’t smoke or have any medical conditions that would predispose me to such. Just did a tee and found I have a small hole in my heart. I’ve been tested over the course of many weeks and now we’re getting down to the reason why. Been suffering from chest pain and shortness and breath for years only to be told it’s stress due to my age .
I’m 58 years old. Last night in the store with my husband I suddenly realized I couldn’t see properly. A few minutes later I was having trouble communicating. And a few minutes more I was completely unable to comprehend written text. my husband ran and got me an aspirin. I let half dissolve in my mouth, got something to eat and took a walk. 40 minutes or so all the symptoms had disappeared. But it was terrifying. It literally felt like my brain was dying in real time.
Atrial fibrillation can cause a silent stroke definitely, so can multiple heart conditions, and if you already have borderline autism like me coupled with familial COPD on my dad's side and many other things, COPD can cause pulmonary hypertension thus the symptoms of dizziness, disorientation, can make my autistic symptoms worse, social dissociation from autism combined with disorientation from the pulmonary problem, equals a worsening of symptoms, I take vyvanse for adhd so it might be causing the arrhythmia, I have random attacks of it especially at night, with vomiting and confusion, I feel dumber and slower each time these attacks subside
I might never know what it is with me, my aspergers syndrome has increased in intensity ever since that night I had my heart rate randomly spike in speed, I had attacks like this at least 4 or 5 times, cardiac arrhythmia attacks with vomiting, confusion, and tiredness after the attack subsided, I felt cognitively slower and my blurred vision in my left eye caused by keraconus is getting worse. Soon I will be really slow mentally if this keeps up
Id really like to at least find out if this has happened to me. I had a splitting and unrelenting headache for 8 weeks and 4 days and it just faded away those last few days but i was never really the same after. Like in my mind.
You know cardiac arrhythmia can cause a silent stroke too, from me taking vyvanse for my adhd, and autism, I feel as though something is making my autism worse, I have a high heart rate (resting) COPD runs in the family, I already have had 5 random attacks of heart rate spikes followed by vomiting and confusion, and a feeling of death and doom all around, surrounding me, and afterwards I would end up having to take 2 abilifies to stop it
@osvaldocervantes4139 yeah, i probably shouldn't be taking vyvanse with an arrhythmia, the only issue is I'm fatigued when I don't because then without it my heart rate is way too slow and it makes me feel drained, either its too fast and I'm dizzy or it's too slow and I'm tired, there's no balance, but try eating less salty foods that will raise your blood pressure, because salt can make the stroke threshold alot lower. Eat more vegetables, less bread, exercise more often, L-arginine supplements are good because they help the body release more nitric oxide into the bloodstream acting as a vasodilater to open up the arteries into the brain, and throughout the body.
Hello I'm a 31 year old male I have been having numbness right arm face vertigo and extreme right side head pressure for months every other week . With blurred right eye . I have been to hospitals seen neurologist dr . Told them I'm I think I'm having tias and they all disregarded my fears. All ct scans show nothing I feel all alone and helpless .😢
A feeling of doom also right!? And random high heart rate spikes, followed by confusion, vomiting and a feeling of death anxiety? Could be arrhythmia induced or atrial fibrillation attacks. Mine are caused I believe from the vyvanse I take for adhd and autism, COPD runs on my dad's side I am 27 years old, but I feel whatever is affecting my heart rate is making my autistic symptoms worse
I have adrenal overload induced atrial fibrillation also with hyperthyroidism and low magnesium levels, so i wonder if the vyvanse is causing me to have a thyroid storm attack maybe, excarbating the fibrillation symptoms
I had the same exact experience! Legit almost all symptoms of the BE FAST Acronym but they still said I was fine 😭😭😭 after a mri told me it could be stress
Yes it could be atrial fibrillation causing silent stroke type symptoms as well, do you have a high heart rate and slightly heightened blood pressure at rest? Like me? Or no? I also have borderline autism ADD and take vyvanse for it but I get these random bouts of high heart rate attacks followed by vomiting and confusion, dizziness. Red flags for adrenal induced atrial fibrillation, or thyroid storm, or adrenal insufficiency causing a high heart rate arrhythmia maybe. Do you take medication that raises heart rate?
