Hi everyone! There is now a part 2 to this video that shows you how realign the head and ears if you encounter any twisting :) You can find it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ahh2_OFOmIU.html If you have previously purchased this pattern and would like the updated version that includes this information, please message me on Etsy or Patreon. *** For those of you who are bothered by the crooked tail! I thought it added to the rough charm of this design, but I also understand that it is driving some of you a bit crazy! The crooked tail is what is shown in the video, but if you would prefer a centered tail for your owlbear, just replace these rows of the body: 9. 4[7sc, inc], 4sc, 3sc in 1, 10sc, inc (55) 10. 4[8sc, inc], 5sc, 3sc in 1, 12sc, inc (62) 11. *no change* backloops{62sc} (62) 12. backloops{46sc, dec, 14sc} (61) 13. 45sc, dec, 14sc (60) 14. 45sc, dec, 13sc (59) 15. 45sc, dec, 12sc (58) 16. 18sc, dec, 25sc, dec, 11sc (56) 17. 18sc, dec, 23sc, dec, 11sc (54)
I'm so glad I read this pinned comment because I genuinely thought I had messed up somehow. But now that I know it was intentional I don't mind it and it does add some extra charm. XD But it's also awesome that you give the option to have it centered.
@@AShMR_ Same here! I just frogged the entire finished body after completing all the other parts, cause I only now noticed the comment :D I was sure it was my tension, cause I counted religiously!
Oh no! It is even more crooked that way! Just finished my head and started attaching the ears and the second ear comes out almostexactly over the tail that way :( I guess I'll try to reorganise the ears rows cause it seems to much for me to redo the body 3rd time
Ok, if anybody ends up in the same pickle as me with 2nd ear almost exactly over the tail while using the above alternative rows 9-17, here is how I solved it up in the owlbears head: (alternative rows 51 - 57) 51. 4sc, 12sc to attach ear 1, 18sc, 12sc to attach ear 2, 8sc (54) 52. 3sc,sc3tog, 8sc, sc3tog, 16sc, sc3tog, 8sc, sc3tog, 7sc (46) 53. 2sc, dec, 8sc, sc3tog, 13sc, sc3tog, 7sc, dec, 4sc, dec (39) STUFF 54. 2sc, sc3tog, 5sc, sc3tog, 12sc, sc3tog, 4sc, sc3tog, 4sc (31) 55. sc, sc3tog, 3sc, sc3tog, 10sc, sc3tog, 2sc, sc3tog, 3sc (23) 56. sc3tog, sc, sc3tog, 8sc, 2sc3tog, 3sc (16) 57. 4ss, sc3tog, 2sc, sc3tog, 4sc and row 58 goes 6dec (6) Hope it helps someone :)
do I dare? Do I dare abandon my 90% finished crocheted christmas gift to make this instead only a week before christmas? yes I have the audacity. yes i will
i can say wholeheartedly i have never bought a pattern so fast. i saw this pop up in my youtube feed and i made it less than 5 mins into the video before i KNEW i had to make him. thank you sooooo much and it’s always a pleasure to support such a great artist and creator:) please keep up the great work!!!!
The very first time I saw the little owlbear plushie in Baldur's Gate 3 I immediatly wanted to do it, but I can't make my own patterns. So glad you made this, it's just perfect, thank you!!
This is SO CUTE! the details that you fit into this little owlbear are amazing. Honestly I learn something new about crochet every time I watch one of your tutorials.
literally exactly what i was looking for, i remembering freaking out when i found the plush in game, lamenting that im trash at sewing but then thinking maybe someone has at least made a crochet pattern for an owlbear. My surprise when not only were there some, but you've literally already made a pattern for the exact one. That was freakin fast and it looks so good!! thank you so much for sharing and creating this aaaaa. Imma be on a hunt to get some beads now, i need to make this.
It’s adorable! Love the attention to detail - it literally looks like it came straight out of the game. Thank you for blessing us with the most amazing patterns :3
Finally getting around to making him! I'm 6 months late but better late than never! I got a 10 hour shift that's just sitting, so here's to hoping he takes up the whole shift!
I bought your pattern on Etsy and I'm so grateful for this video! I had no idea how to attach the ears but your explanation is so clear! ❤ now I can continue making this adorable plush!
This pattern was so easy to follow and I'm so thrilled with how it came out. I've only crocheted two other three dimensional projects before, but I felt confident the whole time l was making this. There's a couple of spots that didn't come out perfectly, but that's due to my own mistakes lol. I'm so excited to have this cute owlbear as part of my projects that l've completed
Thank you so much for making a video tutorial. I bought your pattern from Etsy and some of the stitches are so innovative that the tutorial for them helped me a lot! This is a very fun pattern, and I love how (comparatively) little sewing there is. The ears are just perfect.
I'm going to have to leave a comment here - thank you SO MUCH for this pattern! I've just finished making my own, and it's probably one of the most involved projects I've done, but the video was so clear and helpful! My partner loved it :D
Yep Another great idea from... I used a bigger yarn and crochet for this one ( and maybe a littlte to big ), to much stuffing, but what a magnificent plush and a big one i made because of you ! Thank you for your patterns and explanations !
You are AMAZING!!! SUBBED IMMEDIATELY! I want to make an owlbear for my boyfriend for his birthday (on a budget) and was so nervous I wouldn't be able to find an affordable pattern! This is awesomeness!❤🎉😊
Thank you so much! I usually crochet without a pattern, but it's so nice to know what I have to do for once heh! Video tutorial is so nice too because I can't read the patterns very well especially because I never learned how to do it in English.
I was re-watching playthroughs of Puyo Puyo Tsuu (2) recently, and Owl Bear is one of the first characters that can be battled; so, seeing this pop up in my subscription feed made me smile 🦉🐻💝.
ok how effing CUTE is this. I skimmed through and you explained it amazingly (trust me I have seen many channels, that can't even explain a basic thing). Saved to be done SOON (tm) :D
He's so cute! You could certainly adjust him a little bit to look like a Snorlax! Also, the patches could even be pockets! Thank you for your work! *BlUmB* (boys plopping on the desk!)
I love this so much! Thank you so much for sharing your pattern, I can’t wait to purchase it. Side note, you were not kidding about the amount of stuffing, it literally took an entire bag of mine hahahaha!
aaaa that's so cute. I kinda wish you had a pattern for a big bird because I love this and the big frog too, its cool to see some bigger projects for sure. Probably too hard for me but definitely going on my list of things to try... Eventually
You can do it. :) It's supposed to be kind of like Mr. Bean's Teddy Bear. Well used, a bit thread bare, slightly dirty from being loved and played with. It's also supposed to look hand crafted by "any-parent". So imperfections just add to your particular owlbear's story and personality. ❤️ My 1st fairy dragon has 1 giant arm and 1 normal sized arm. It's still cute, and I can't make another one like it, because it was the first time I ever made limbs, the hands, and only the second time I had tried color changing in a project. Now I have a fairy dragon who can Really put his fist down if it wants to! 😂 I named it Iron-Man...(really lol) Seriously though, even with mistakes they're great records of how you improve, so go ahead and make some amigurumi that may, or may not have some birth defects. :) They grow on you
So, I didn't know that this was in the game! I had to look it up, and lo and behold! I haven't left the shadow lands yet, maybe I'll go find this plush in game! And now I must make it IRL! I originally found this looking for a pattern just to make an owlbear plush. I was thinking of using different yarn and make feathers and make it more realistic, but...now I need this as is! XD Maybe I'll make them both ways!
This honestly is the biggest plushie ive ever made! It turned out so cute, but as a plush yarn user, i cant help thinking how gigantic this would turn out using Chanelle, lol! :)
I'm an absolutely bloody beginner, even though I crochet for 4 years on and off now. Never did anything other than the most basic stitch, out of which I made scarfs, blankets and beanies. But I really want to try to make something complex and cute, like this owl bear, when I'm done with the scarf I'm currently working on.
Omg thank you for making this I saw a crocheted owlbear Larion reposted on their Twitter and the creator said she freehand it and and didnt make a pattern and I'm bad at making patterns, though I'm learning from your videos. It's a slow process, I really want to crochet the 6 Origin characters.
not even 2 rows in and my perfectly untangled yarn has turned into possibly the worst spaghetti monster i have encountered. and typing this im remembering i have no stuffing aside from old plastic bags, so this should be interesting!
If this is still helpful, buy a cheap pillow and use the stuffing from that! I do this instead of buying stuffing, it’s so much cheaper (a bag of stuffing equal to the amount in the pillow is like $20(au) instead of $5(au)) and way easier to get😊
what I just realized with this pattern is that after weeks of following other tutorials from this channel, I've always slip-stitched the end of the row to the beginning, while the video doesn't show it. I hope this doesn't come to bite me in the butt later when I have to attach the ears...
i havent seen this plush item in baldurs gate 3 so i was curious why this owlbear didnt look like the cub from the game but now im obsessed regardless and i wanna make a crochet one while i search for the in game one ♥
i've made several of these so far -- including three i gifted to Tim Downie, Sam Beart, and Amelia Tyler at a con this summer!!!! i gave Sam theirs right before a panel and there are lots of pictures of them holding it during the panel Complicatedknots i would love to show you them if there is a way to show or send somewhere!!!!
Would it work better if you add the claw beads in while youre adding in the decorative stitch? It might be a little floppy or flat, but theyd be secure since you thread them through the decorative stitch. Hopefully that makes sense lol
I just got through the video, still attaching everything. But one thing I noticed is I really REALLY overstuffed the legs. Gives me a reason to make another! I truly love this pattern! I got a little lost on the back, the tail was not centered, but I will be 100% more careful with my second one.
Damn it, now I need to go yarn shopping for those nice like… uh, rustic colours? He just looks very patchwork and deserves those duller colours instead of bright colours imo. Hope that makes sense lmao
I love this pattern but omg I have no idea what I’m doing so wrong every time I make it, but I didn’t see the re-alignment video until just now and just keep having the body totally twist around so the ears are in line with the tail??? I’ve made the body three times now and it happens every single time exactly the same way! I count my stitches and mark my beginning stitch every time! I feel like I’m going crazy, I’m glad I have the resources to fix it but I have never given myself so much trouble with a pattern before!
Waa he looks so cuddly >< Is there any alternative for his beak and claws, maybe by crocheting too? Cause I don't think they sell something like that where I am and I really want to make him
How tight is your work usually may I ask? I've tried crocheting plenty of your patterns before (Such as the lovebug and large howling wolf.) However, I've always sort of felt like my tension was always too loose cause I had these big holes compared to your neat little rows. Going to try this pattern with a 3mm hook and see if that gets me somewhere closer to your neat works. Either I'm really loose, or you're crochet is just quite tight. Either way, I can't wait to make this little owlbear. :)
19:44 i feel like this part should be more explained. It would be great if you had shown how to where count stiches here. Because of ears the point where rows start/end changed. And its hard to guess to where we should count. And what even counts as valid stich now. I kept counting and counting and still had more than 48 only later i realised that that amount was ok *after* making 3tog from start of next row. But a small advice for anyone having the same trouble. Try to go along with next row just in your head and see where you would end up.
