More video of employees at that same Starbucks in Trumbull, Connecticut. Shots of customers ordering beverage, etc... This video last around 14 minutes or so. #starbucks
Worked there from 2013 to 2014 and indeed when I hear those blenders, I get instant PSTD. All the people ordering Frappuccinos with 10 different things inside then saying it tastes gross. Well, you shouldn’t have put caramel with raspberry.
Those kids in the thumbnail are the epotime of the 90s..Kurt Cobain shirt and a flannel shirt. Makes me so nostalgic as I was one of them. I was 15/16 in 1996.
Looks pretty much the same layout as it is today. I am still intrigued by the flat(?) touchscreen monitor they get to use. The first time I have seen a flat touchscreen monitor was in the early 2000s. Lot of people I've seen used CRT touchscreens back then. Maybe that's just me, or I haven't been paying attention.
I got the chance to buy an ELO touch CRT from ebay a few years not so long back, it worked very smoothly, it was almost like a high end touch display that worked like a lot of the modern touch devices. I don't have it any more unfortunately.
Ah, back in the day when Starbucks was a little rarer of a thing. I miss how much more cozy it felt then. They used to have big leather or upholstered armchairs and sometimes couches, with warm lighting. I get that things like that wear out faster and need to be replaced, but isn’t it still worth doing? Starbucks also used to sell other interesting stuff like brewing equipment. I still have a Starbucks “Barista” brand burr grinder from around 2002. It has a few quirks now, but still works. Today it’s mostly just wooden chairs, drinks, and a few mugs. Far less interesting and cozy.
Still remember those arm chairs with the dim lighting from the late 90s. I've designed a few Starbucks as well and they have a lot more equipment and different furniture layouts. It's a little less laid back than 25 years ago.
What stands out to me is there’s no blasting music going. People could actually concentrate & study or do work if they wanted. Also, (& no shade here) all the employees look so normal. No bright blue hair, no guys with makeup on & long painted fingernails, no 25 piercings, no pronouns…
Especially in the middle of the nineties, you're right, you would think they would come alot later, very late 90s would have been my guess, but early 2000s seems plausible
@@planetX15 I was amazed by that too! I grew up around the late 90's and can only remember old registers. It wasn't until the early 2000's that I started seeing them.
Damn, this was 3 years before I met my ex-wife. When we split, she moved to Seattle and got all Starbucksy and hippie-like, so I can’t tell if this vid brings me joy or absolute terror.
I first heard the ridiculous expression in 1986 and could not stand it then. Thinking it was a regional thing, hearing Alicia Silverstone say it in "Clueless" in 1995 meant that the phrase was and would be all over the whole world.
Karens were a rare breed back then, it seemed. Making a public scene was frowned upon. Now it's sport or even staged and then posted on social media for clicks, likes and profit. Calgon take me away ... sigh ...
Bro, if you don't have money for gas, you don't have money for anything. Of course his mommy gave him some green, likely for him to buy some other green.
Starbuck today is way more chaotic with so many customers coming in speaking loudly. A few SB I have been through have had cafe be quiet, but some of them have that one customer that feels like they need to scream to the world what they are doing today. Might as well give your full name and social security number while your at it, am I right?
