So... this video gets my vote for the best opening scene ever!! Hot griddle. Melting butter. That sizzle when the sausage hits the hot surface! Perfect! No words needed. Thank you Matt & Tipper!
I totally agree!! Best opening scene ever. Every time these two cook on camera I want to reach in an grab a bite, LOL, I come "unfed" real fast watching them fill their plates, despite just eating a big meal before tuning in.
Matt's tomatoes are having to be rationed, due to an unfortunate tomato seed snafu at the beginning of the season. Tipper and Corie are keeping mum in trying to uphold their reputation, and it has been fodder for much content this season! LOL! Good natured garden ribbing.
My husbands Mamaw grew up in the Great Smoky Mt National Park and the park moved her into a little house just outside the park borders. He told me a story of how she chased a BIG bear off her property with a BROOM at 80 years old as he tried to tear down her big bird feeder. Fierce Mountain woman!
Hi Tipper and Matt. Y'all have made me hungry. Why does eating outside make it taste better? My hat's off to whoever taught Matt how to cook. I truly believe you have both spoiled the other, as it should be. Hugs to you both.
I agree it is heart warming to see how they take such good care of and help each other. Speaking of eating outside, my son and I packed some food to eat after we went for hike on what was a warm day in May, it warm but not sultry (as my Grandma would say) and there was a good breeze that day too. One of things we packed was cucumber sandwiches and those were the most refreshing things after walking that long trail. I like cucumber sandwiches but biting into that after being on that long walk while we stood behind the car in the shade of the trunk lid with the breeze blowing, oh boy was that so good!
Y'all are my kind of people. We've used black sharpies for covering up things all our lives. Those sandwiches look so good & food just isn't the same when it's cooked outdoors. Prayer for Granny & hugs to all of you!
We had to replace our water heater about 9 months ago, and it was sticker shock. The first quote was around $2000, so we called our electric co-op. They had a rebate on a new one and a plumber they used. Including the installation, it was less than half that amount. They now have these little tanks on top for expansion--I'd never seen one like it. Both plumbers that came out predicted these new water heaters would only last 8 or 9 years now. It's crazy. It's planned obsolescence. My mother just replaced hers and it had lasted 40 years.
Matt is a number 1 egg flipper. Nothing beats cooking and eating outside. Coffee on the porch a real treat. Something just makes it smell and taste better.
This is a good lesson on why hunting can be a better thing for animals. I have seen, in bad winters, there isn’t enough natural vegetation for the Deer and they begin to starve and fall dead by the side of the road. I hated hunting until I moved where that happens. It is so sad to see. How nice to have your handsome husband cook you a nice breakfast. Can’t wait to show my husband and maybe I’ll get breakfast too. 😊. Thanks for inviting us to share your morning.
I lived in Bear Habitat on the back side of Cades Cove in the Smokey Mtns. We had bears at our cabin all the time so we were very bear aware. We had a very big sow and her three cubs that walked down in front of our cabin every morning and evening. She had a regular routine. It was great to see her but we did have to be cautious and vigilant. This time of the year they are in a feeding frenzy getting fat for winter. They are so interesting. We never left any food or bird feeders out to attract them. With a garden it's a lot harder to keep them at a distance. Love it that Matt has more time to spend at home and sharing with the family. Can't wait to see y'all on the porch when fall is here playing music.
Hi y'all! I have to say, I'm with Matt.... I have been known to fill - in spots on nicked furniture, with a permanent sharpie 😂😂😂. Truth be told, I'm kinda hard on my boots 👢, so I kinda have done that to them as well! Y'all just made me give out my secrets!😂 Did he mention Geritol...goodness that's an oldie!Thank you for sharing! God bless you both!
That is my kind of breakfast .. I kept saying while he was cooking first where is the cheese and come on where is the mayonnaise... Lol exactly the way we eat them here in the hills of Arkansas.. great video..
The bear makes me think of a couple years ago my son sent me a video .He was in his tree stand and there was a mommy and 3 cubs right under him walking around.I never prayed so hard in my life.He was calm I was ready to have a nervous break down.
Our water heater lasted about 10 years. The guy at Lowe's said that's about how long they last now. They wanted $600 to install it and we said, "Thanks but no thanks. We'll do it ourselves!" It was an all day job because the old fittings and new fittings didn't match. We had to go to a plumbing supply store for the connectors, but that was the hardest part.
That’s exactly how my husband cooks his breakfast. As for me, no mayo, thank you, and I like to dip my toast in a runny yolk. Thank you for filming for us. I’m so grateful!
I love this sandwich just as he made it but no to the mayo. I butter my bread with the egg , sausage or bacon which I prefer and cheese. No mayo with breakfast sandwich.
There is so much calcium in our water down here that I’ve been through three hot water heaters in 15 years. I sure wish I could get 28 years out of mine! What a blessing that would be!
I’ve been repla😢your vids as I impatiently await baby watch 2024 Appalachian style, round 1. I learn how to take a breath and pay more attention to family and nature. Different as it may be Oceanside in Boston mass. I care for my elderly dad alone, a tough old retired policeman with some early dementia and serious major depression at 80. He’s left church from it all. He’s loved listening to y’all. Loves the girls and your work ethic. I lived a few years in Charleston and loved a slower pace. Massholes we are called as we are tightly wound 😂😂😂 I’m 50 and lost my nursing profession patience I had. I’m now an end of life doula and have become much more spiritually in tune helping people on their way to going home. xo
Can’t believe Matt didn’t put a slice of Cherokee purple on that out of world sandwich. The sausage looked amazing! God bless you guys! What a way to start the day.
Matt sure can cook! That looked delicious! You are one blessed woman to have a good man like Matt, but then he is doubly blessed to have a good woman. Y’all were just meant to be together!
Tipper, we had dinner tonight with our niece who is a senior in high school. She had just come from a ceremony at the local technical school. One of the presenters said they were “eat up with scholarships this year.” My niece asked what that meant. I explained it to her and got a good laugh thinking of how she might have interpreted it. The conversation made me think of you so I thought I would share. Tell Matt my Papa would have added a nice thick layer of grape jelly to that sandwich had he been there.
I live in east central Texas and the deer around here come into the neighborhoods in herds , to bed down in our yards . And I agree with Matt , it's ridiculous . It's truly dangerous , for them and us !
I enjoyed Matt fixen the breakfast, reminded me of my 3 brothers, they were great cooks. Brother Richard worked nights and his wife days,so he always cooked supper. thank you for the memory. God Bless. Jean 💗&🙏's
I watched your yummy breakfast cooking and had to make me a breakfast sandwich too, minus the sausage because I had none. lol The twin bear cubs sound as delightful as your twin cubs but good you are watching out for Momma Bear!🐻 🤗 🤗 I can’t believe your water heater lasted so long! I think 10 years is about as long as ours last. Maybe our water is harder than yours. I enjoyed your talk on the porch! God bless!
Love eating outdoors . Everything tastes better outside especially coffee. Brings me back to my childhood going up to the lake hopatcong in Nj every Sunday during the summer. Eating breakfast and lunch by the lake with our huge Italian family. We would be the only family making sauce , pasta and meatballs for our big lunch. While others were grilling. Very happy childhood memories. I now live in south Florida . We are in a heat wave down here heat indexes in the 110°-115°, do not much eating outdoors right now. Our ocean temps have reached 100° . Very concerning for marine life , coral reefs and hurricane season. 😊. I enjoy all your videos . Thank you
Oh heavens to Betsy as many of my elders used to say. That breakfast looked delicious. I could even eat it without the bread. Thanks for cooking Matt. I enjoyed hearing about the bears and the water heaters and all the stuff you talked about. Hugs Tipper and Matt.
We’ve had some hard rain past 3 days. Tornado watch yesterday. (Southwest Va) I figured Matt would had put him a big slice of tomato on his sandwich. 😊 We still have a bear getting in our cattle feed, a lot of people seeing him but haven’t got him yet. We are seeing a lot of deer too. Big herds in the fields. My husband is like Matt as he can fix about anything, thank goodness! Good luck with replacing your hot water heater.
I live in Minnesota, and grew up in Wisconsin so I am familiar with bear. I went around the corner to the back of the cabin and a Black Bear and I almost hit noses, and I instinctively tore off running like crazy. Someone saw it happen and said the bear was running one direction and I was running the other direction, and they were laughing and saying the bear was more afraid of me then I was😮I'm just glad it wasn't a grizzly 🥶
You’ve probably seen the video of the bear in Lake Tahoe that comes into a convenience store, takes some candy bars, and leaves. The clerk just stands there and fusses at him. Not a lot else you can do!
We had a hot water heater like Mrs.Cindy it was an old mill house I was told then it was over 100 yrs old they quit making the metal ones in the late 50s I loved it because it always had hot water and the cannot was awsome in the kitchen
You are so lucky to have a Matt 😊 To cook breakfast, sit and eat/talk with you.. and fix things! I enjoy seeing your videos. Your family is blessed. ❤️
I’m blessed as well that my husband Tom can replace things that break down. We always say things sure don’t last as long as they used to. Blessings to Granny and you all. I’m in Tawas Mi for the week as soon as I got out my of my truck one then another bald eagles flew over. It was awesome. ❤️🙏❤️
Every time here lately, I catch a Channel I watch, they are Cooking..I think I'm gaining weight just from watching..sure wish I had someone to cook me some good country food or have enough good health to be able to for myself. BE CAREFUL with the bears and God Bless & Take Care..Hope Granny is Doing Better..
We have a house in Dandridge Tn on Douglas lake my husband has, large grill, and he cooks breakfast for the entire neighborhood. My husband love it 💁🏻♀️
Yay! A feast for some great people as yourselves! Is the sausage a secret recipe? If not, would love it...I am making some cabbage roll soup for Supper in the crockpot tonight to have for a few days..Tonight's menu is some link chicken sausage, and sliced cucumbers and sliced apples..Not too exciting but cleaning out the fridge..😅
I love visiting with you and Matt! It's like sitting on the front porch with y'all! The sandwich looked delicious. If Matt ever makes papa Tony's sausage I would love for him to do a video sharing the spices he uses.
Matt's egg skills leave me wishing for a video about that but I know it's probably not something that can be taught on a video. That breakfast is calling me! Love from Ohio!
Sweet and touching that Matt made you breakfast! Your a keeper Matt!! I was told the life span of a hot water heater is now 10-15 years. 15 years would be a lucky one.
Yum breakfast looks good even better when your hubby prepares it 🙂. We have invaded the wildlife homes so much they are now close by. More and more people want to build on the mountains and disturbs them. Hope your mama is doing better.
I must tell Matt that I just had his favorite sandwich- a fresh tomato on white bread & a big smear of Hellman’s Mayo. A dear friend just dropped off the tomato, & white bread. I provided the Mayo. The tomato was very ripe, warm & delicious. Of course I dropped the juice all over my clean t-shirt.
I love your countertops! The very first thing I noticed in your kitchen!!! I would love to have them!!! I am very much of same mindset as the two of you! Fancy and new does not matter to me, I use things til they are used up! And yes, super cheap made, throw away expensive stuff made today! No long life appliances for sure! I bet the new hot water heater won't last near as long as the last! My fridge is 30 years old and still going. Mom and dad have a deep freezer that's at least 75-80 years old! My deep freezer is over 40 years old. My smaller, newer one busted the seal and the inside top after the 3rd year! I watch you all everyday, its like spending the morning with your friends! God bless you all!
I was a nurses aide taking care of a man and he read from the paper black bears were seen in ohio and just a week later one was spotted down the street in a tree it even made the news. We both laughed about it😊
You and your hubby are so inspireing~ I just love the two of you. I loved eating on the porch when my hubby was still here. I love where you live, and feel like I've come home when I watch. Thank you so much for your sharing.
I love it that Matt gets a plan in his head and just makes what he wants. That’s the way I see things in my head but it keeps my brain gears spinning when I should be sleeping.
@@CelebratingAppalachiamy hubby can get by if for some reason I didn’t get to cook, but that’s one thing I take the lead on, and I’m ok with it! Just love u & Mr Matt❤
😋Those breakfast sandwiches 😋 I'm glad to know what your kitchen cabinets are made from because they're very nice. Duck tape, zip ties, & now sharpies, 1001 uses 😊
Y’all have such a wonderful, blessed life ❤ me and my husband are so similar in our wants. We are simple folks, our children are still young so our lives are still a little hectic but the little things are what we enjoy. Slow living at its finest! So love watching y’all ❤ thank you for sharing your lives with us.
Perfect way to start the day. I love to sit out a have a meal with our grands. They start school next week, but we've enjoyed many summer meals on the patio.
I agree regarding the countertop being wood. We put a 3/4 plywood for our countertop base & then put 1/2” pre finished “solid wood” ,with no finger joints, oak flooring on top. Wears like iron!! Can drop anything on it & no problem😊 will last longer than I do😁
You are so blessed to have Matt cook for you. You are right about everything tasting better when eaten outside. I truly enjoy sitting and watching your videos. It's like being with friends even though we've never met. Thank you both for sharing these moments with us. As Tennessee Ernie Ford used to say Bless your pea picking hearts. Lol ❤
I am so happy to see how you both care about each other your both so precious lm still praying for you and for granny Matt you cooked a dreamy sandwich ❤ Shelby
