I wonder why Jesus is not quoted as mentioning believing in him to be "saved" in the synoptic gospel's which were written first before any other "NT" books? When asked point blank about eternal life he says "keep the commandments". The gospel of the Kingdom is not a personal salvation gospel like is so popular in western civilization.
