I think some of your answers are in the description. I got the head tracker from AliExpress. If you would be powering it with a 2S or 3S battery, I would actually recommend getting the Fat Shark external head tracker that is also on AliExpress. I'm using a Radio Master Zorro transmitter. Getting all of this stuff set up was a chore but not bad. I plan on making a video on how to do it in the coming weeks. Let me know if there is anything else that you want more clarification on. I'm happy to help.
Doing aerobatics has some thrill because you know you're doing something that has risk. You do get the sense that you're watching a screen though from the lack of bodily experiences you're missing if you were really in an airplane doing the maneuver. I mostly fly in auto-level unless I'm doing something that requires 3D because there's less for me to think about and I'm usually just wanting to enjoy the views. However, I find it easier to fly 3D when doing FPV. Your controls never get reversed like when flying line of site towards yourself. Landing is pretty easy. I just cut the throttle when I'm close and then pull back on the elevator to flair a little as it gets very close to the ground to slow it down even more. The planes I use are pretty durable so there's room to make mistakes while figuring it out.
