I'd like to try a flight with a 7x3, which would let the motor reach a bit higher RPM range and maybe increase vertical climb. 2-blade props are always more efficient at this scale. Very cool video. Happy flying!

Thank You much! A 7x3 might work very well. Yes, I was surprised at how well this 1806 motor performed with the stock 4-blade prop. I think if they had put another 1/2" of pitch in the stock prop it would have been perfect. I do like the 2-blade props for these small, higher KV, lower torque motors. I'm hoping once my prop order arrives the last one I'm going to test will perform even better ;-) See you in the Air!

Great content. Caused me to get one. I immediately found a tiny buck dc to dc converter on amazon to reduce 3 cell voltage to the 7.2 volts needed by the receiver, used an old quad copter 12 amp esc with all the appropriate connectors applied and made a 3S machine with unlimited vertical. APC thin electric 7X4 and GNB 380mAH (which weighs about the same as the stock battery). Flights are short, but wow.

@@GroundControlRC I'm not as young as I used to be as evidenced by today when flying this thing, I pointed it up and gave it full throttle, and In an instant, it was too high for me to orientate visually. I had to watch it move to get orientation!

did the 5 x 7..love that its near Hobby Grade( Instructions terrible ). I Have had FUN!! Drilling ..it..into..the ground. Its a Tough Model. Finally had to get the Hot Glue Gun out. Fun. Thx for recommendation. Will Link to a New TX soon!

Nice test. Logically, the biggest the prop, the more lift you should get from the wing (useful for rather slow flying without stall) which comes under the air flow.

@@marielizysurourcq I've never had it dip a wing on me. Some of the very large loops I've performed in 3D Mode had the plane barely moving at the apex and it still held it's line. Same thing with the Split-S Maneuvers. Very stable airframe.

I put (1) spacer behind the prop and (1) spacer in front of the prop. That makes it nice and snug.

I received this bird and have flown it 3 times. I set it up per your recommended linkage adjustments and it will not aileron roll very well. How did you modify the spinner to fit the 7x5 thin electric prop. I am hoping this prop will improve the performance.

I used a contour gauge to get the exact shape of the of the prop profile and used a dremmel tool to grind to the shape of the profile. The 7x5 prop will make it feel like a different warbird. You also need a LIPO that can provide enough amps as the Stock LIPO can't. No worries! I fly with the GNB 2S 450mah and GNB 2S 550mah LIPOs and use some XT30 to JST Adapters. I like the weight and capacity of the GNB 2S 550mah LIPOs with the APC 7x5 Prop and I'd probably go with the lighter GNB 2S 450mah LIPOs if you're going to stick with the Stock Prop. Hum...I'm not sure if you're responding to someone else's post? I've only flown it with a 2S LIPO. I'll most likely test it with a 3S LIPO using a smaller prop.

No, still flying with a 2S LIPO and a 7x5 Prop. It has very good performance with that setup but if I decide to go 3S I'll be replacing the board and installing a Byme Gyro, 12A ESC, and SBUS RX.

How did u get your 7x5 prop on I put mine on and it slides on but when I put my nut on it doesn’t touch the prop there is a small space in between ….i tried a orange 6x3 and it fits perfect …I put the four blade back on and been running 3s 300 and 3s 450 45c and no problems yet but that radio is not good after using spectrum it feels like you have to force it to move idk what it is but love the plane but don’t like the radio…I herd what u said now I didn’t even think to use another spacer

The 7x5 Props I provide links to come with a set of spacers. I used 1 in the front and 1 in the back of the prop. Fits nice.

@@GroundControlRC I just used one in back and it held tight … I used the 7x5 with my 3s 300 30c and 3s 450 45c …. Had to run full blast on 30c but the 45c it flew good …but yesterday I tried same batteries with a 6x3.5 and omg it did good on the 45c but terrible on 30c …not liking radio at all seems so laggy with controls

@@snauzze7007 I think I might put a more capable motor on it so it has unlimited vertical on 2S with this 7x5 prop and replace the RX/Gyro/ESC with a RadioLink Byme-A/SBUS RX/10--12A ESC so I have full manual mode and just wind mitigation as well as full stabilized mode. I did that with the FlyBear SBACH 342 and it feels like a new plane. I can now perform aerobatics without any assistance from the gyro. I have so many projects going on right now I don't know when I'll be able to get to it though. I just converted the FlyBear Cessna 182 to 2S and the QF009 SU35 to 3S ;-)

@@johanw.1673 Oh, I thought you were asking about a 2S LIHV? Certainly you can MOD the electronics to use whatever size size LIPO you wish but I thought you were asking about what you could use as it is stock, were you not? I don't know the size of the Spinner but it may be listed as a spare part.

i have had my A280 for since it was released and have just gotten around to putting it together. Only problem i have is that it didnt come with a prop nut. any idea of the size and pitch of the nut so i can at least find a suitable replacement

Hi Albert! I think that it's M5 Nut but I don't know what the pitch is. I'd see if my local hardware had any 5mm Nuts.
