Thank you for your beautiful watercolor demonstrations. I love landscapes and the Abandoned Farmhouse you did was my intro to your painting. Love impressionism, too! Please keep adding videos here, its been too long.😞
I like this painting. Especially the jagged & abstract parts of the fore trees where the branches go horizontal & where the magenta meets the dark green.
Hi Patrick Ley-Greaves, I came across you yesterday via Liron Yanconsky and I am delighted to see your beautiful watercolour paintings and tutorials. This particular one is super and loving the colours in particular. Thank you and hope to see many more.
This was a delight to watch. I love the freedom you have brought to your watercolour work as a result of the oil painting. At first I thought the deep blue band in the distance was the sea but then you went in a opened the whole thing up into far away fields rimmed with trees - still strong but also delicate. The foreground is fabulous, the strong red tones, the cutting in with green! I like this one a lot. Thanks for a great video and painting experience.
Thanks Patricia, it was very enjoyable to paint. Your right the distant fields were just suggested and with the addition of blue help to push it all back. Looking forward to trying the same approach on a more structured scene , buildings etc. 😀
Thank you Patrick a delightful 30 mins spent watching a blank piece of paper turned into this lovely, colourful watercolour painting. You certainly inspire us to pick up our paints and brushes to get cracking and paint again, the urge to paint never leaves me but circumstances put a leash on me.
It’s always great to enjoy a painting come to life when the artist says that they are enjoying themself. Before you added the little detail in the distance I thought I dont know about this but at the end, WOW. Wouldn’t that be great to see this scene out the back window each day. This has been great and I have enjoyed your excitement too. Here in Texas it is very flat and mostly you see here are fields of cotton not all this beautiful color. Take care of your self and your family.
Thanks Essie I appreciate your comment.I’m sure your aware being an artist yourself a painting in progress often goes through an ugly stage before coming together. Lots of artists cast it aside to early, I like to see it through to the end as I’m often pleasantly surprised by the end result.
Very impressive! You expressed the landscape with just few strokes. Great colors as well! Happy New Year, my friend! Looking forward to see your next upload!
Hi Patrick, Thank you for your interesting videos. I struggled for many years to paint loose and found a great tip and solution almost overnight. What was it? Simple! Forget your pencil and only use your brush to paint And use the biggest you can. Every success
@@PatrickLeyGreaves think I'm opposite, my watercolours have helped me to get loose with oils. Not that I've done any oil painting for a bit but I'm sure it's gona help me
Thanks for this. Have shared with my classes that are unfortunately on hold at the moment. Lovely to find realistic and informative tutorials i can pass on, and yours are great, thank you.
I enjoyed watching you paint this pic. Can you tell me the name of your little blue Flat brush you began the painting with please? Thank you for your instruction
