In this series, Lopaka brings you some of Hawaii's Most Haunted places.
Master storyteller, Lopaka Kapanui, brings to life the feared Nightmarchers, the goddess Pele, Menehune, e‘epa, mo‘o and more. But… Hawaiian deities and spirits aren’t the only things residing in this island paradise. Here is also where the Japanese dog demons, the inugami, are sent to ruin the lives of unsuspecting families. Here is where the Filipino vampire-like creature, the aswang, roams in search of her next victim. And here is where the Portuguese witch, the feiteceira, spins her spells and curses at her whim. Rich in culture and traditions, these islands are overflowing with stories of ghosts and hauntings, creatures and curses. Lopaka is the keeper of these stories.
Beyond the cool, blue waters and balmy trade winds of our idealistic paradise is the thin veil which separates our world from the place where shadows talk back. Spirits, Ghosts, Legends, Facts... Experience the Hawaii most don't see every day.

My friends live on a piece of land in Orchidland in Olaa next to a large tract owned by the shipman ppl going from olaa to the ocean it was a banana plantation until early 2000s now it’s abandoned. There’s a burial ground back there with T shaped and O shaped mounds. It’s filled with many large canoe pines. It’s known to be haunted. Once, I walked back there along. I was always told to be careful just in case an employee was patrolling the area which happened occasionally before it was abandoned. As I was walking I heard a big truck rush through the banana road, I ducked under a fallen canoe pine. I listened as the truck stopped and a group of people hopped out the back. I could hear them talking and they sounded somehow off… then after a few minutes the sounds went away, but the truck never made a sound of leaving… I peaked out and there was no one, no truck… nothing. I believe I saw a ghost memory of the workers that tended to the banana plantation and cleared out the land in the 80s and 90s. Their voices even sounded like they were from that time. So did the truck… it’s very haunted back there.

Hmm neva no that. Don't live to far from there. You have any stories on Kaua'i ? I remember young time when we used to go frogging in the middle of the night, we'd walk through some cane fields in the old KumuKumu camp above Kealia. My cousin would always warn me that we will hear a baby crying when we go through a section of the canefield. Like clock work we hear a baby crying. Many more stories in the area. Also along Wailua golf course. Many unexplainable accidents along a stretch of road

If you know all this about Ola'a, do you know any stories about the big haunted abandoned village in the middle of a Puna Subdivision? I've been on that "whispering Banyan walk", that's why. Just wondering if you know more about it.
