Exactly. And from my experience, at least the current leadership of Sharon and Dexter are the least corrupt department by far. Trying their best to handle the huge list of responsibilities from the state bureaucracy/employees from legislatures with almost no funding from the legislature who routinely gives $60 million plus each year just for HTA. Let alone all the other useless corrupt spending. HDOA are way better than ADC which even after failing their audit the legislature goes after the ethics auditor instead of the ADC. Everyone knows what landscape turf installation company did it already 🥥 🛜 🐜

Edit: Sorry I misread at first, you were already smart enough to move, Georgia seems like a great state if I wasn’t so connected and in love with this place would consider it. I know why everyone is leaving. I was going to say If you’re expecting anything from Hawai’i government I would recommend returning to Georgia 🇬🇪 way better but hopefully I’m wrong and we can get the invasives under control. Amazing been mostly successful in keeping rabies and snakes out. The current heads of HDOA are the best by far we’ve ever had here and the legislature is acting like it’s their fault. Land and power in Hawai’i is a great book the names have changed and criminals consolidated but it’s far worse now. But Georgia has fire ants and other problems like everywhere so guess best to remain optimistic and working on what can.
