Dare I say Hawes is better than Sedona? It's definitely better than South Mountain IMO ... Just seems so flowy and well maintained. I know that's not everyone's cup of tea, but I love jumps, drops, berms and speed. That's my favorite thing about MTB, and Hawes seems to have it more than anywhere else in AZ!!
hawes for flow, somo for chunk. I prefer the flow. FYI brown's ranch is even better than hawes. But that's over an hour away from me and hawes is only 20 minutes, so hawes is my fave@@topspot4834
South Mountain gets all the RU-vid fanfare as the must ride spot in Phoenix. I much prefer that East Valley flow at Hawes. RMR and Big Sister are my personal favorites. I enjoyed this video.
I ride these trails multiple times every week. But watching you guys ride these is like watching a new trail. The way you guys ride is so different than how I do. One day I’ll be as stylish and fast. Well done. Very entertaining to watch.
Alex's olympic long-jump at 2:17. Love seeing more of his wild turns on High Ridge. Between watching him and the incredible scenery, I'd be picking cactus out of my face before long.
Sunset, RMR, High Ridge, Mine, Big Sister are my favorites in that order. RMR and High Ridge have those sniper rocks that ramp up the pucker factor! Great vid dude, hope I can see you on the trails some time.
I've been travelling all through Arizona this winter and Hawes has been one of my favorites so far (aside from Sedona). The climb trail up to the High Ridge is another great trail as well. Great video and looking forward to spending another month in Phoenix to sample the other trail networks.
I’m down here in Florida at bomboyet and just followed an ebike for 2 hours (me on an non ebike XC mtb) and it felt just like you guys looked riding! Lol as usual you guys look super human!
I often visit Phoenix in the winter for mountain biking. In the past, I've just ridden South Mountain, but thanks to your earlier video (showing "Red Mountain Rush"), I tried out Hawes when I was in the area last month. I love it - it's a mellower and flowier alternative to the brutality of South Mountain!
@3:37 wtf WHO KEEPS CUTTING THE FENCE RIGHT THERE!! That's not the entrance to the trails!! the entrance is just a little bit to your west, it has one of those cattleguard hump things that you can roll over. not blaming you for using this as an entrance if someone else cut it open, but when HTA fixes it please don't encourage others to damage the fence again! That's the kinda crap that is going to hurt our cause and make it harder to continue building trails in the area Those fences are there for a reason and cutting them open is a total a-hole thing to do
didn't realize I had to participate in those to be upset at people vandalizing the structures installed by the forest service.... lol but I didn't say you did it... sorry if I went on too much of a rant about it on your video. @@natehills9388 I had to google dig days to figure out what that even meant but I probably will get involved at some point. I'm still pretty new, I guess I started right before people started cutting that fence and wearing in a new unauthorized connector trail to it. I first saw it cut open after I had been riding wild horse regularly for a while and I was like wtf. Anyways... I just started riding again after a pretty long hiatus, went down big sister for the first time ever this morning and it was pretty sweet but the ride up twisted was brutal for me. Really puts the fitness and skills displayed in this video into perspective lol.
