The stainless steel DLX exhaust system is also a substantial upgrade over the black painted standard Hawk exhaust system. And unlike many of those aftermarket Honda exhaust systems "that some Hawk riders try to adapt" this system actually fits properly and won't melt the air-box, and/or right rear turn signal, and/or right rear plastic, etc.
These are all great points thank you very much for letting me know. So far I haven't really enjoyed riding this bike. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel.
If you are gonna buy one I would highly recommend greasing all moving parts and using shrink wraps and electrical tape on all electrical openings that are exposed so when it gets wet it doesn’t turn into a bonfire or stop working, Chinese bikes are kinda known for that.
I definitely think this is a great idea, they also make some silicon type material that will help protect all of the parts of you apply it to the electrical components that would be exposed. I think this is what I would recommend. So far I have not had any problems but I also live in a very dry climate. Thank you so much for your info and for watching and supporting my channel.
getting this out of the truck is gonna be entertaining was an understatement.lol.im still laughing.but for what is worth i used your link and ordered one, hope you make a couple of bucks from the sale.keep doing what you do my man.
Wow Bill, thank you so much! I try to keep things entertaining but sometimes it gets a little out of hand LOL. Thanks for the support and I hope I make a couple bucks too :) I really appreciate you watching and supporting my channel.
@@hanzdidit I had only Russian Soviet era motorcycles before and quality wise Hawk feels familiar to whatever I ever had before. So my notion of quality remains skewed cause it's kinda shit you typically expect from communist regimes. Other than that I still can't believe I got it for the price of cup of coffee, mindblowing.
I have had both bikes the carbureted version and the DLX I like the TLX a little bit better but they are both really good bikes. Lots of fun to rip around on. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel.
Got the 2020 hawk 250 it came tuned nicely from rps it idlles and startes up quick but the knobbys can be a little loud on the road but in my oppnipn I'm glad I got the basic model
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the basic model. I had one of those as well and it was a super fun day to ride. I am actually considering getting one more so my friends could come ride with me. Thank you so much for watching.
Just found your channel for the first time and I'm loving it already! Instantly recognized the mountains in the background, I just moved away from Bend and miss it so much... I have a question though! Power-wise, which bike feels more powerful? do they hit speed the same? Does one accelerate faster?
To be honest the carbureted hawk and the EFI hawk 250 really felt similar in the speed and gearbox. It is much easier to start the EFI version and the suspension is much better. I did a side-by-side video with the K p.m. if you want to watch that. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-L6Q2OKSSvc8.html
I will definitely make more videos about this bike I'm not sure if you saw my other video on the carbureted version here is the link if you would like to see it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ojzfl3XTjZ0.html
This bike is far better than any Harley for the money very reasonable prices. The most you will spend is $2,100 for everything to your front door. Amazon offers great deals. Goodbye Harley here comes the Hawk 250 that dominate the motorcycle industry.
Yes it does come with oil in it when it is shipped. But it is some kind of low grade crappy oil just for shipping purposes. The instructions say to change the oil right away when you get it, which I did. It was crazy when I drained the oil it smelled so weird and looked like there was water in it. I do not recommend running the bike with that oil. It does not take very much oil in it is pretty cheap to do so it is worth just taking the precaution. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel.
Haha this is amazing as well. I actually just had this in my Amazon cart but ughh they don't deliver to CA cause they say it's not legal! Super annoying cause I just want a dirt bike I don't need to register it or have it street legal but they won't send it here.. Anyways subbed keep up the great content
This is my second Hawk 250 and I was able to register both of them at the DMV here in the US with no problems. I got plates and title for both with the paperwork provided from the seller. It is too bad you can't get one in Canada but there may be some other options. I will be reviewing some new bikes here on my channel that might work for you in the future. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel.
Thank you so much for getting LOL. Thank you for watching and supporting my channel! It is comments like these that make me want to keep making videos thank you so much.
I did not experience any weird smells other than a little bit of breaking in, it might smell like forever but I don't think that there is anything to be concerned about. Please let me know if there is I would love to be able to warn people.
@@hanzdidit I did get ahold of the place I bought it from and they confirmed that the smell is nomal paint buring of the the exhaust and engine. Smells like buring carmel corn.
This hawk DLX from Amazon has been really amazing. I don't have a lot of miles on it but every time I go to start it up at fires right up and has not given me any trouble yet. I do keep it on a battery tender and it helps a ton to make sure that things don't die in the winter time but I'm not riding due to the snow and ice. For in an expensive Enduro I highly recommend this bike.
I'm so glad this video helped, these bikes are super fun for the price I totally agree with you. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel!
hey man! in over on the Oregon coast.. how hard was it for you to get this bike registered? before I look into buying one I was hoping for an idea on how difficult it is to get plates and stuff in Oregon.
It really is not that hard, you will need to go to the state of Oregon website and get a certificate showing that you have paid for the import. On all of my bikes it was under $20. Take that certificate to the DMV and within about 20 minutes you will have tags and a plate. It is pretty simple and definitely worth the time. Thank you so much for watching I hope this video is helpful.
Hanz, Can you tell me if you had a issue with your DLX stalling at idle after warming up. I can not figure out why after about 20 minutes of ridding my DLX it drops from 2000 rpm to stalling.
It could be that you have dirty fuel. That would be my first gas. I would try to get a fuel additive and put it in the tank to see if you can clean it up. Good luck. Let me know if that works.
I had the carburetor chinese bike and it kept stopping because the jets would get stuck. They have a fuel injected one now. The 2022 Hawk 250 dual sport. However, NYS outlawed baffled exhausts like the Yoshimuri and the FMF. Would this pipe pass NYS inspection?
I am not 100% sure, my suggestion would be to get it inspected before you make the modifications. Keep the old parts just in case you need to have it re-inspected but in Oregon we do not have a DEQ anymore. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel.
I did not have to adjust any of the valves or for that matter anything about the bike, I just put it together and everything seem to work. Thanks for watching I hope it was helpful.
Hey Hanz! Sorry to bother you again! I am shopping the China bikes hard, and I keep coming back to your Hawk videos! People like you and MOTOCHEEZ and so many others that have posted their experiences have really helped me! I love the DLX because I do not want to have to deal with a carburator and warm ups on cold days. I use non-ethanol fuel in all of my vehicles now, so carburation would probably not be a problem, but I love the piece of mind of EFI. Just wondering how your DLX is doing these days. Can you update us on any issues you may have had with the Hawk DLX? I am a hair's breadth away from ordering one, and your videos have definitely helped move me along in that direction. Thanks again Hanz!
I would definitely recommend the DLX with the EFI. I've had both bikes it's not a huge deal but using the choke and getting it to warm up is kind of a pain in the butt with the regular cheaper Hawk. It's not the end of the world but if you do live in a cold climate it just takes a little while longer to get it up to temperature. Good luck with your decision thank you so much for watching.
Been contemplating possibly buying a couple of these, doing the upgrades and then selling. There is a dirt trail park near me and I think I would be able to make a few bucks, but not sure if it’s worth it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I do not want to be a dream crusher, but I have lost money on every one of these bikes that I have bought. People do not understand when you upgrade them that they could be worth more than what you could buy them for on Amazon. Maybe if people saw you riding it it might be a different story. Maybe try one out first to see if it works and can make you some money. Thanks so much for watching.
After my first off-road excursion on this bike I would definitely consider lowering the rear suspension because I am too short for it 5'7" the clearance that is about 12 inches now if I lowered it, it would make it closer to 8 inches which would be more suitable for me. If you are a tall person this bike would be great out of the box. I had a couple of really good riders with me and they both took it for a spin and it is a lot of fun for the price, They are both about 6 foot tall and it fit them perfectly. When I lower it I will definitely put a skid plate on it. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel.
Stock without changing any sprockets it will go about 65 MPH if you have a little tail wind and are going downhill. I have heard if you change the sprockets that you can get them to do about 75 miles an hour pretty easy. Hope this helps, thank you so much for watching.
Thank you so much for your input. I will definitely keep my eye on the axle grease and make sure that the bolts are all nice and tight. Thanks so much for watching.
No I still had a lot left, I was shifting through the gears and has not even come close to reaching the top speed. As I was shifting through the gears I probably was three-quarter throttle. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel.
To be honest with you I rode both of them and I did not notice a huge difference in power. I know there are things you can do to the carbureted one to try to get more power by changing the carburetor. I did change mine out on my first Hawk but I did not see much power difference. The nice thing about the carbureted version is that you do not have to mess with the carb if you are at different elevations. It is easier to start and ride and the suspension is way better. So yes I believe the EFI Version is much better and worth the money, thank you so much for watching.
What is your top speed and does it rev limit or is it power that slows you down. I want to get one to add to the stable lol. I font own any Chinese stuff yet.
There is a limiter but after riding it a few time that it feels like a 200cc just not super powerful. Fun to ride and it gets around just not breaking any speed records. This is a great first bike. for someone to learn to ride.
Thanks OfficialBlasianBoi I love making videos like this somebody liked it and thank you so much for your support, I've been trying to grow this channel it is guys like you that make it better. I go to check out the playlist I have a whole bunch of these bikes he might be interested in. Thanks again, have a great day.
I have seen this bike advertised with a six speed transmission and I can guarantee you that there are not six gears, you might wanna verify with the seller to make sure that is an actual spec. I hope this helps thanks for watching.
there's an x-pro 2020 hawk 250 on Facebook marketplace for $800, I'm worried there's something up but the description says there's absolutely nothing wrong, its nearby so it wouldn't hurt to look at it I suppose.
Ask them if they change the oil after they got it. This would be the only thing that could be wrong with it unless it has a ton of miles. The oil that they ship with it is kind of terrible oil just made for shipping, if they never changed it it could have some where in tear in the engine that could be a problem down the road. Hopefully that bike works out for you sounds like a good deal, Thank you so much for watching.
It's been a little while but yes I think I recall having one or two extra plugs that did not plug into anything. The ones that I did plug-in made everything work so that was all that mattered when I was putting it together. I hope you have a blast with the bike, they are a lot of fun. Thank you for watching and supporting my channel.
The previous hawk that I had I sold for exactly what I was into it after DMV fees and shipping. People seem to be confused about the DLX and everybody that is commenting on how much I want for it says they can get it for way cheaper online. It is just not the correct motorcycle they are looking at they are looking at the base not the DLX. Hopefully this video is helpful and thank you so much for watching.
Thats a bummer. so far I really like it. I need to get it plated and then I can really give it a breakdown. Thanks for watching an supporting my channel!
I am 5'7" and i can ride it just fine. The spring is adjustable so you can even get the bike a little lower if you want. Also you can have a upholstery shop shave the seat foam so that it is shorter and then recover it. I hope this helps. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel.
I'm 5 5 and I can drag it out most of the time on the bike with no fuss. When it does give me fuss I just go on one side grab the handlebars and the back side bars and just roll it along.
I do believe these have the California emissions. The company I bought it from the first time was in California so that would make sense. Thanks so much for watching hopefully this video is helpful.
I think he will really like either one the DLX is the fuel injected and that is the one I would recommend just because it starts and runs a lot better all the time. This bike is really set up for somebody that is about 6 feet tall I am only 5'7" and it is a bit too tall for me. It does have an adjustable shocks so I was able to lower it just a little bit but by doing that it loosened up the suspension in the rear quite a bit. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel.
I'm sure you could ride it but it would be a very tall bike and you would be on your toes or have to side saddle when you stop. I think it is a great bike but I'm not sure that it would work very well for shorter people unless you were able to lower the suspension which most of these bikes you can now. The other thing you could do is shave the seat so that you do not have quite as much foam which will make it easier for your feet to get on the ground. Hopefully this is helpful thanks so much for watching and supporting my channel.
The compnents on the Hawk 250 DLX are much better and it is a 230cc where the lifan x-pect 200 is acutely less then 200cc. If you are looking for a light duty endro motorcycle I think the hawk is a better choice. I think no mater what bike you choose if you keep fresh oil in the engine, these bike should last a long time. Thanks for watching.
Too be honest with you I'm still trying to break the bike in I've had it up to 55 but that was as fast as I wanted to take it before my break in period of about 300 miles. I will definitely test that out and I will take it off road and get some more videos out very soon. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel.
This bike is not made for doing 30 foot table top Jumps. But for a basic trail riding and commuting this bike is absolutely great. I am used to riding much faster and more powerful motorcycles. This thing kind of feels like a toy that I can just take out and rip around on in the dirt and ride to work on warm days, I have taken it off road a few times and it seems to handle just fine. I will definitely do some follow up videos on some trails to see how it does. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel.
Like an idiot I gave into my friends death wish going 40 on a trail with steep dips large rocks and sharp turns and came out alive I even hit decent size rocks at 25-30 and nothing got damaged it also climbs like a beast so definitely go off-roading with it just be more responsible than me lol. ( EDIT) Also miraculously I didn't wreck last time I did one of the plastics on the tank cracked and my left rear view cracked in the base so its decently durable too.
You should be able to get it registered anywhere but you have DEQ... You could probably get it tuned so it would pass the DEQ test. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel.
It is a great place to live but it is getting really crowded here. I still love it but there are a lot of new faces that are not smiling in this town. Hopefully the video was helpful and thank you so much for watching.
I make sure you have enough oil in it, and also make sure that your gas is not shut off at the valve. It does take a little bit of gas to get these running so you wanna make sure you have at least a half a gallon in the tank. Hopefully that helps. Thank you so much for watching.
I have to agree that they are getting better but they are still fairly cheap. If you've been to China they've got the scooter thing figured out they are all over the place. Thanks so much for watching and supporting my channel.
Hi Hanz, I hope you see this. So I'm a struggling 24 year old who burns holes through his pockets. I've been doing a lot of research and this bike seems to be pretty awesome. Considering the kickstart version to save money. Also I live in an apartment so would this bike be ok by itself? Grew up on dirt bikes so love the layout. Also want to learn how to put a bike together and work on it. Do these require a lot of work? Also would highway riding out of town to family be doable? Maybe upgrade to street tires? Perhaps you can make a follow up video and touch up on these? Anyways good video keep up the great content.
If I had it to do over again I would definitely get the DLX because it does have a key and the your injection is way less finicky than a carburetor. These are definitely not meant for the highway although I did manage to get it up to about 58 miles an hour, but I would not feel comfortable writing this on a busy highway. I know that there are additional gears you can buy that will make it go faster but I do not know enough about it to give you any good information. If you are looking for a commuter or something to get around just in town this is definitely a fun little bike to buy. Hopefully I have answered your question and thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel.
For the money it is going to be hard to find a bike that looks and rides this nice out of the box. I would definitely buy another one it is a super fun bike to ride. Thank you so much for watching.
When I got mine the kickstand was already on it. I know that there were a couple of loose bolts that probably happened during shipping but I was able to get everything tightened back up. Maybe your kickstand bolt fell out during shipping. I wish I had a better answer for you but thank you for watching and supporting my channel.
Out of the box it is about 68mph you can change sprockets and things to get it to go faster but he was a little torque. Thank you so much for watching.
@@hanzdidit I don't know much about bikes and there Dimensions but I'm 5"9 5"10 on a good day 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂 would I have problems as well on a DLX or am I good ????
Thats funny... but if my brother Fronz where there he would have pick you up by your love handles and carried you around like a suitcase then he would have pumped! you! up! Seriously though thank you for watching and supporting my channel.
Please subscribe to my channel and you will be able to see the updated videos, I made a separate video writing off road. here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6JYuyfzSit4.html I hope this gives you a better idea of what it is capable of and answer some of your questions. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel.
I think I am going to buy this instead of spending 4K on a Honda or Ktm I like it and it will do Do you still have it because if you don’t want it I will buy it
This is the second video Ive watched on this bike where the assembler had no PC with a DVD. I don't know. That's just weird for me. I completely understand buying devices without them, but I don't understand not keeping at least one device available that does... FTR, you can get USB DVD drives pretty cheap. If you have an old non-working PC or laptop with a DVD drive in it, there are USB enclosures that will allow you to use a drive that you take out of old devices. Ok. I'm done. Wrench carefully. Ride safely.
I guess I just find it easier to use RU-vid or other sources of online video or instructions. Like they say to each their own. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel.
I just looked it up myself and currently I can't even find one that is available. I'm not sure what the pricing is because I don't even think you can get them right now. I think it is a supply chain problem. Hopefully they will get more in stock soon, thanks for watching and supporting my channel.
that is the problem with these damn videos ....all i wanted was a demo on the bike and i have to watch a selfie program!!! everybody on YT wants to own thier own broadcast station!!
