brandon hill the hawk has bigger talons the cat and a very strong grip, when that hawk gets a grip of the cat it’s over for the kitty, unless the cat can bite its neck.
@@EliteReviews you are right, but the can only win if they are able to hold down the prey with their claws. Cats are too big and too strong, the hawk would not be able to stop the cat from biting. The fight would soon be over.
@@naturicgamer7440 the proof that a red tailed hawk can kill a tiny kitten, not the proof that a coopers hawk, which is half the weight of a rth, can kill an adult cat that has at least eight times his weight. She would finish him within seconds.
You might be surprised. Hawks can be mean little dudes. Their talons are the equivalent of the cat's claws and their beak is made for shredding flesh, not just puncturing like the cat's teeth. The bird may have been a bit smaller than the cat, but there's a very good chance the cat would come out on the losing end, even if the bird was injured in the process.
Hawk isn't upset, its Hungry and wants to eat the Cat. Cat is its food. They can kill the cat with its claws by crushing its head or neck. If you let the cat out, he won't come back and will be that hawk's food
Interestingly, everyone would bet on my falcon. In our countryside, the cat (about 11 kg) regularly kills hawks and then puts them in front of the door. Waiting for your reward.
@@epicdropsoup4248 Grrreat video clip... the real thing! Birds and glass? I had a wood pigeon hit the window, at top speed, punching a hole in it before flying right into our lounge, circling the light fitting and zooming straight back out through the same hole... seemingly uninjured!!! Over in seconds... if only it was on film? Well done to you for capturing this!
Sara Allison my 10 lbs dog scares and kills cats every time I let her outside, but I bring her inside once she runs away or gets a hold of the neighbors cat.
Maybe, but that hawk would have trouble with a good sized cat. The cat may be hurt or killed, but the hawk would have been fucked with just one bite (bacteria from a cat's bite is deadly to small animals and birds).
hawks are predators and people are surprised to find out that cats and small dogs are one of their preys especially when they are urban hawks they adjust to catching what they can for food. thank goodness your cats were inside!
Grrreat video clip... the real thing! The hawk keeps looking at those golf balls/'eggs' by the step... pure instinct makes it PROTECT IT'S EGGS... mystery solved, eh!? But, regarding birds and glass? I had a wood pigeon hit the window, at top speed, punching a pigeon-sized hole in it before flying right into our lounge, circling the light fitting and zooming straight back out through the same hole... seemingly uninjured!!! Over in seconds, it cost me a packet to have the window re-glazed... if only it was on film? Well done to you for capturing this! On another occasion, a European Kestrel swooped down from the house guttering and whacked our Yorkshire Terrier... a glancing blow!! Isn't Nature wonderful!
Awesome footage! Strange because it really doesn't have much of a chance vs a cat. Maybe it doesn't even know what the rest of that cat's body looks like or what a cat is.
I wish we could eradicate every bird of prey from this Earth. When I was young we had a golf course by her house and me and my dad and brother would walk back and get golf balls clean them up and resell them whatever it was an early hustle LOL we had a small Chihuahua then no matter how many times we would put her in the house she always wanted to walk with us. It wasn't far at all maybe a six or seven minute walk. we hit a field we had to walk through and next thing you know we hear my dog screaming. A hawk had her down into the ground trying to kill her. I don't know what happened maybe she was too heavy to carry but she ended up passing away. Since then I've always hated birds of prey. Even though she wasn't my dog she was my brother's no matter what it was still very sad. Rest in peace Chiquita 😢
While I was living in northern Virginia, I once heard tapping noise at my back sliding glass door to the patio: I didn't think much about it until it progressively increased until it was like someone knocking on a door. I opened the curtains and blinds - to my surprise it was a Peacock! I thought about approaching the Peacock, but then I remembered the hilarious story by the great comedian Jim Breuer - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1RonIEhHXRk.html
I am not a Ornithologist, but the hawk in the video looks like a Sparrow Hawk because a Cooper's Hawk is much larger. I have seen some Cooper's Hawks in my neighborhood and region that could kill a pet cat. Have you ever watched that video of a Hawk vs Bobcat or it was a Hawk vs Lynx? The video showed it was a draw!
I used to have a big cat, he was able to kill an Eagle, a big one, I would have let the cat take care of that stupid Hawk, that bird, no matter is a Hawk is no match for that cat... Hawk for dinner!
*XYXY* First, anybody who let's their cat kill a hawk would be a bit of trouble as hawks are protected. Cats can kill hawks if they come from behind and stay away from talons. Small hawks like this LIKELY would have been toast to a good sized, fit cat. Larger hawks/eagles can be killed in the right circumstances. From the air and by surpirse, cats and even medium sized dogs would be in trouble.
