I wonder how many times they had Jan-Michal Vincent in for the stock footage interior shots. I can hear them now, "Okay, put the helmet on and look menacing, okay, more menacing, a little more. Good, let's call it a day."
Good old days. First season was the best one. Every episode was just great, the music was amazing, and the scenes where new and fresh never seen. Wish they would make a new series or movie. Just bad we cannot have the same stars.
Airwolf is responsible for shooting down most of the Cuban air force, there were at least three times that Airwolf tangled with Cuban MiGs. You think they try to avoid battling the black helicopter that destroy an army easily. Cuban pilots, "it looks like rain. We staying on the ground." I finally saw the movie "The Hunters" were MiG footage came from. It was nicely done in the episodes.
It must be 25 years since my introduction to Airwolf and this was the first episode I saw. To this day I still get chills as Dominic spits out "you slimy, lying piece of garbage!" followed by The Lady coming round that cliff and the first shots being fired!
Airwolf obliterates everything they have on the ground and their helicopters. Guy gets on the radio "Quick send our jets up so he can blow them out the sky as well"
This is the episode when Stringfellow Hawke almost lets on that he doesn't need a co-pilot 😅. "yes I can reach the countermeasures buttons but I can't see the computer monitor. Don't worry Dom, you're not obsolete yet!" In season 4 they attach a computer monitor to the front for the pilots 🤣.
Not good in season 4 rubbish new cast disaster jan michael had drink problems he could have still struggled but season 4 could have carried on with him because he is still the main guy others also important but its him really
@@Carlos-gl3yh He was the smartest one of the group. 🙂 He became their newest instructor. His first lesson to the latest pilots: If you see a sleek black helicopter with a white belly--he can go anywhere he wants cause you won't stop him.
Usually, missiles are fired through a thumb button and guns through the trigger. However, on the pilot and this episode, missiles are fired through the trigger. Always thought that was odd.
right not just that after the lady goes into combat mode for the best part of the show one sec she's in combat mood goes to do a manuver then she's no longer in combat mnode then back again it gets my blood running lol. and plus the episode where hawke is teaching catlyn the controls he flat out said they have access to all weapons long as they are not at moch 1 now i could be wrong but i always thought in order to use the turbo's the lady could not be in combat mode. please tell me if i am wrong on that and good day
Good point but it is extremely unlikely the U.S would ever export Sidewinders to Cuba so is a Soviet take on the missile which may or may not be I.R. Can't remember the specs for that missile.
even as a kid i'd notice that the lady be in combat mod one sec then do a manuver and not be in combat mode then back and also noticed that hawke would use different control buttons for the wheapons at first he used the trigger for the guns then used the trigger for the rocket then back to guns lol. that said the lady is the reason im becoming a pilot
Talentless buffoon Arnold would ruin it all. No gravitas, no talent. Santini was jolly, but he wasn't a clown - he was an experience pilot, and man of courage and integrity, and in the fight whenever needed. There would be plenty of better alternatives. Paul Sorvino would a much better job.
@@smartasianfriend9940 I always thought Robert Duvall would make a good Dom, if they ever did a remake. And I always wanted to play Hawk. It would never, EVER happen, but a guy can dream. I wanted to be in the last Ghostbusters movie, too, so I could drive Ecto-1.
I realize they couldn't cuss, back then, but "You slimy, lyin' piece o' garbage" was so cheesy. A MUCH better line would have been "I figured you'd double cross us. That's what I brought TWO beautiful señoritas."
