Back again for the start of the new season with some hawking action on the high ground and accompanied by our new arrival. Just a quick word of thanks to my Canadian hawking buddies across the pond for making us so welcome when we visited in the summer. Thanks!!

AND the dogs are being rewarded 7:55. I like that. What a teamwork the two dogs pay in return. I wish many hunters could watch this recording. The dogs are absolutely amazing. “Textbook-dogs” comes to mind. Thanks for sharing [ Shake ]

I did get a little taste, when a friendly Vet asked me to look after an injured Hobby and it was wonderful to see how it bonded to me and would fly to my fist to get a mouse. I studied books and a video on Hawking, learnt all the knots and made all the kit that was used. I longed to be able to take one hunting, but that's a criminal offence downunda. Ha! Anyway, I have given the rabbits a caning in my 55 years of trapping, hunting and shooting them and I still like a good feed of rabbit. :)

Thanks. The goshawk is better suited to this type of hawking, but an eagle can be surprising agile for such a large bird.

Thanks. The pointing is in the breeding and comes naturally. You can encourage a young dog by introducing it to game, but you can't train a dog to point if it doesn't have the instinct.

+motomeady hunting nd motocross At this early stage in the eagle's training it's all about introducing him to his new world. Getting him used to the surroundings, people, dogs, livestock etc he will eventually be hunting in.

Bow perched and exersized daily during the hunting season and free lofted for the summer.

I don’t know how you didn’t manage to get that female eagle entered in its first season ? From what’s seen it’s just as well you sold that eagle and had a break.
