I got my Zody in SG for ~sgd200+, with a headrest. With forward tilt permanently engaged with a preset tension, i will always find my ideal fully back supported position immediately every time i sit on the Zody. And the headrest supported my head/neck well whenever i tilt back to relax. I have a Leap v2 too but i would still prefer the long hours sitting experience on the Zody.
I'm glad you found a chair you like. For me it is similar to the Leap V2. Aeron is the chair I currently use, I think because I really like the forward tilt on that chair. For a cheaper option though I can definitely recommend the zody
After I watched your review I made decision to buy this chair as my first ergonomic chair, lucky for me local dealer is giving super promo for this model, bought brand new at around 420 pound🎉🎉 Thank you so much for introducing this fantastic chair to me❤
I picked up a brand new one for 300£ on ebay uk I'm happy with it the major problem I've had with other cheaper chairs is they just end up breaking over time this seems really well built and been using since July 23 and it's still as good as new (apart from my cats putting pulls in the fabric lol)
I have a very picky back and love my Zody. The seat is not too hard like some higher end chairs and the back is very comfortable with just the right amount of give and support. I'm someone who hates lumbars that dig into the back and it's definitely not an issue with the Zody. Armrests are nice and wide and the adjustability is awesome. Once you get it set to your liking, it's a great chair.
It depends what the used chair market in your area is but I would say that is expensive, 300-400 seems like Herman Miller Aeron territory. They are good chairs though, I would say to check Facebook Marketplace and see if you find any cheaper. I'm glad I could help
You may like the comparison I did between the Steelcase Leap V2 and the Herman Miller Aeron here😁 : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bsQbEraiLXI.html Consider subscribing since I will have a full review of the Aeron and Leap individually
Awesome :) I would say it is effectively a mini aeron which is as best as I can describe since it has similar build quality and all the features (better armrests too)
@@scrispy995 you need to adjust the 2 levers up (turn clockwise) to increase the lumbar tension. Over time, you may notice 2 phenomenon if the lumbar mechanism is too high and/or the tension is too tight when your back is rested against the mesh. 1st, the lever(s) will(may) unwind itself anticlockwise until an equilibrium tension is naturally found. 2nd, the lumbar mechanism will(may) shift down by itself until again the natural equilibrium tension is found between your back against the mesh. These are the unique self compensating tension adaptation features that i have noticed in the Zody. The decreased tension that you have experienced is in fact the ideal tension (the earlier tension was likely set too high) that the Zody has naturally aligned for you due to your back structure and your sitting posture.
@@hkng125 This is actually the most informative reply I've received in a long time--thank you so much! Learning this about the Zody makes me appreciate it even more!!
I'm convinced and I managed to find one from a company auction, the price for such a thing being on par with a budget chair brand new. Granted it won't be fully refurbished, but it has been deep cleaned and is apparently 2 years old.
@@modernexploration5282 I first heard about this chair from BTODtv (RU-vid) where they play this game ranking chairs, and the Zody got placed in A category without hesitation. And these guys rank Aerons as C category chairs. But your review was the most honest, afterall you're not a business, you're a person with an opinion and no financial incentive. The chair arrived, and even after sitting in it for just a few minutes you can already feel it's a top tier chair. It's not rickety or fragile, it's very solid and I dare say even silent. It looks good too, and my one has the metal base. So it's 2 tone. Black and silver. Over the years I've sat in some expensive chairs and also some budget ones. This chair ranks right up there as perhaps the best. I can't put my finger on exactly why that is, but maybe it's a combination of the ultra smooth recliner that just feels right. The armrests are also forgiving and you shouldn't be developing any blisters. There's just nothing about this chair that's bad. The "joke" is I could have spent maybe 5 to 10 times more on a new chair, and it would have been worse than this one. I can't tell you what a lucky find this was in Czech Republic, because these chairs aren't known or popular, and I only got it because a company was closing down and selling off their chairs (about 1000 of them). The guy actually drove it across the country to me. Super happy with it, and I can see why it's an A tier chair.
3:06 Does the backrest move as well as the seat pan? It looks as though the entire seat rocked forward. If so, I'm definitely going to get a Zody with forward tilt. I have the base model, with no forward tilt, and the back support is rather lacking. Thanks for taking the time to create this video. I found it to be overall pretty helpful!
@@modernexploration5282 I picked up a 2019 model with 2D arms and forward tilt/backstop. I played the AUD equivalent of $134 USD for it. I research and draft learning content for the government Vocational Ed sector. The long hours at my desk are much easier in this chair. Your video was more helpful than any other that I've seen about Zody! Thanks for posting.
So if I recline all the way back and lock it does the backrest continue to "float" and stay with your back? Or does the backrest also lock at the all the way reclined position?
Hi Tim. For used chairs there won't be a warranty if you bought from a private seller. There are some dealers who will give you a warranty on used chairs so if that is important to you then you can buy from one that offers warranty. But the original manufacturer will only have a valid warranty for the original buyer, when the chair is sold second hand that is voided
Hmm Mirra 1 would probably be a better fit for most people I find. I use the Aeron daily and the Mirra is a similar feel. The Zody is very nice quality although a slightly different feel
@@dawidp4351 go for the zody. I live in a very hot place, and the cushion has never been a problem. Also, it is really comfortable to sit, for hours even
