@@JayOhBreezy As a Hayato main he's low tier. Hayato has too many weaknesses to put him on par with the other characters, although his moves have good priority, they're very unsafe aside from his light kicks. Hayato can't rushdown very well which is a very bad thing in Marvel, his mobility is alright, he builds meter very slow, and his anti-air is not a good anti-air except for setting up combos which Cyclops can do as well but better. Hayato does have combo potential with his plasma field into B Hayato, but that can be challenging. Hayato is still a low tier character but people don't actually explain why he is.
@@ThrashMetalWolf666 yes, generally you would use his kicks to start a combo off but sometimes when the person is unsure you can tell when you can rush in I’ll be it slowly and get them in a sore combo and then do a level five combo one of the few characters in the game that has one so of course besides the STO characters they have to give them a few deficiencies otherwise he be just too good at least that’s my take on it, because I’ve been in bad spots where I’ve taken down entire teams with Hayato. But I always played him in third position if I ever played him as my starter off I would get wrecked and playing in as number two never worked very well either.
damn...... I'm just seeing this 4 years later, lol. interesting to know that Hayato has one of the highest damage outputs for a single meter in the entire roster and is still super bottom tier. lol.
Its funny you know thinking about it, im not well vsed on the game, but had people known about this stuff when the game first came out, I wonder if he would be a higher tier. This is kinda just me fooling around since i was bored but it would be intresting to see if his raw damage output just in terms of BNBs etc would be able to make up for the lack of his other abilities like... moving around shit lol.
@@SaishuuKessen no, he wouldn’t. Mobility is faaaaar more important than anything else. And the top tiers just do enough damage…. From easier to hit situations than what you need with hayato. He does have good buttons and awesome damage, but that damage requires you hit your target in the correct situations, and the execution is not easy… not even magusold hit those regularly
@@seilaoquemvc2 hrmmmm who knows.... maybe I should take that as a challenge to see what kinda team strats Ic an come up with this dude and take this game seriously.. then again when I put this in I was doing this on a dreamcast pad.. not even a sega saturn pad so its pretty annoying.. but I guess I could take it as another challenge to progress another fighting game.. maybe ill think about it
Bring Back Hayato in the Form of Luke Skywalker, after all Star wars is Considered Marvel now, he can keep all the plasma moves (with some added ones of course)
Coming back and rewatching this, after needing a detox of DBFZ, something I wonder, did Hayato really do that good damage in MvC2? He was a lower tier that I never played because he struggled too much, but here he puts in work.
Well for what its worth some of these combos are probably quite a bit more difficult than they look. A number of just frames etc. I mean even the loop vs sentinle which should be a infinite(well besides that dizzy spin thing that happens eventually in marvel)has never been done before anything like it even with all the programmable pad combo videos that exisit for the game. Hell I would have liked to do it some more but ive never gotten more than 3 loops of it myself. Granted I didnt wrack my brain about it and try for that long, but it is quite awkward and takes a lot of timing. So point being I guess although alot of these are quite realistic some of these do in the grand scheme of things probably take a lot more timing than they look. Even the sorta classic idea of level one orb super to do a hit to level 3 super for big damage actually to make that a TRUE combo and not unrollable actually takes a lot more timing than it looks like it does. I mean doing it a unrollable way sure not that hard, but doing it so its unrollable quite a bit harder.
Clayton chapman yeah I saw that Sent infy. Crazy how much fucking shit this game has still undiscovered, and how much shit you've found in fighting games. I call that Cell tatsu whiff The Chapman because of it. That first Psy combo with the 6HK link is fucking tight as hell, was it only on her that it worked? It's a damn shame you only have PS3/4, i'd have love to have thrown down in ACR and MvC2 back in the day on 360.

@@SaishuuKessenSome of these combos are basically impossible. I have no idea how he did some of these combos and I have watched these for years. I have watched this vid in slow motion dozens of times and I still cannot figure out how he did some of these combos. Especially when he swings around with the blade, whole holding forward HP, and then still jumps back up into the kick combo and it just keeps going. That is literally impossible.
Hayato is such a beast. Used to run Hayato, Gambit, and Captain America as one of my teams. It’s always been one of my favorite teams to play. Hayato combo into super - royal flush - final justice is a death sentence for most of the cast. Thanks for this video. Such a great demonstration of how awesome this character is and what he can do.
I specifically bought the game Hayato is from; different move set from what Capcom has done before....but if you play it will help you understand his combos in MvC2....absolutely fun to learn and have fun with
Jesus christ I learned things here that I never knew about with Hayato, you make him look half decent but I bet the light kick after forward fierce timing must be hella dumb. I miss this game but if I had access to it again or it had some kind of resurgence this has definitely inspired me to get good with Hayato with this newfound knowledge. Thanks for the video!
It's actually not too terrible - you have to buffer the dash with it but it's not beyond mastery. I usually used his b+HP Plasma series after that, into one hit of Shiden into Rasetsu Zan or Engetsu. You might have to DHC Rasetsu Zan depending on the enemy. The thing that blows my mind here is both the repeated chains on Sentinel, which were pretty as hell... and the combo from the LP Plasma series' low kick into a standing light kick normal. I didn't even realize that was possible, the timing has to be incredible. Honestly this dude could play Hakumen from Blazblue pretty well with this combo timing.
Revisiting this Clay , so Hayato (because of the laser sword which is like a Lightsaber , makes Hayato cooler than he already is , he's anime capcom Jedi) he was my first pick ever back when the mvc2 arcade drop , with Doom and guile lmfao.... What do u think of a team consisting of Haya on point, Omega Red mid and Son2x... I'd like to request if you can throw down a good bnb and synergy ... thanks love the hayato content.
Sorry I cant give yo any good advice on that.. I dont play the game seriously. Just tried to find cool combos in it. Since this video though just last year I found a number of new things with him though solo I put on my channel including instant kills anywhere basically on the screen from anything.

Nah I only played when it first came out casually.. I was never anything special. Just fooled around with it a bit.. made this video cuz I was bored years later to see if I could come up with anything new. Part of me wonders if I could come up with some more new stuff sometimes though but fuck me I dont know where my dreamcast would even be at this point.. but for sure I would like to one day do that sentinel infinite idea I show off here for more loops. That was very very difficult to even do a few reps of .
Depends on which combo you're talking about I feel like most the combos in this were not too hard a lot of them just require very fast microdashes however unless you were talking about the theoretical infinite that I showed verse Sentinel then yes that is very very fucking hard

Like I said before this video was not very hard to make besides sentinel combo which was a extremely fucking hard... most of it is just quick micro dashes. I dont recall struggling to much with this video honestly.
I've actually posted more stuff with him I think it was either the end of last year or maybe it was the beginning of this year forget I found some instant kill combos with him like bnb even instant kill stuff mid screen. Theres still other combo video crazy level sort of stuff I'd like to do but now I'm just too old now with everything else real life wise I just don't have the will to kill myself trying to do it
I can't combo after doing a forward fierce punch for the life of me, what am i doing wrong? in the video after the forward fierce punch (sword slash) he does a couple kicks then starts, repeats it over again
But still used through TAS. I do wonder if any of these combos are possible to be done in a game. Sure it pretty to watch in training mode. Real games I dunno.
@@entitiessoul I just said I didnt use tas and even did it on a dreamcast controller. Ive showed me doing supposedly humanly impossible combo in matches as well for various games
