I could not agree more. After listening through lots of recordings, I found this one to be the most compelling. The emotion, voice, and tempo in the coda are superb. In particular the way he drives the emotion at 6:00 forward with the base line. What a wonderful performance!
Pretty much the best possible rendition of this marvelous piece. I'm still convinced he didn't make it to the last round due to him not having a teacher in the jury.
By far the best interpretation because how the subtle details of the notes are. His playing is so gentle but can be energetic when some parts of the piece needs it.
Great interpretation of this stunning but strange work - the coda is fascinating in its presentation, somehow manages to be harsh and beautiful at the same time. Wonder how it sounded on the pianos of Chopin’s time.
